professionally done or not…that shyt damages your hair. Whether its sewn in or glued. Its not good for your hair to just sit there. I know chicks who go egt wash and sets with the weave sewn in. But when u finally take out the weave and braids….you still have to get treatments and trims to salvage that shyt, bc your hair got FUCKED up.

A lot of people get weave to stop taking care of their hair and that is where the problem comes from. You should care for your weave just as you would care for your natural hair. When you do that you can definitely benefit from weaves. I have friends who weave their hair and it grows..
Its all about caring for your hair. I remember when I decided to go natural I kept my hair in twists and my hair had never been so healthy and thats because I cared for my hair

DENVER — Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) told convention-goers Monday that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is like baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson – enduring jeers without the ability to hit back.
“Barack Obama has the capacity to hit,” Jackson said a breakfast panel just before the opening of the Democratic National Convention. “But he is in the situation where he can’t hit back, which Jackie Robinson could not do. … He had to be able to run the bases, even though the crowd was jeering the first African American on the field.”
Jackson, son of the civil-rights leader, said Obama is in the same situation: “He has to keep smiling, because no one wants an angry African American in the White House.”

I know you guys done stopped talking about weaves and hair care but I must say that all these sistahs who are saying that weaving is good for your hair have not convinced me. Its a bit like saying acrylic is good for growing strong long nails. I dont believe it.
When men started getting corn rows, I’d see so many men who previously had fades to having hair longer than their sister once they started growing it out. Maybe we need to take tips from the brothas and find out how they grew their hair so fast.
I’m actually sick of seeing famous black women with these same hairstyles, that same layered Jennifer Aniston weave, the relaxers, and all that. In fact, it is starting to look silly to me. Now I understand they work in an industry that is 95% looks, 3% talent, and 2% connections but this is ridiculous. If black folks have to set up their own parallel theatre, musics, movie, and television, then I say do it.

I urge you to go back and read my posts. I clearly stated that satisfaction of the foundation of the pyramid does not equal remaining in the foundation level.
Even if you are at the top of the pyramid, you clearly have to eat, breathe, drink water and HAVE SEX.
I find it interesting that Maslow never stated that promisous activity prevented one from achieving the highest level of the pyramid. He did however claim that without satisfying the foundation of the pyramid you couldn’t achieve it’s highest level.

· Why is rape often treated as a crime against the victim’s husband?

Do you think a simple “power” trip answers ALL of these questions? I saw you are concerned about your daughter’s future. If so it would motivate you to know as much about this topic as possible.

Not on the ASSUMPTIONS about the character of the person presenting the facts.
Your statement “men can find willing sex partners” leads to the questions: Why is there prostitution? The easy answer is “there is something ‘wrong’ with the men.” This is very simplistic and inaccurate of prostitution considering the diversity of the clients of prostitutes.

After reading some of these comments, i get the impression that Sydney is over-analyzing something that can be attributed to nothing more than primal urges brought on by basic human nature and physiology.
