The divorce statement the statement from the women of TCI, and the British divorce laws and the US laws are very similar if not identical. She may not come away with nothing, but what she brought. Check your facts before you write stuff that misinforms people. Misick has never been “charged” with rape. When Lisa’s Puerto Rican friend originally alleged being raped the police did nothing. But she went to the F.B.I. when she got back to the U.S. and she, LisaRaye, and an F.B.I. agent returned to the Islands to inquire about the investigation. And LisaRaye’s P.R. was likely behind releasing that information as well. So of course they had to open up an “investigation” to quell the storm.

In a report, made public late earlier this month, the British Foreign Relations Committee accused Misick and government ministers of am*****ing multimillion-dollar fortunes since being elected in 2003. The report also accused the government ministers of illegally enriching themselves by selling government-owned lands to developers. In addition, the report pointed to alleged “climate of fear” among citizens who complain about the alleged corruption. The United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is also investigating Misick for allegedly raping a PuertoRican woman this year. Misick has denied the allegation. Misick has also denied any corruption or criminal wrongdoing, blaming opposition figures for spearheading the accusations. GIS said that “if and to the extent that it proves necessary to the preparation of the report required by the Commission’s terms of reference, Sir Robin will then convene formal public hearings, probably in about October 2008 in Providenciales, to which persons may be invited or summoned to give evidence and/or to produce articles and/or do*****ents relevant to the Inquiry”.

Thank you for your wisdom as it seems our “global” black community – Black American, Caribbean, and African- those mainly commenting on this post, have unfortunately been accustomed to the “culture” of Black Men cheating and disrepecting sistas for so long…now rape, infidelity, verbal and physical abuse, corruption,… is not a “big deal” anymore.
We are so twisted as a people that it actually seems more normal for a Black man to cheat on a woman than to control his urges or to just leave a relationship he is simply not yet ready to handle. The sames goes for the cheating married woman as well.
But in this case, most of these married men cheat with other women, who seem only interested in the sexual and immediate lustful pleasures of an ill-fated union. The men, driven by their lust and greed, play one woman against the other, and the women are never strong enough to walk away once the facts unfold. They do not seem to understand or simply underestimate the power they possess in any of these situations.
We will better understand our worth as women by first learning that your value to this world is NOT based on whom you choose to mate. Nor is it based on what you can get him to give to you (buy cars, houses, give you money). Our success in a relationship with a man is based on HOW we choose to relate to him– ie. is it primaruly through sex, deception, manipulation, or is it based on any level of respect? i.e., mutual respect, integrity, shared common goals. Marriages based on lust almost always fail.
That is why this post is riddled with comments like “she was in it for the money” and “that’s what she gets.” No one believes that Lisa Raye actually loved her husband and her relationship with Misick quickly spun out of control within 2 years. The only thing people choose to see is that he has money and prestige, she wanted the money and prestige, she did not know “her place,” therefore she deserves to be humiliated in any way he sees fit. Folks, his “title,” regardless of “culture,” does not exempt him from treating his wife with respect.
The word “divorce” is a legal term. You are not divorced or separated simply because you publicly announce it, or you have “mentally” moved on, or you are no longer in love, or are *****ed off at your spouse. YOU ARE STILL MARRIED. If you throw your spouse out of the house that the two you lived or one chooses amicably to move out, you are still married until the legal proceedings commence.

Announcing intent to divorce without telling LisaRaye first
Allowing the Women of Turks and Caicos to publicly denounce his wife in public
Forbidding the return of LisaRaye to the house without a legal proceeding
Allowing his sister to get involved in ANY marital argument
Pursuing sexual encounters outside the marriage as he sees fit throughout the marriage
Allegedly raping your wife’s friend inside the home

is a great examply of someone who does not respect the institution of marriage on any level. Do not think that his behavior would be any different if he married someone else or an “island girl..” This is one tragic, corrupt Black man. And this is NOT common behavior to expect of any man.

I’m not really sure what to think about this. And its sad that some people are acting as though LisaRaye being beat up is funny when it’s not. Ladies, you do understand the difference between cheating on a wife versus cheating on a mistress, jump off, girlfriend, trick… Unlike the latter, the wife has legal rights and can exercise them to protect herself from emotional as well as physical harm. Apparently, a lot of “mistresses” who are offering silly opinions on this blog are not aware of this. All wives are aware of this. It is up to each one, at her discretion, to exercise them should she feel the need to do so. That is the reason why when a man “cheats” and it is found out by the wife, she does not necessarily leave. Some of them start weighing their options. For the naive tramps on this blog, anytime you hear about a couple that has been married for 20, 30, 45, 60 years,… I PROMISE you there was a time or two in that relationship when the wife or husband could have called it quits,… then they start weighing in all options. Some marriages survive infidelity because there relationship has not been totally trashed by the event.
Finally, you never know WHAT you will do until it happens to you. LisaRaye is not a golddigger, she fell for the wrong man and now she has to figure out how to proceed with her life.
I applaud her for putting him on blast. She was quiet in the beginning, only to have his man w***** behavior become even more outrageous than the last act.
