"Mom Convicted of Hacking Son's Facebook Page"

This entire situation falls under Random Ridiculousness. Lane New, 17, sued his mom, Denise New, back in April for hacking into his Facebook account and posting an embarassing message. Denise claims she was trying to save her son until the judge read this message she posted on her own Facebook page:

‘the biggest mistake I made was having a child’

She claimed she did it to try and correct his behavior. Clark County District Judge Randy Hill didn’t buy it.

“What kind of lesson are you trying to teach him? What is it exactly you’re trying to teach this young man,” Judge Hill commented before issuing his ruling.

The judge read that Facebook message aloud in court.

‘Check this out, I went to my mom’s house, deliberately started an argument with her and called the police on her and she almost went to jail, how funny.’

“To me that, of all the things that were said or done is potentially the most serious because what she was doing there was trying to make it look like her son had lied to the police,” Judge Hill said.

New was sentenced to 30 days in jail but the sentence was suspended provided she can meet the terms of her one year probation. That includes paying a $435 fine, having no contact with her son and completing anger management and parenting classes.
