All Chicagoans around the city is in mourning. It’s like losing an uncle or some funny member of your family. There were like 10,000 people that came to the funeral to see Bernie one last time. Even the mayor of Chicago was there. DL Hugley was crying and stuff. (I heard that the only one of the Kings he was real closed to was Ced…but I wont harp on that now.

Bernie was a legend. Every part he played in a movie was funny, even if the movie itself wasnt good, his part was. *****ody will be able to take his place. He will be missed….

Southern bella… yeah you are right… Chicago love some bernie and he loved chi-town, he always mentioned us and where ever you went to in chi you could run into him, health store, ball game , restaurant, lakefront,anywhere… Mayor Ritchie Daley was there and that house of Hope church used to be Salem Baptist church were my daughter was baptised 13 years ago, yeah a sad day for chi-town better believe it!

Just like most of us go out err’day and do a job, Bernie Mac was doing his job! he swore like a sailor, “IT WAS HIS JOB”!..I never bash anybody! who is a believer! but that man was doing his job people! I went to a Kings of Comedy show back when they all toured! and a woman in the audience felt the need to go to mgmnt and tell them she thought the language coming outta their moouths were offensive, one of the comedian’s came out and talked to the crowd, and said they respect anyone who is christian, but don’t knock them for doing their jobs, if the language was offensive leave the show!

I never read a scripture were HE urged them to change before they could follow HIM. I’m can’t speak on what God thought about Bernie. I don’t go to comedy shows were I know the language is going to be something I won’t enjoy, that’s common sense. But I loved his TV show and he made every movie he was in memorable for me. I’m really grieving him.

I do have a respectful question for you. How do you know he didn’t go to heaven? If prayed and asked for fogiveness and confessed his sin on his deathbed then God forgave him, correct? I am fairly young in my spirituality and this is the impression I have been given. So if I am wrong, please forgive me. All I am saying is none of us here know those last moments for him. Ms K, you hang in there. The one who said, “Who knows if Bernie had a deathbed confession,” is exactly right. Bernie knew he was very ill. Sam Jackson said how worried he was about Bernie when they were shooting “Soul Men” in February. Bernie lucked up with a lengthy illeness instead of sudden death like Rick James or Isaac Hayes. He had a chance to ask for forgiveness. I suspect that Bernie probably had a conversation with God before he left here. But we will never know, not on this side of the veil. We can grieve the man and feel bad for his loved ones left behind. However, God is a just God and He is not to be mocked. You can’t just act a fool and figure on going to heaven. Is there a heaven for g? Yes, indeed. It’s called hell. (if that g has not repented, which means turned away from sin, not just apologized because he was caught) God offers forgiveness, but only if somebody asks for it in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ who said “*****ody gets to The Father but by Me.” (slight paraphrase) I believe that we have a lot of debate over what our hearts already know to be truth because we want to excuse sinful behavior. Actually staring death in the face clears up excuses the same as a pistol held to the head will sober up a drunk person. So until or unless we get that sobering call of death, we’ll keep going around and around about what is sin, does God really judge, don’t all people go to heaven regardless of their conduct on earth and all the rest. God bless and keep all of you. I really mean that.

I live in Chicago. The local radio station gave up to date reports on the service. So sad to see someone so talented leave us.

Although I do find it quite hysterical that when Jesse Jackson got up to say some kind words, people started getting up and leaving.

Close, but not quite. We do not all get an automatic p***** into heaven. That is why there is the judgment. God does not “keep score” so to speak, but if you do not turn your life over to Him truly and fully, then you will reap the consequences.

“don’t all people go to heaven regardless of their conduct on earth and all the rest” is a scary sentence… Then what is the point of repentance?? What is the point of living a God-fearing life?? Why not drink, and do drugs, rape, plunder and steal if one is guaranteed entry into heaven??

The 1st thing that comes to mind is how Bernie said that he’s with his 1st wife & doesn’t have any outside kids. Although he was a very funny man this is what I will remember most about B. Mac. In that regard he appeared to be a true family man which to me makes him a role model & a real man. r.i.p & condolences to those close to him.

Before Bernie Mac p*****ed, Steve Harvey stated on his radio show that although he had met Mac, he didn’t “know him”, “know him”.(This was during the Mac/Obama uproar. And I’m sure that was Harvey’s way of distancing himself from the comic.) A week later, Mac dies and the media is making it out like Harvey was Mac’s best friend. Steve also said that he was, “just about to visit Mac”, right before he had heard of his demise. Nevermind that Mac had been in Northwestern Hospital for 2 weeks already. Steve Harvey is full of ‘ish. Just hope everyone knows this.
