Jesus Take The Wheel: Brooklyn Teen Gets Grill Slashed, Face Scarred Forever

This violence is getting way out of hand:

Every time a teen looks in the mirror, she will see the V-shaped scar – a permanent reminder of the violence that erupted near her grandmother’s Brooklyn home.

Shantayah Lewis, 17, sat in her room at Kings County Hospital Saturday, calmly reflecting on the Friday afternoon attack that left her with dozens of stitches in the left side of her face.

“My face is too beautiful to be fighting,” Shantayah told the Daily News. “Fighting is not the key. Violence is not the way.” Shantayah was walking with her 15-year-old cousin, Shakeena Grant, on Franklin Ave. near Lincoln Place in Crown Heights about 3:30 p.m. They were being tailed by a girl who is dating the ex-boyfriend of Shakeena’s sister, Shamaula. “She kept following us,” the injured teen said. “She wanted to fight.”

After a brief scuffle, the 17-year-old girl who had been following the cousins vowed to return. About 5 p.m. the girl came back with her boyfriend, the center of the beef. She then whipped out what witnesses said was a knife and started slashing. “She swung and started stabbing my face,” Shantayah said. “I didn’t know what to do.”

Shakeena, who was stabbed, was released from a hospital Saturday. The two girls somehow escaped and ran to the Union St. home of Shantayah’s grandmother, Cheryl Evans. The grandmother called 911 and the two girls were taken to Kings County Hospital. Though the wounded teens believed the boyfriend was holding them down, cops said he actually was trying to break up the attack. Police talked to the man, who said he was trying to help, and surveillance video backs up his claim, sources said.

Shantayah said the whole thing should never have happened. “Basically, [Shakeena] fought for her sister,” she said, referring to Shamaula, who used to date the attacker’s boyfriend. “She should not have done that. We should not have been involved.” The young girl responsible for the attack was still at large last night and no arrests have been made.

That poor girl’s face is permanently scarred for pure BS. We have to send more positive messages to our youth, this is ridiculous!!!

Very sad, and extremely sad this is a normal occurence in the tri-state area. I’ve seen other girls like this in new jersey, where I live. This is nothing new..very common and unfortunate with teenagers who are hateful, or have some kind of grudge with another.

Damn…Im a native NY’er and where I live now, my head is always on a swivel, I cannot sit with my back towards the door, shit like that. People think its weird but the big beautiful city isnt all that nice sometimes. I feel bad for this young systa, and I hope she heals up. My lil cousin was in a bad car accident and has a bad scar going over her eye, and although you can still see it slightly, it has healed so hopefully there is hope.

The boy should be charged as well because he had no business returning to the scene with his girlfriend. Not going back to the fight with her would have been the smart choice. When is it not a crime to know someone is carrying a weapon to a fight. What did he think she was going to do with the knife cut a cake. You don’t take a weapon to solve a problem. He knew what the outcome could be…CHARGE HIM. Lesson should be learned that this must stop.

I feel sorry for the girls who got cut, I feel for both of them, skin draft leaves scars also, a plastic surgeon knows how to put those stitches in the face ware it want scar as bad, they also have cream that will help to heal the skin to a even tone and that too will help. There is more to this story because the girls who got cut had nothing to do with the situation so there where some words and there was a brief scuffle, the two girls where kicking the one girls a&& at first, than she left and vowed to come back and they stayed around like they where crazy and she returned with a knife. The boyfriend tried to break up the fight between his ex-girlfriend sister and cousin, who shouldn’t have been fighting with that girl and waiting around like they had everything under control. If it wasn’t for the ex-boyfriend one of the two girls may have been murdered. All three girls where at fault that’s the way I’m seeing it somebody need to go home and stand down, it seems like the two girl got cut was trying to stand their ground and got the worst of the situation. SAD! REAL SAD!

When are young girls and women in general going to learn not to fight over ANY man. It’s not worth it. Not matter how much you fight over them, they are still going to do what they want to do anyway and you will be the one left looking like a fool. I always told my daughter that I would whip her a** myself if I ever caught her out there fighting over some boy/man.
The other woman is not the problem, he’s the problem. No body forced him to mess with the other chick. If there is a problem, he’s the one that needs to be confronted.

What was the cousin and sister doing fighting for a person that wasn’t even present at the fight, I’m not saying they should be fighting in any case, but they should not have let their tempers get in involved in the situation, we are only hearing one side of the story I just bet the two girls whopped her down in the first scuffle and was holding ground for her to come back so they could whoop her azz again.

One of my friends daughters got cut in her face during a fight. Because the young girls at her middle school, was jealous of her beauty. When I saw her face i wanted to just cry. She is still a beautiful person, and she in college now; so that situation didnt break her it made her stronger.

I blame this on their parents of these children, because if they were trained properly at a young age; this wouldn’t have never happened. I thank God for my god fearing mother and father, who stayed in church and read their bibles. Because they really provided a stable, loving and caring environment for me as a child.
