I’m going to tell you where Lisa went wrong. This man has frozen all her accounts she probably closed to running broke. Michael is really a prime minister (not a king has been reported) of a small and NOT wealthy set of islands. There is not much wealth to throw around, but as the prime minister, the job does come with certain perks (nice cars, mansions, etc.).

Michael’s main and (I believe) only reason for marrying Lisa Raye was to increase the visibility of the island and its tourism dollars. Why Lisa did not see this is beyond me. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

My prediction is that she will not walk with much from the divorce, I doubt she will even get much of the jewelry, her clothes yes.

Sista, the only reason I can keep my composure now is because I know how it feels to lose it, particularly with men. It may feel good in the moment to let a man “have it” (verbally, in my case), but I’ve always had a sinking feeling afterwards, and it doesn’t lessen the pain. Time (and in some cases, a new great man who gives you the love and respect you deserve) does that. *It’s really sad and disheartening when a network geared towards “African-Americans,” has to issue a statement defending their hiring practices which exclude “African-American women” as hosts from their most visible shows.

Yesterday, BET responded to our criticism. They issued a statement (which no one in the media took seriously) basically saying: “BET respects the power of blogging but we must distinguish fact from fiction in regards to a recent “Panache Report,” article.”

“BET is proud of the incredible black women representing our channel. Donella, Alesha Renee and Jina Johnson.”

Despite this, we stand by our statements. BET does not have African American women on their most visible shows such as 106 & Park which continues to receive low ratings with Rocsi co-hosting. The ratings for 106 & Park were at its peak when Free & AJ hosted. They “sold,” Rocsi and Terrance “don’t sell.” And, we won’t mention the scandal that Rocsi is currently (allegedly) involved in, is there a morals clause in her contract or is this another ploy for higher ratings? And, the crossover argument doesn’t work in this case because high ratings aren’t being generated.

Has BET forgotten that their core audience is African-American female?

Meanwhile, Black women like Oprah Winfrey continue to make strides in communications by “selling,” and by having the most successful show on television. Tyra Banks continues to “sell” with her talk show and “America’s Next Top Model.”

I pity the day when civil rights groups arrive at BET offices to discuss hiring practices with “Black” executives at a network geared towards “African-Americans,” that exclude “Black women,” from their most visible shows.

LOL..Okay we were together for three years and married for almost two at that point. And yes I did see signs and ignored it until I just couldn’t take anymore. I believe hardbody in marriage, I believe in trying to make it work. I thought if I let him be a man he would get his shyt together (was 18 when I got married) but that wasn’t it. I didn’t repsect myself enough to leave, to show him the door….nothing. So we got evicted and his sis told us to move to ATL with her. I said okay, he was cool with it. We left the apartment and took what we could in the car (he cannot drive) and relocated. His sis gave us 30 days or something to start getting on our feet. Well he went down there doing HIM! He started bac drinking heavily, smoking that herb, selling shyt to get money for herb (so he says…jury still out on that one) and acting a monkey’s fool. So we have to leave…our time with sis is up and we are living out of our car and I am DEPRESSED. I mean i gave up so much for this cat and I am smart, graduated 4th in my class from H.S. over a 90 average and here i am living out of a car because he cannot man up and look for a job (yes i was going on interviews but nothing was coming up, but I did try). He spent up the money we left with and everything (had a stash he didn’t know about). so i call his sister hysterical and she is like listen go back to NY, do the shelter thing and whomp whomp. I am like this has gone too far. So he has us in some real shady ATL areas looking for weed and shyt and I am like well when are you going to start looking for a job, he was like oh once you get us a job and we get the apartment. My heart sank. So we parked next to some Salvation Army and slept there for the night. He really won’t let me out of his site, he even stood in front of bathrooms when I was inside peeing. It was a mess. So the morning came and i was so scared I didn’t know what the f*ck to do but i had to get away from him. So after an hour of begging him to go put his contact in (yes just 1) we stop at this BP and he gets out. He walks into the store and I slowly back the car up like I am going to a different spot. He turns up the aisle to go to the restroom and i floor that b*tch back onto 85!!! Holla! The first thing I do is go to a church. I need to talk to someone b/c believe it or not that is totally out of my character to do and I felt terrible but I needed to know what i did was okay. So the church looks me over and deems me okay and they talk and I cry and spill my guts. Afterwards (like 5 hours later cause i took a nap too) i call sis to tell her what I did, she tells me to come over so i can shower or whatever. She already knew what happened. so i go back and his mom’s calls and is like they want him out of ATL before he tries to hurt me so they send him the $100 fare for the bus to get back to NY. So to answer you this my whole plan. No one helped. No one knew it was going to happen. I just got fed up and did it.

