Ain’t That A B*tch: Lil’ Wayne Misses Court in Arizona And A Bench Warrant Is Issued BUT… He’s Already In Jail

First we want to know how something like this is even legal in the justice system??? Regardless, it seems like Lil’ Wayne can’t catch a break. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest for failing to appear in Arizona for a court appearance.

…Arizona court for possession of drugs and weapons charges.

The warrant comes from Yuma County Superior Court judge Mark Wayne Reeves who issued the papers after Wayne failed to appear for a final trial management conference.

Ha? Exactly…

Wayne is currently locked up in Rikers Island for the next eight months at least for criminal gun possession charges in New York so obviously he had a valid reason for not being there.

We know his lawyer still has to be getting a check and just because Weezy is in jail obviously his lawyer’s job is not done.

This seems a little overzealous. It’s not like Lil’ Wayne is on the lam and no one knows where he is.

  • DreTruth

What ever comes his way he did it to himself so he’ll be going back shortly!!!!

  • chocalatetunda01

THAT JUST GO’S TO SHOW YOU THAT OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM IS FELL OF ISH. SMH. LOL. BUT AT THE SAME TOKEN LIL WAYNE IMMA NEED YOU TO GET IT TOGETHER AND NOT GET YOURSELF IN SO MUCH TROUBLE. YOU ARE VERY TALANTED SO DONT THROW IT ALL AWAY WITH DOING CRIME. IF THATS THE CASE YOU COULD HAVE JUST STAYED IN THE STRRETS AND BEEN A REAL GUTTER AZZ N166@.

  • Jay

One case has NOTHING to do with the other and yes he can be issued a warrant while in jail for something else. The issue is his so-called lawyer – he’s still supposed to show up on Wayne’s behalf!! That’s messed up.

  • KDW

It’s not that big of a deal, the warrant will just be recalled once someone presumably Wayne’s lawyer points out to the Judge that he was not present becuase he was in jail at the time.

@jdals stay in law school sweety, you’re not done yet. Take it from a lawyer, you know just enough to get yourself in trouble or someone else. He will not get more jail time.

Good to know! Given that the lawyer is probably being paid a healthy amount per hour, I wonder what his excuse is for not being there.

you in law school and you cant even spell “regardless” right? its lawyers like you that allow this kinda ish to happen to there clients….yea im callin your bluff foo!

  • Ms. Brilly

Just because you’re in jail doesn’t mean you can’t go to court for a pending case! Even if Wayne wasn’t there, he is supposed to have representation (lawyer) present on his behalf. If you don’t show up in court, the judge issues a bench warrant, those are court rules and they still apply even if you are already incarcerated. It’s procedure.

The chances that the cops arrest someone because the bench warrant was issued is slim anyway (more likely because they committed another crime with an outstanding bench warrant) so the fact that he’s in jail with a bench warrant is not such a huge deal and certainly not a miscarriage of justice.

    WELL…I KNOW WHERE HE WILL B N A YR. LOL…WHO CARES

  • faundyb

I WAS WONDERING HOW THE HELL HE COULD BE IN 2 PLACES @ ONE TIME THANKS FOR TELLING ME I DID NOT KNOW THE LAWYER SHOULD HAVE GONE THATS FICKED UP!

  • Matix B

Bench warrants can be revoked. Just wait for Wayne’s lawyer to do his ground work. This happens all the time and easily gets resolved when the matter is spoken to the Judge. Stop the drama, he will be out before his year is up. His lawyer will make sure of it!

He needs to understand that he is not above the law… Chit my the time that he gets out of jail he should have learned so very key lessons..

  • http://www.myspace.com/touchofbeautie ms louisiana stand up

the system sounds kinda fishy 2 me

  • jfizzle

No his lawyer is not responsible for an arizona case. His lawyer is representing him in NY, if he has issue in another state he needs to handle that accordingly. Maybe he should stop, getting locked up.

  • tg

He’ll learn even SO CALLED legit people just want his money and want to make him look bad in the public eye. They like keeping black men with money in their place. They are this countries biggest threat – too bad they don’t realize that – though.

  • !!!!!

UH OH MORE JAIL TIME FOR HIM LOL.
