I don’t think your “sexual urge” theory fits all situations either, and, I’m sorry, but you seem to have a pretty primal view of sex. And, yes, I think power and control are two primary motivators for rape — men can find willing sex partners; there’s a deeper pathology behind these heinous acts than the urge to be screwed.

And I don’t have children, but, yes, if I do have a daughter, her safety will be a great concern for me.

Why are you attributing the opinions on sex by psycologists to me? Someone stated that “power” is the motive behind rapes and I merely pointed out that this is the profile of one of four different types of rapists. And that makes MY view on sex “primal?” Sydney, you are better than that. You are capable of reviewing the information presented and making an informed decision based on the facts. Not on the ASSUMPTIONS about the character of the person presenting the facts.

Your statement “men can find willing sex partners” leads to the questions: Why is there prostitution? The easy answer is “there is something ‘wrong’ with the men.” This is very simplistic and inaccurate of prostitution considering the diversity of the clients of prostitutes.

Again, when you do have children I hope that you are fully informed from the real threats out there. You should look at all information with an eye of skepticism….. not just the information you don’t agree with.