I left him at the first chance I could get him out of the car. If it would have been a restuarant or rest area it would have been that then. I knew the first chance he was out i was gone.

No one helped. i didn’t know anyone in ATL.

I ended up staying with his sis until she went back to NY a few months later (she couldn’t get a job either).

I burned errthing. The freaking ICe Berg shyt we blew money we didn’t have on and errthing and left the bag there too when I left.

I lived in Cle, went out one night and met some dudes from Cinci that were up for a bachelor party. One dude was married, had ring on talked about her all that. He and some of the dudes (who were single) said they come up to CLE all the time for work and would take us to lunch blah blah blah and puts his # in my phone, when he did that he called himself from my phone (JERK) so he could have my #. After that night NEVER heard from him or any of the dudes again. Well about a month later I get a woman on my phone asking me about him. At first I had no clue who she was talking about. She says “Did he say his name was so and so cause sometimes he gives a fake name”.

One: From what I heard the Pre-Nup she signed is tight, so she’s gonna get some skrilla from this regardless. This right here though, is straight class-less.

Two: What goes around comes around. She divorced her first husband cause he went broke, she had no shame running them streets with Gary Payton in PUBLIC no less, while his wife was at home kicking rocks.

Three: Knowing the things I’ve heard, that ‘alleged rape’ of one of her close American friends…. was probably a set up… actually I’m almost certain it was.

The things people do for wealth and status is disgusting.

Honey, I applaud you for having the balls to get out of that situation. At least you just burned his clothes, I have to pray in my relationships because I’m not a violent person, but I can feel things getting under my skin that I want to let out so badly.

I dated a guy that I ended up being engaged to, and we started a bank account together. He made more, was better educated, and insisted that I direct deposit my money into the account, and he was going to direct deposit his. My company, at that time, didn’t give out paper copies of your direct deposit, so I’d never had one to show him. I had $100 of each check going into a personal account, and I’d often bring up how would we split the money should we stop seeing each other and call the wedding off. He gave me all of this, oh baby, what’s mine is yours, blah blah blah. He’d start checking my purse for receipts on the places I’d been, and was constantly checking my cel phone bill. I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong, so at first I let him do it to prove he could trust me, then it just got annoying and made me scared to even see my friends/classmates/co-workers without him, because I had to justify every receipt.

We had a fight because I wanted to go to pre-marital couseling and push the wedding date back, he got really angry and would leave the apartment when I came home. We’d been putting our money together for about 4 months at that point and living together for 2 weeks. He made about $60k a year, and I was only making about $11/hr. (just moved back from overseas, took the first job I could find), so whatever he spent or I spent was okay, because we always had more than half of our takehome pay left, and then he’d start buying big screen TVs, got an expensive stereo for his car, started slacking on my car note and was telling me I need to contribute to it, which I didn’t understand because it was being paid out of the joint account. Well, when he started leaving at all hours of th enight, had our internet turned off, turned off my cel phone, had my car picked up by the dealership. I went in to the bank, and sweetly withdrew half of what we had, which was well over what I had put into it. He couldn’t say SH!T because I had e-mails and love letters promising I’d get half.

I also took half of his CDs and half of his jewelry. He kept trying to get me back, I was like, I don’t think so. I honestly think he just wanted his stuff back.

And because, at the time, my credit was bad and I was making so little, our apartment was in his name, so he got hit with that when he broke the lease. When he had the car picked up, he thought he’d be able to have it flipped in my name so it would show I did a voluntary repo, and the dealership called me, I busted him in what he was trying to do so it showed up on his credit report. I didn’t even cry over him. I just knew we weren’t meant to be and I kept kicking myself for being with him in the first place.

I’m thankful he never laid a hand on me, but his abandoning me as the wedding got closer hurt more than a slap to the face would have.

Why…. I’m not sure. I have a few theories. Before I give this to you it will have generalization so no need to point that out.

One of them is the “fairy tale” effect. People grow up looking for the prince/princess and when that doesn’t happen people are disappointed and feel like they have “settled.”

Another is a break down in traditional family roles. No organization succeeds with “two” heads. This breakdown goes back to World War II and the Women’s movement. As a general rule women don’t want men with less income/status than them. As they joined the workforce and increased their income they became dissatisfied with marriage partners.

The real culprit here is “expectations.” Both parties are going in with unrealistic expectations that I think some of the old timers didn’t have. Thus the old timers were less likely to feel as though they “settled.”

I’ve been to quite a few Caribbean islands and beauty wise, T&C is definitely one of the top choices. Nightlife is dismal but the beaches, the people, and the sand it is absolutely beautiful.

