Members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity at Wayne State University have been suspended now that a young man has come forward claiming that he was beaten so severely his urine turned red and he was hospitalized for two weeks from kidney failure. Continue

Oh well — I have read of at least a couple of cases where a black frat and sorority have been suspended for hazing.

“Mainstream” colleges who have anti-hazing policies have dealt with these frats and sorities, who baiscally get away with a lot more of this stuff at HBCUs (saw it first hand).

Oh well … if it means that much to you (I always preferred the “independent state of ME”,
to hanging with a crowd, but whatever).

There are white dudes who would pay good money for treatment like that!

WOW I only thought this extreme stuff happened with White frats & sorors.

    People still haze?

    Hope they get lifetime suspensions

i am a Nupe who got his butt tagged, however i can’t condone any injuries to people, they should be suspended.

Some people are desperate to belong ….

These hazing fraternities are gay. You could not pay me to get paddled by a man. Nor could you pay me to paddle a an. The ones who apply the most force must be the repressed homosexuals.
And you got to be all kinds of stupid to take a beating for nothing.

I never understood the concept of paying for friends a.k.a greek organizations in today’s day and age. I understand what they were started for back in the day, but nowadays it just seems like a cluster of insecure people banding together in hopes that no one will notice how lame they are individually. It may be just the campuses I’ve been on, so it may be different elsewhere, but it all seemed the same to me. No offense to any greeks here, this is just my opinion.

This happens on a regular basis. He deserves it for letting them lay hands on him in the first lace and not leaving when it got the least bit out of hand. Of course, (some of) these idiots will graduate and get religion, become businessmen, clergy and forget about their shady pasts.

I was suspended for life. Hazing is wrong. I was young and impressionable.

Frats haze..so do sororities. I’m a member of a black greek organization and pledges have been beaten severely for nearly a century. My father pledged in the 1960s and tells a story very similar to the young man in this story…the difference is that he stuck it out and didn’t snitch. There were others on his line who couldn’t take it and dropped gracefully without bringing the whole chapter down with them. Right or wrong, the physical aspects of hazing are deeply embedded in the culture and heritage of black greek organizations and people should do their research and know what they’re getting into before they decide to pledge.
