Bossip Video

Hi there Bossip! I have a problem that’s been occurring recently and I need some help. I am only 26 years old and I feel it’s to soon to be losing my MOJO. I’ve been with my boyfriend for about two years and now I’m having a problem with my juices flowing. I’m still very attracted to him and want to have sex all the time, but lately it seems that I am dry as a well. I know it sounds like something that can be fixed with a little KY but my body is sensitive and especially in the garden of Eve so, the aftermath of using lubricants is not a good look! I desperately want to return to the natural “FLOW” of things. I hate to have my boyfriend feeling like he’s inadequate because that is not the problem! It’s all me, I need some advice – HELP ME!!!!! Is there something I can do to fix this?

Sincerely ,

Need a Flow Like Fiji

Good day, Need Flow! First, thank you for writing in and sharing! So let’s dive into this. Vaginal dryness is common for women between the ages of 40 through 59, so, typically, perimenopausal and menopausal women suffer from vaginal dryness frequently. Being that you’re only 26, this shouldn’t be an issue for you unless you’re genetically predisposed to early onset of menopause or taking prescribed meds like anti-depressants. Stress and/or depression, however, affect people of all ages. Take some time and evaluate what your stresses are, i.e. work, relationship or family issues, and decide whether you’re properly expressing them or storing them. Remember, stress can be deadly! If your body is talking to you, pay attention!

If your lady parts are sensitive and get irritated by personal lubricants (KY or Astroglide), which are mostly water-based, you should have your gynecologist evaluate your vaginal pH levels to get a clear understanding of what irritates you and why. It could as simple as a soap or dye allergy that could be throwing your natural vaginal function out of whack. Sometimes these allergic reactions can decrease the productivity of the mucous (mucus) membrane, resulting in dryness.

On a natural note, there are so many things you can do, so fear not! For starters, stay hydrated! Most folks do not drink enough water! If you’re someone who works out, for example, and you don’t replenish the water you’ve lost sweating the body holds onto every ounce of moisture it can! Drink lots of water – eight glasses a day is the MINIMUM! In terms of your diet, Omega-3 or fatty acids are great for cell restoration, so incorporate lots of salmon, pecans, walnuts, blackberries, raspberries, broccoli and spinach. Any food that’s especially high in fatty acids help restore the body’s natural balance. Eat some yogurt! Here’s why: yogurt that contains Lactobacillus acidophilus is packed with probiotic microorganisms that restore and maintain vaginal pH and can kick those mucous membranes back in gear! Take Vitamin E capsules once or twice a week for its natural healing properties and circulatory benefits. Also, if you’re willing, get some grapeseed or almond oil and swab (with your fingers) your vaginal walls, let it sit for 5-7 minutes and shower! These oils are all natural and virtually harmless so don’t be scared to use a little help!

Hope this helps, Need Flow!
