I couldn’t agree with you more!! While I agree Gabby needs to lose weight any of us can go at any time. I’m a vegan, I don’t smoke or drink and I exercise 5 days a week. I take care of myself because I don’t want to die from complications due to diabetes or a heart attack.
However, I could go to bed tonight and not get up tomorrow. I can cross the street this afternoon and get hit by a cab. Lord knows the cab drivers in NY can’t drive! We are in the land of the dying!

I work in the medical field and have encountered obese people with perfect cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure and people with a healthy weight who have all of the above. Howard is right about the fact that she should lose weight (although the way he’s doing is mean-spirited). Gabourey is beautiful, but the excess weight needs to go.

I have to agree with Howard, obesity is an epidemic in this country. Everyone wants to act like she’s got nothing wrong, someone needs to help her if not herself, and I’m by no means a skinny guy but I am trying to be healthier. She is morbidly obese and if she doesn’t do anything about it, she will have health complications the rest of her life. This is a serious matter and from reading the comments it seems like most people think its just an image issue but its not just that.

I applaud Howard for bringing this issue up when most of us want to just sweep it under the rug.

Don’t you think she knows she needs to lose weight? I’m sure that’s being worked on now. We can’t just blink our eyes and she’ll be slimmer. There’s something she can do in show business. She can become a producer, or write screenplays… she seems to have a strong personality, she should try her hand at acting.
