21 year-old sprinter Usain Bolt won Jamaica’s first ever Olympic Gold medal as well as breaking the World Record in the 100 meters:
Bolt won the 100 meters in a time, 9.69 seconds, that broke his 11-week-old world record of 9.72 and could have been much faster had he not turned the end of the race into Carnival. His rivals still couldn’t catch up. Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago ran a personal-best 9.89 and was farther from first than any Olympic silver medalist since 1984. Walter Dix of the United States was third in a personal-best 9.91, and Churandy Martina was fourth in a Netherlands Antilles-record 9.93.

Being a black american female, I was happy that a jamaican won the gold medal for the first time in track. The American men have dominated track and field for many years. It is time for a change.
I am offended by some of these comments. Jamaican men who choose to date an american women is a matter of choice. Most of them are accustomed to having many women. If they want to have a man who roams from woman to woman that is their decision as well. AIDS is the number one killer in Jamaica because of their promiscuity.

LOL!!! I actually just got into swimming this year after I cut my hair and I love it. It’s keeping me slim, but my biggest problem is my cheap ***** apartment opening and closing the pool whenever they feel like it

I was amazed by his performance, but he still could have shaved a little more off his time had he kept pushing. After the first glance to the side, everyone was like “WTF???”" and then when he went into the cruise mode toward the end I was kinda disapointed.

The Jamaican team was tested 32 times before Tuesday for drugs, when the events wouldn’t start until Thursday!All we do is make sure we eat a good JAMAICAN meal before the race, say a prayer, and do what we came to do. A lot of Americans in general don’t know that Brasil was one of the first ports that let off more than 40% of Africans with forced slavery.
and Cuba was next nor do American realize that a lot of inventions were made by Jamacians, and Blacks from the States of United America.

Runners do all kinds of subtle things that the crowd never gets to see.
Some runners try to take other runners out by saying things, slight nudging, flinching, handshakes…all kinds of things. He did none of that.
He was getting himself geeked up for his race, he didn’t run in anybody else’s lane or say anything to anyone.
When you’re doing something that requires that much force and aggression you have to get pumped up some kind of way.
Yes, some runners are more reserved but that’s how he got his head in the race.
NFL & NBA players get each other crunk and have cheerleaders, boxers get pumped in their corner, rowers get yelled at for the entire race, one of the Chinese gymnast yelled out before her vault, swimmers yell during races along the side of the pool, javelin/discus/shot put throwers yell before & during their throws….
