Get your fact straight. black people don’t have the power to be racist. We can be prejudice, like everyone else is. But not racist. For you to be a racist you have to have enough power to be able to affect another race, for instance affect a race ability to gain employment, residence, to affect the way their children are raised and taught. We don’t have the power to be racist. And the world is prejudice. Chinese are prejudice against muslims, and people from Tibet. South Americans are prejudice against mexicans. Berg is ourselves, and although I do not appreciate black being synonimus with ugly, there is a difference. That is Flav and Bigge who are not hansome men. But there are plenty of Dark Skinned men who get major props like Tyrese, Tyson, David Banner… This issue is not that Berg referred to a single person, but made a blanket statement. Like if you have pretty features and a pretty body you are still not hot because you are dark. It is not the same. And personally I feel sorry for Berg because is a victim of our society, he is not the only one who thinks that way. I am constantly involved in convo’s about rich black men only date light skinned or white women. It’s not true but it is a perception. We all know there is a color bias in this world and in our community, but it is a disease and should be combatted, it’s not okay to perpetuate the stereotype that black is not beautiful, and if you say something to that effect you are going to feel the heat not on NBC, or CBS but on black blogs, in the streets and on the radio, this is the only way we can change some of these negative images is to call them out and put them in their place. Don’t you let nobody tell you your sistah’s ain’t beautiful, from the bluest black to the highest yella.
