Like Foxy Brown, Teairra Mari is whining about Jay-Z not giving two shits about her:
Teairra Mari officially launched her comeback journey with a new sexy spread in this month’s KING magazine. The former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam singer shows off her ass-ets in KING, while revealing her feelings about ex-boss Jay-Z and past label mate Rihanna.
On Jay: “I was calling Jay my father. I love you like my father because my father is not in my life. Jay didn’t even call and tell me [I was dropped]. I was hurt.”
She also talks about Lil’ Wayne. “He’s a good friend; we’ve hung out a couple of times. I was attracted to him for a second, but then it grew into a nice friendship. He’s a charmer, like an old-school kind of guy.”
And when the subject turned to Rihanna, Teairra got downright catty. Teairra took offense to some comments Rihanna made to Atlanta’s Peach magazine regarding her dismissal from the Roc. Rihanna said, “You have to be good to people. I could very easily say its all karma…”
“They asked her how she felt playing second fiddle to me, which I never felt [she was]. She had the number-one song in the country on Hot 100; I didn’t, so she couldn’t be playing second fiddle to me. When I heard that I was upset, like, ‘Why would she ever go there? Keep my name out your mouth, sweetie.”
Awww, such is life though, pretty much everyone on that label got shitted on. SMH.

Jay Z is good at repping himself but not other artists. The people who got great promotion when he was at Def Jam were doin the damn thing anyway…Ne-Yo, Kanye, Luda. Anybody who wasn’t hot or moving he didn’t give them the time of day and at the end of the day that American Ganster album he had wasn’t breakin record sales either.

Yeah, Jay-Z was supposed to pay for my college tuition, but he didn’t. So Teairra, come join us at the back of the line.
Teairra is a good singer, loved all 3 of her songs that came out. Glad she’s making a comeback. Teairra is right, Rihanna needs to keep her name out her mouth. When Teairra came out with her first single, “Make A Girl Feel Good,” she was advertised as the First Lady of the Roc. She was supposed to be the big star and Rihanna just another act. However, her album flopped and Jay-Z saw more potential in Rihanna and dropped Teairra to endorse Rihanna. Rihanna’s interview in Peach Magazine was bitter and uncalled for. Rihanna can’t even sell albums herself, the biggest hit of the year with umbrella and Good Girl Gone Bad took over a year to go platinum.

I can’t remember the song she had but I thought it was cute…the same with Rhianna, but she needs to understand the businees is fickle…they can’t poor all of their resources into two artists…so they picked the one with the most cross over appeal…and Rhianna – dominatrix, rocker pop girl was born….not that she’s any good but with the right resources, contacts and a good stylist anybody can come up

How is Teirra hating on Rhianna when Rhianna is the one that was talking slick about her in a previous interview? Teirra is responding to what Rhianna said. I would have something to say too. Jay is shady to everybody, just look at his p***** record. Def Jam could have pushed the girl harder and released better single choices. Rhianna had the edge because she came at the time Reggaeton was picking up and she was the Carribean pop singer.
Anyway, I Teirra can sing, she just needs better material. I wish her the best with her next album.
I don’t feel sorry for her because she wasn’t all that good to begin with and Jay probably didn’t feel like he could have her developed into what he has paid for Rihanna to be developed into!!!

Teairra Mari is from my way [Detroit] and believe me her attitude got the best of her. From the moment her first song came out she thought she was the business. Her attitude became so stank *****ody wanted her ***** back in Detroit… so some of what Rihanna stated was true. It’s all in how you treat people because many of your actions can come back and bite you in the *****.
Jay Z… I don’t know what she expected… regardless to how she thought their relationship was it’s still a business… yes it was foul that he didn’t call her and tell her what was going on but what made her think he would.
What alot of folks tend to overlook… Teairra Mari was signed to Roc-A-Fella Records whereas Rihanna was signed to Def Jam… no one sold units on Roc-A-Fella except Jay Z… so low record sales weren’t surprising and then tie in the material that was being released… what really made her think she would be awarded another cd. That No Daddy song and video effectively ended her career on Roc-A-Fella Records. Pon De Replay had a nice buzz and Def Jam saw an opportunity to push Rihanna more. Her second release If It’s Loving That You Want didn’t bomb like No Daddy so she survived. When she picked up the Nike endorsememt/ SOS Nike video her footing at Def Jam solidified. After that the songs and hits came. I applaud Rihanna’s success because I’m sure at one point she was on the same shaky ground as Teairra Mari.
Now Teairra Mari bringing up Rihanna and her comments from Atlanta Peach Magazine… just her plow to get some attention on her because she’s about to release some new music. She should let her music speak and stop bringing up Jay and Rihanna in every other breath because when her comments start to overshadow her music she will be in the same position she was in a couple of years ago… no record deal… looking to point the finger at everyone else when the finger should really be pointed at herself.

These female artists tend to forget the industry is a business. It’s not about having a “father-figure”. It’s about getting your grind on and making your way to the top. They need to stop looking at some man to save them – Jay put them on but the rest is up to them.

What the hell is Teiarra talking about??! Rhi was so second fiddle at the time! All I ever saw were a heap of promo stuff for her and an expensive video. Rhi didn’t get ***** and a cheap ***** video for pon de replay. Furthermore a friend of mine met both as she sold one of her songs to the label (not saying for which singer/song because i don’t want to single her out due to her opinion of one of the ladies; she has to work in the industry). She said that Rhi was really nice and down to earth but T was a ***** with zero manners; just straight hood. She said she could see that T was hating on Rhi and it was clear they didn’t get along, and that Bey didn’t care for T either.
I want to support this girl but she keeps on crying over this *****…she did something really grimy in her Roc days…which lead to her sudden/phone call dismissal…this is something she fails to mention or own up to….she should shut her mouth now so it doesn’t come out…karma is a ***** though…