Relationships and marriages are about compromise but you also don’t want to completely lose your individuality or your sense of worth. Unfortunately your good intentions of letting him look through your stuff also served as a sense of enabling. Honestly, no, I don’t think it will hurt Obama to not have Rangel speak. The NY Times magazine has a cover story on Sunday about the shift in black political leadership (which I still have to read myself), and I think this presidency has uncovered the schism between the Old Guard and a new class of black politicians. Yep, an associate of mine was having drainage problems. So I went over to help her. After she measured my tools, I closly inspected the clog. Then I ran a plunger, laid some new pipe and all the plumbing started flowing just fine!

Yep, an associate of mine was having drainage problems. So I went over to help her. After she measured my tools, I closly inspected the clog. Then I ran a plunger, laid some new pipe and all the plumbing started flowing just fine!

I think I’m going to start a routine maintenance schedule to aleviate any future blockage.

Just got home momma and read your story about the “36″ year old man. Did I tell you about the 39 year old when I was 40. He was I gues hustling or something on the block. Girl…I remember when I was younger.I wanted the HOTTEST guy in our high school. i had approached him and he was like I am feeling you but i have some things to take care of,when i get that squared away I will let you know. Oh lawd! Here I go telling personal stories again, but oh well. When I was in college at Howard I had this girl who hated me for unknown reasons. I think she grew up in an inner-city ghetto, unlike myself, but anyways she snitched on me for having alcohol in my freshmen dorimitory. Needless to say I had to go to this alcohol safety class and whatnot, but to make a long story short I payed her back good!

I pretended to make peace with her after the incident and since she was struggling with one of her psychology courses I had taken the previous semester I “volunteered” my help. I gave her one of my old papers to submit and then turned her in for plagiarism because I said she stole the paper from my dorm room.

To sum it up, she was expelled from the university and I am successful to this day!

When I was stationed in Great Lakes, the man I was seeing was very shy. So I would do things to him in public that no one else knew. We would sit together in a crowded study hall, and I would make him come by jerking him off under the table. One time he kicked the table so hard the leg slipped and all the books came crashing down. I just pulled back and washed my hands.

And when we would take the train to Chicago on the weekends, I would wear a skirt to get busy on the train, many times with it very crowded. He had to bite down on his coat to keep from screaming. After all that every time this man saw me in a skirt, even in uniform, he would have to walk around with books or his coat in front of him.

That was just the tame stuff.

Or I would come up to him and whisper the dirty things I wanted to do to him while we were at official events in uniform, and tell him just enough to make his eyes glaze over, then walk away and conduct official business like nothing was ever said. I don’t think anyone would ever believe him if he said anythhing because I had an innocent face, and was very professional in uniform.

I’ve been getting my investigative reporter on tonight regarding all this talk about Lisa Raye and Mr. Misick. I gotta tell you it wasn’t hard to start uncovering dirt on this dud Misick. He is as shady as they come!!!!

He’s been robbing that country blind ever since he got into power. A very interesting story.

LisaRaye even managed to get her hand into the cookie jar. Got herself a $7 million contract for “promoting” the Turks and Caicos as a tourist destination. Thats really why she wants to stay down there.

Actually Turks and Caicos is not even an independent country. Its owned by the British. The British just set up a commission to investigate Misick and his crew. Misick pulled out all the stops to prevent the enquiry but failed. Now as a desperate last-ditch effort to save his ass he’s going to try to make the country independent.

That’s kinda like the governor of Florida trying to make Florida an independent country to avoid being investigated by the Federal U.S. Government.

Before he got elected he had just $50,000 in assets yet just 2 years later he bought a peice of land for over $2 million and built a multi-million dollar mansion (all paid for with cash). Hmmmm…

Sounds like somebody is about to go down hard.

There are a few controversies involved w/ his properties in the NYC. The one that’s being looked into at the hearing pertains to the one rent controlled apt. that he was using as an office.

Rent controlled apts generally rent for considerably less than the market value because they are supposed to go to low-income individuals. By congressional rules, any benefit bestowed on a Congressman exceeding $50 (“under $50-exception” rule) is supposed to be reported. So basically, there’s going to be an investigation on whether the difference in rent price to market price for the apt. is considered a benefit and thereby exceeding the $50 limit. The real controversy should be how he was able to get THREE rent controlled apts considering his income taxes report earnings of over a million dollars a year.

It’s now being said that she wont come out the Mansion. LR -the mansion belongs to the government of TCI, not him. He is only a PM for a period of time- his time is soon up. Obviously, you’re in denial becuase yours is too. Keeo this in mind, he doesn’t need to touch her at all – that’s the island. Let her keep up her nonsense over there – the Atlantic Ocean is wide and endlessly deep – one one-way ticket to the Atlantic Ocean is all she needs (don’t forget the Bermuda Triangle is mixed up in there too. Those sharks and unknown sea creatures hadn’t had free live food in God knows how long. Keep up that mess in ‘da island’, she’ll go MIA.
