Preach brotha!!! Thank the Lord I was skinny when I was young so that at 40 I am just thick rather then fat. I worry about my daughter. She weighs at 16 what I weighed after I had her. She’s borderline thick now and I have told her that if she keeps it up she will be fat by the time she is 30 if not sooner.

No it’s not a school daze fued. I never do the light vs. dark. I love all shades of BLACK. I just dont get caught up in all of our SUPPOSE to be examples of real black beauty, not coming from REAL black women. There are plenty of light, dark, and sistas all up in between, that are drop dead georgeous. From Keyshia cole to Jill Jones….

BUT if ALL of societys examples are of women are not completely black, then I have to detect some subliminal brainwashing.

I do embrace our mixed sista as well, but if I’m suppose to put them on some higher pedestal, then I have to beg to differ (or vice versa). How many times are some of you going to talk about this? Just because Stacy and Halle are mixed doesn’t mean they should be shut out of being called “beautiful black woman”. When you see Halle, you see a black woman period. And all those woman you mentioned are lovely as well..but all that being mad at people because they are mixed needs to go out the window for real. They are not full black, so what? People kill me on here thinking its okay to talk down on them for being mixed, but as soon as someone come up in here talking about a “real black woman” some of you are ready to have a heart attack. Why is it okay for you seperate them from what is considered “beautiful” because they are mixed? Please quit with all that “pure black” nonsense…black is BLACK, period!
