Larry Mendte — the former Philadelphia anchorman now doing commentary on WPIX Ch. 11 — must get used to being a felon. A judge has refused to vacate his 2008 felony plea for hacking into e-mails of his co-anchor, Alycia Lane, and leaking private information about her to the press. Mendte, 53, remains on probation after serving six months’ home confinement. He tried claiming his lawyer failed to negotiate down to a misdemeanor. But federal judge Mary McLaughlin ruled Mendte knew he was pleading guilty to a felony.
