Ja Rule and Adrienne Bailon will topline faith-based drama “I’m in Love With a Church Girl,” the debut feature from indie production shingle Reverence Gospel Media.

Project is based on the story of Galley Molina, head of Reverence, and will be directed by Steve Race (“The Beach House”) from Molina’s script. Lensing is slated to begin May 10 in San Jose, Calif.

Story will center on a retired high-level drug trafficker who has gone legit but is still loyal to his circle of friends and former colleagues. When he meets the girl of his dreams, he must decide whether to hold onto his old ways or let them go.

Rule’s credits include “The Fast and the Furious,” “Scary Movie 3” and “Shall We Dance.” Bailon’s the former lead vocalist of the R&B group 3LW.

Reverence plans to produce two or three films a year, with budgets under $20 million.
