Preach brotha!!! Thank the Lord I was skinny when I was young so that at 40 I am just thick rather then fat. I worry about my daughter. She weighs at 16 what I weighed after I had her. She’s borderline thick now and I have told her that if she keeps it up she will be fat by the time she is 30 if not sooner.

No it’s not a school daze fued. I never do the light vs. dark. I love all shades of BLACK. I just dont get caught up in all of our SUPPOSE to be examples of real black beauty, not coming from REAL black women. There are plenty of light, dark, and sistas all up in between, that are drop dead georgeous. From Keyshia cole to Jill Jones….
BUT if ALL of societys examples are of women are not completely black, then I have to detect some subliminal brainwashing.
I do embrace our mixed sista as well, but if I’m suppose to put them on some higher pedestal, then I have to beg to differ (or vice versa). I’ve noticed on this site most full black women (no matter the shade), get so scrunitzed. It’s sick. Seems like to some folks if your white, mixed, or super light, your automaticlly right…….Wrong.

Thanks..I agree with you too. There are so many cultures within our own. From African, Jamaican, Hatian,Indian, I mean we could go all day with it. but generally in society all aspects of our cultures seemed to get pushed to the back burner. Like anything outside the lines of “American” aka White is somehow frowned apon (ex. Beyonce). ***** to be honest I dont think nothings more exotic than an afro. Only a sista can rock one! lol …. Oh yhea I know some female barbers too, they can fade like a *****!

Thank you!! I was thinking the same thing…why are people looking at sombodies knees and sh*t. Thats crazy to me. Anyway, Halle and Stacy are both lovely and if I didn’t know any better I wouldn’t even know they were over 40 (although 40 is not that old)…and for people up in here saying “40 is 40…not the new 30″, that may be true, but all that doesn’t matter when you are over 40 years old and look like your 25. These ladies put the youngins to shame.

I’m seriously trippin about everyone calling Halle and Stacey SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous! Truth be told, the BEST looking women are the ones walking the street. They don’t have personal trainers, professional make-up artists, or photoshop experts to make their faces and bodies look perfect for magazine covers! Stacey is cute, but not gorgeous. At least, not to me. Also, in person, she is about 20 shades darker (watch the movie “Clueless”), so why they feel the need to “whiten her up” sickens me. Halle, also cute, is not gorgeous either. Even when she had the title of “most beautiful woman in the world,” I just never saw it. Think about it, people.
