Sho’nuff has passed away:
Character actor Julius Carry died Aug. 19 in Los Angeles of pancreatic cancer. He was 56.Carry appeared in more than 100 guest roles including “Hill Street Blues,” “Jag,” “Spin City” and “Moesha.”
He also appeared as the villain Sho’nuff in the cult pic “The Last Dragon.” Other feature credits included “The New Guy,” “Moving,” “World Gone Wild,” “The Man With The Red Shoe” and “The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh.” Born in Chicago, his first screen credit was in “Disco Godfather.” Carry is survived by his wife Naomi.
Also Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones passed as well:
Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones, a longtime member of Congress and most recently a stalwart supporter of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, died today just after 6 p.m. Her hometown paper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reported earlier that the police found her unconscious in her car on Tuesday night, after seeing it weave erratically. She was seeking her sixth term in Congress. And she was a prominent member of the Congressional Black Caucus as well as a recent co-chairwoman of the Ethics Committee, which she helped to rebuild after a stormy period when the Foley page scandal rocked the House of Representatives.

Wow, this is such a shock. His mom was a minister at my former church and he would come there from time to time. RIP to both of them.
What a month this has been? RIP Congresswoman Tubb Jones and Sho’nuff!
Rep. Tubbs Jones was a powerful woman…always had the courage of her convictions (i.e. I totally disagreed with her support of Clinton but she recently endorsed Obama…)and helped keep the House in order, literally. First black woman elected to the House of Representatives from Ohio, was born and raised in her district in Cleveland, was an activist, judge, prosecutor, was entrenched in the community and then went on to represent it in Congress to the fullest. She was also the ONLY member of the House that voted against Bush during a recent request for Iraq War funding when she blatantly called him out on his s–t for being a liar. RIP.
Last Dragon was my movie too but no disrespect to Sho Nuff (RIP) but damn, people need to respect/understand the significance of the life of Rep Stephanie Tubbs Jones too. And I’m not even from Ohio…

R.I.P. to both families but I still laugh when I watch The Last Dragon. That Glow is in heaven now. Cancer is a terrible thing to go through, it just seems like we are losing alot of our young black entertainers left and right, we need to seek health care on a regular basis.
