In the lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Henry alleges battery and conspiracy to commit assault, and is seeking unspecified damages.

The plaintaiff alleges last May, when she was four months pregnant, Northcutt got his cousin to “maliciously assault, beat, strike and batter her in the face and head with great force and violence; causing severe and permanent disfugrement to her face,” reports TMZ.com.

Sources have confirmed that Henry did file a report with the LAPD regarding the incident that allegedly took place outside the Falcon Club in Hollywood on May 17.

According to statements made by the Defendant’s sports agent, Jerome Stanley, “This was nothing but a desperate shakedown by a jilted ex-girlfriend who is claiming to be pregnant with his child. Henry is upset becase Northcutt dumped her for another girl. As for the assault, Stanley says, “She verbally antagonized the guy who hit her. Northcutt knew nothing about the attack until after it happened.”

In reponse, Henry’s lawyer Loyst P. Fletcher, just gave TMZ the following statement: “Mr Northcutt and his entourage, which included his current girlfriend, were apparently angry that Miss Henry refused to abort a child that she believed he fathered. Words were exchanged and a memeber of that entourage, whom we believe is Mr. Northcutt’s cousin, viciously attacked Miss Henry. She’s now 7 months pregnant,” says her attorney.

I guess you missed the entire point of the “boss vs husband” post. Do you not have similar goals with your “partner” as you do your “boss?” The point is that one is readily accepted and the other isn’t. One of the vows in most Christian weddings is to “honor and obey.” Do you think this should be ammended? Also, men, whether you recognize it or not, have bent over backwards to try to develop a family structure that is proven not to work. “Multiple” leaders is a recipe for disaster. Maybe McCain and Obama should “share” the presidency as well.

From those who can so simply say that the woman in this case was just some gold digging groupie who must be shady, since she was in a club while being pregnant, I would have hoped that you would have been raised with better sense than to excuse an assault on a black woman by a black male on the basis that she must be a “hoe.” This is the reason why so many other races do not respect black women – apparently too few black males (and black women, also) respect black women, or right and wrong for that matter. It is not okay to hit someone, male or female, on the justification that they said something to provoke you, unless you are a three year old child who doesn’t know any better. And just because a woman is pregnant and at a club does not mean that she is a bad person. People drink and smoke at restaurants, does that mean a pregnant woman should not go to one? And people act out of pocket on the street all the time at any unforeseen moment, does that mean all pregnant women must remain in doors to prove that they care about their unborn child? But it’s okay for a man to treat a woman anyway he wants to because to say anything against them would be tearing down the black man, and we all know that poor, defenseless black football players just need our protection, right? She set him up, must have raped him or something? How dare she get pregnant and go to a club and say it’s his baby, because black football players never have sex with women they’re in relationships with, and get caught up in the heat of the moment, like the rest of us non-football playing folk do, and forgetto use protection.

Speaking as one who has been physically abused by a former boyfriend, and someone who lost a friend when her abusive ex-boyfriend took her life, leaving their child without a mother, I’ve realized that the reason why violence against women is so rampant is because so many naive and uncompassionate individuals would rather look the other way and blame the victim than speak out on how people should treat one another and to those that break the law punished. The majority of women who are attacked and murdered everyday are attacked by their boyfriends, husbands or other males that they know. It’s very comforting to know that so many here would defend men like that by tearing down a female’s character instead of pointing the finger at the male who orchested it.

But your comment encouraged me, and I know that there is still hope for us. I hope that we can end this war between our black men and women.
