Shante Broadus Speaks With S2S: “When Snoop Wanted To Divorce Me, He Asked Me What He Should Do???”

Snoop Dogg… Behind every great man, they say there is a great woman and for Snoop Dogg it’s his wife, Shante Broadus. In the latest issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine, Shante Broadus graces the cover. She breaks down what it’s like to be Snoop’s wife and what life was like when her marriage was on the road to divorce.

Jamie: There was a tough a time for you all – and I think Snoop got lost – when you all were talking about the divorce. It was so much coming at him. And he even asked you what he should do.

Shante: Yeah [laughs] Girl, he didn’t know. You’re trying to leave me and you’re asking me what you should do? So he didn’t know, it was just a lot. And you know I understand. It’s hard for me and I’m just his wife. He’s actually the star.

Jamie: Why is it hard for you?

Shante: Because people look at me and think, “Ooh, she’s married to Snoop.: They think of me as some other person and I’m so not that person. It’s only people that don’t know me, of course. But I think it’s jealousy. That’s all I can think because I haven’t done anything to anybody but taking care of my kids and being a wife to my husband.

Jamie: But he had all those women around. He had that TV show. That was a lot of pressure. That’s a lot of pressure on most men.

Shante: It is pressure. I mean, these women, they’re out here trying to take something home. So they’re not playing.

Jamie: Does he discuss that with you? Like, “this happened to me or this woman tried to do that or say that”?

Shante: Well, if he is coming to me talking about it, he didn’t do or say nothing.

Jamie: How long have you been married?

Shante: 13 years as of June.

Jamie: So has the love light gone out or are we just used to one another now and just look at each other?

Shante: We’re used to one another. I mean, it sucks that his job requires him to be gone a lot, but I would prefer that than my husband here all the time broke and in my face. [laughter] So, it works out. We’re older now and I know that he’s not going anywhere, I’m not going anywhere. We’re here.

Jamie: What did Snoop say to the kids when he came back? How did he explain that? Because sometimes it’s good to show vulnerability, that parents are parents but they’re not perfect.

Shante: Right. Again, when he came back, we had the talk. And my mom was a part of it. He was just letting them know the he was sorry and what it’s like to live his life as an entertainer and it was hard and he thought that was what he wanted and that’s not what he wanted. And he told them why he came back, because he loved me and them and this is what he really wanted to do, be a family.

Snoop Dogg and Shante were going through a divorce about 5 years ago and made it through it, but what does that say for the chick Snoop was seen kicking it with overseas??? Maybe Shante just accepts that as apart of Snoop’s lifestyle as an entertainer…
