Getting married before you have a child only gurantees that you did “the right thing” live a little longer and you will come to see married couples who raise disfunctional children who contribute nothing positive to the world. Live a little longer and you will see married couples where the husband is just a “body” in the home and has no part in raising his kids. The ideal is marriage first, however live a little longer and you will know that a good home with one parent can be more productuve than a two parent household with no substance.

People are great at missing the point. No one is saying that all marriages are perfect. That would be naive. And many functional productive adults come out of single parent households.

All I am saying, and it is not that hard to understand, is having a child produced in wedlock has more benefits than having one out of wedlock.

Raising a kid costs these days. If you want to do that solo, have much money in the bank because I don’t want to pay someone else’s too-dumb-to-insist-on-a-condom tax, the too-dumb-to-use-birth-control tax and the too-dumb-to-pick-a-responsible-man tax. Some people misinterpret Genesis 6:1-4 to mean that angels procreated with human females:

Adam was not an angel, he was a human man, yet he is called “the son of God”, because he was the handmade created offspring of God. Similarly, angels, who are also the handmade created offspring of God, although on a higher level, are also called by the term “son of God”.

In Job 1:6, a meeting of God and angels is described:

“Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.”

Luke 3:38 and Job 1:6 show the term “son of God” being applied to men and angels.

We should use some common sense to see if if makes sense that angels would even want to interbreed with humans. Would any modern man find a prehistoric cave woman attractive and want to procreate with her? No, a modern man would most likely regard a prehistoric cave woman as some type of animal. Likewise, why would an angel be interested in procreating with a lower form of life such as humans? Angels have unrestricted access to all the sights and wonders in the universe. Plus, they have face to face contact with God. I can’t imagine that, with all they have seen, they could be captivated by a human woman’s beauty.

To angels, humans are probably just a little bit above animals.

Just imagine, they build more “prisons” every year than “housing units.”.. Well, there is a saying, with which I do agree to a large extent, that women raise their daughters and baby their sons (or words to that effect). In my experience, it was not only my mother, but my father, who stressed the importance of self-sustainability to me. I was taught that I could not rely on anyone else to take care of me, so I had better equip myself with the tools — which included education — to ensure that I would never have to. Yes, we’ve often discussed the belief that women cannot raise men, and, at the risk of offending anyone, I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. As much as we may try, there’s no way we can understand the intricacies of manhood — thus, having a father in the home is paramount to providing a model for boys to follow. Fathers are also invaluable in the lives of daughters.

What I disagree with is a-s-s-i-g-n-i-n-g blame to any one gender for why we now have a dominant family structure that does not include a male head of the household, in many cases. I think we all share responsibility and progress will come once we work as a community to address and alter the environments in which we’re raising the next generation.

What I see time and time again on this site is a staunch reluctance to take responsiblity for personal actions. It’s always someone else’s fault. It’s rare that you find individuals who admit that men AND women exhibit flaws and share responsibility for our current condition.

This site is blocking my posts. In summary, I was on a date with a woman who had a Vietnam Veteran-type, post-traumatic stress reaction due to some severe beatdowns she used to get from her ex-bo yfri end. I was shook. You can get arrested because of a hysterical woman. She calmed down and tried to calm me down because I was not trying to catch a case off of some mess another man left behind. Needless to say, we did not work out. She should have been in therapy addressing her trauma, not on a da te.

You both bring up a good point about incarceration and the prison system which is a business. I do believe a lot of black men are locked up and given sentences that are much too high, and also being in prison for crimes they didn’t commit…… I’m not saying all are innocent, but they are some who are.

The point that you keep missing, what differentiates choices black people and white people make, is that our biased criminal justice system has created a prison and ghetto culture in black communities that is readily accepted. In regards to education, it’s my opinion that parents should become as involved as possible in the schooling of their children, which means attending PTA meetings, getting to know their kids’ teachers, helping with homework, etc. The education of a child does not end when the school bell rings. It continues at home, each and every day.

This applies to some, because I have definitely talked to some mothers during community service who genuinely care about their children’s education, but miss PTA meetings because they are working 2 jobs to pay the bills….. When you do community service, you get a different understanding of some people. Not all are lazy, and some really do care about their children’s lives.

You may be right about SSI benefits for some mothers.

I also think two parent homes is the #1 answer to stopping the cycle.
