Obama Makes The Smart Move

It was leaked to the press late last night that Obama picked Senator Joseph Biden as his VP running mate. Although nothing to get excited about, we think this is a smart move.
He gets a little cred with older white folks and makes his run for the Whitehouse look less risky by selecting a “seasoned” politician with a strong background in international affairs.
Now that this is over, it’s time to go hard and push that shady McCain’s wig back.

The republicans will try to use Bidens own comments agains Barack. Biden does have 35 years of foreign policy experience… though. And I think that knowledge will benefit Obamas administration, provided that racist-bible-thumping-middle-america actually allows someone with that much african ancestry to be elected. (Which I’m still quite skeptical of.)

I like the Cain dude from VA because he’s charming and I think picking him would help him win VA, but from what I read Biden is a better pick cause he’s not afraid to get down and dirty with Republicans and he has foreign policy experience that Obama needs…that way Republicans can shut the hell up about Obama and his camp being inexperience and he surely needs someone on the team that will and want to smack McCain upside the head when he gets outta line.

I believe Biden will be a strong complement to Obama — he brings a punch to the campaign that I think is needed as the race has entered choppier waters, and the polls have tightened. Biden has some gaffes in his past, but he doesn’t back down from a fight, and I look forward to seeing him in action, particularly in the upcoming vice presidential debate (which will be moderated by Gwen Ifill, a sister).
While McCain hammers away at Obama’s weak spot — his foreign policy experience — I think Obama and Biden can use the nation’s damaged economy and the financial worries of everyday Americans to chip away at McCain’s perceived aloofness when it comes to the challenges faced by the average American. Case in point, the New York Times today has an illuminating story about the McCains’s wealth, much of which is held by Cindy McCain: “Mrs. McCain owns 10 homes, including rental properties.
There are the condominium in the Crystal City section of Arlington; two in an oceanfront tower in Coronado; her father’s condo in the La Jolla section of San Diego; a $4.7 million condo atop one of Phoenix’s newest luxury towers; another unit on its fourth floor; and a $700,000 townhouse nearby.
Then there are Mrs. McCain’s vacation homes outside Sedona. In 1985, a Hensley entity bought the first, along Oak Creek. In 1996, Mrs. McCain bought an adjacent home for $750,000.”
Now that the Democratic ticket has been all but solidified (I can’t wait for Obama’s speech at the convention on Thursday — another historic moment. Michelle will speak on Monday.), it’s time to put away the kid gloves and aggressively broaden Obama’s connection with a broader swath of voters. This is going to be some election!

Look at how central a role he played in wife’s campaign, which, many argue, had a detrimental effect on his Hillary’s run. He even gave final approval on the pivotal 3 a.m. ad, according to the recently released internal Clinton memos profiled in The Atlantic Monthly. Also, I don’t think Hillary herself would be content with being No. 2. There would be a lot of contention in the White House, I think.
Now the pressure is on McCain and his vp pick, which was rumored to be Romney, but there are other names being floated out there. I think that decision should be announced soon — the GOP convention is coming up in a few weeks.

Girl, yes, the vp pick does matter, IMHO. Other Republicans are pressuring McCain to pick someone who will oppose abortion rights, and that is something all women voters have to view closely, I think. It’s scary for me to think about the possibility of the Supreme Court picks McCain may have in mind, etc. There’s too much at stake.

I am NOT a Hillary Clinton supporter. Quite frankly I think she and her husband Bill are as shady as a $3 bill.
But, Obama still has to be smart to win this. I do not think picking Biden was a smart move.
He could/should have picked someone who is well respected and have all the admired qualities Biden has (could be white, I am not racist) who was not bashing him in the primaries.
Second, there are ways to go about things. Not vetting Hillary was not smart if you need her supporters. He could/should have vetted her then make his decision diplomatically.
I still Biden is a racist and this will come out and serve as an embar*****ment.
P.S. I never thought Hillary would win the Democratic nomination. I said this on a blog last October and was chastised by a lot of people.

There were people in the line in front of me & there were people in the line behind me. He reviewd all the posible VPs and he made a wise decision with Biden, Biden has a son who is a captain in the military and deployed to Iraq, he brings in working cl***** blue collar voters. He has been in the Senate just as long as McCain and he knows Washington is broken and he knows that Obama will cultivate change.
McCain wants us to drill here and now. He also is investing in clean coal, solar, safe nuclear power, and other safe natural power sources. BAMA has only recently given a statement that highly similar to MCCAINs. MCCAIN will work with scientists and automakers for us to produce fuel free vehicles. BAMA basically has not have any solution to the high gas prices. Also, if BAMA does become prez, many working cl***** citizens like you and I will have even higher taxes. MY RESPONSE
1. It wasn’t McCain who got us into this mess. He has solutions that will help us get out of it and that INCLUDES DRILLING (the price of oil has decreased since politicians have even brought up the idea of drilling domestically).
2. Drilling is only a short term and small solution to our oil problem and McCain knows this that is why he is also going for other natural energy alternatives as well (look up THE LEXINGTON PROJEC).
3. The Iraq war is pretty much over thanks to the surge that was supported by MCCAIN and not BAMA
4. BAMAs plan for universal healthcare, however, is too expensive and to only way to pay for must of it will require hugh tax increases on the middle cl*****. McCain plans to give tax credits to citizens who do not have insurance to select their own insurance. (My spouse currently does get insurance from his job and has to pay out of pocket. This will help many Americans find insurance they could work with.)
5.Regardless who becomes president PRO Choice will not change. Bush and Bush, Jr are prolife and each were in office for over 8 years and were not able to get ride of prochoice.
6. As a person of color, I do not want a job based only on my race. If someone does not want to hire because I am black, then I do not want to work for prejudice people anyway.
7.The majority of the so called tax brakes for the wealthy to to many corporations whom working cl***** citizens depend on for food and other important supplies. If the taxes go up on the coorperations, the coorperations will only put the burden on us.
I do not work for either cantidate. I make and sell clothes for a living. I am not telling you to vote for anyone just to make the choice that is right for you on election day. As stated before, my decision is already made.

@Tony, USAToday is a sh*t newspaper, but they did do an interesting article on irradiating vegetables. For myself, folks aren’t eating enough leafy green things in the first place to worry about irradiating taking away taste and texture.
What bothered me in the article was that even though the big stores were refusing to buy contaminated goods from Mexico — the little stores were, and they were making gangbuster killings on those potentially contaminated Mexican goods because ensuring that produce is SAFE means that the produce costs more. So people would rather take their chances on unsafe food which is a couple cents cheaper. That’s a bigger problem than irradiation.
So you have all these mom and pop stores, and mom and pop restaurants, and regular people going down to buy food ‘off the truck’, in spite of that food coming from the same sources of salmonella that killed over 1000 people this year.
And the irradiation issue came about in the first place because (again) people died. So what’s really going on, and how can it be fixed so that irradiation of fragile leafy greens is unnecessary?

I just think the whole Salmonella scare was bull*****. I know that people died, (about twelve) but it wasnt on the magnatude to start sterilizing vegatables with radiation. Yeah Black American may not eat a lot of leafy green stuff and vegatables, but a lot of people do. It just really frustrates me that a lot of people arent taking this seriously.
