I say: stay the same or else she will end up with the big head syndrome…

she should stay the way she is if she’s happy that way.

She should work with what she has but the reality is she does not have the figure for MOST of the outfits she attempts to wear. The reality is that a lot of fashionable outfits are not made to fit a big back,big arms, big breasts and big stomach. Jennifer would look best in a fitted (not tight) dressy blouse and wide legged pants (again not tight)and high heel pumps. She should always go for sleeves to cover the top part of her shoulder.

She should stay jus like she is, she is gorgeous. But I do think she should pick outfits that better compliment her figure.

She definitely needs to tone it up a little bit.

She needs to lose a lil weight in those arms…

If she wants to loose it, that’s on her. She looks absolutely fabulouuuuuus. One thing I like about her is her confidence. Her stance is – “this is me, like it or hate it, but this is me.”

I once had a friend in high school that was about the size of Jennifer and she taught me a lot about confidence. She would wear bikinis to the beach, while I was covering up in a one piece, plus a hip wrap weighing 140 lbs. She would play beach volleyball, try to get a tan (basically enjoy herself).

Jennifer has the confidence (and the academy award) to pull off any of these outfits.

She doesn’t look bad…but I wonder how much that Oscar is helping her career…cause I can’t tell…

I’d say she should do what’s right for her. I do agree that she should see a doctor and find out what is a healthy weight just for health purposes, not society’s thoughts. I don’t agree with her becoming just another skinny artists to be more “appealing” to society. Sometimes that is not mentally healthy for a woman that has to be something she is not. I really like your comment because it’s not all negative like other people. I can honestly relate to Jennifer cause I use to be really big at one. I do believe that some women are truthfully happy with being big so I wouldn’t say it is an excuse for being lazy or excuse for failure. There are alot of bigger women who love themselves and have much more to offer than just their appearance. I lost weight because my doctor told me I had to before I ended up having heart trouble. I love my appearance now as I did at that time. I enjoy be healthy because I’m much more active though. Saying things like she looks nasty or calling her a fat b***h is just uncalled for. You are not helping her in any way, in fact you are the ones that cause low self esteem issues to the point where some women take their own lives or have eating disorders. Anyways I wish her the best in becoming healthy. Are people really happy to be big? or is it a front? I ask this because in my early twenties, I struggles with the pounds, never really big, but not healthy either. And I use to say the same things…but in truth, I was not. It was a front, because deep inside I WAS NOT HAPPY. Rather, an acceptance.

Now, Jen is a beautiful woman, I do think, for her health, she should focus on the midsection primarily because gaining weight in your stomach leaves the door open for a slew of health issues.

I don’t believe that we are all made to be skinny (and skinny does not equal healthy). Yes, black women have more shaped, but stop fooling yourself to believe that black women are made to be bigger (weight). All that soul food and stuff is slave food…leave it alone. I can honestly say I was happy until I got the health news to answer your question. Maybe I wasn’t as obese as some of the really heavy women but I was about Jenn’s size and only 5-5 1/2. Not every big woman is crying at nite or just accepting it. I do understand what you mean cause there are some big women that let themselves get that way from acceptance. I try to help many out just from the experience. Now I’m pretty healthy and more on the thick side still working out, but I’ve lost incredible amounts of weight and still have the same boyfriend that loved me when I was bigger and he’s in shape himself. In fact he keeps me motivated. I’ll say guys that passed me by in high school have regreted it everytime I visit my hometown.

Congrats to you and your personal success and for having a man by your side that loves you for you. That’s the way it should be. I agree, there are a few large women out there that embrace their bumps and humps, and many men that love them…but if you love yourself, why would abuse it in such a way. Gluttony/slough comes to mind…trust; I’m the last to throw stones. lol but that’s how I see it.

If I come to truly love myself, then I would nurture and honor myself. I’m not honoring myself if I’m disrespecting my body, and sitting around. That is a disservice to you. Life is so much more. Side note…though, I do believe a large part of the issue is most women, black women, are so busy giving themselves to their husbands, children, careers, etc…we put ourselves last. But, I said it once and I will say it again, being skinny doesn’t guarantee good health, you can still have issues with cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, and blood clots…but excess fat does help.

On a personal note, it was always easy for me to hide the extra pounds…I’m a tall girl, but I wanted to look good naked, like wow. lol, that is my measurement…I don’t believe in the scale…it’s all in how you look and feel. I even became a vegetarian, though I will eat fish.

Jen is a beautiful girl, but do I think she is happy at her size, no. She should be proud of success thus far, she’s lost a lot of the time, but she is not being realistic with her body image. All the photo shopping. In 2007, she told In Touch magazine that she was 140lbs. Jen…serious? She’s 5’9 girl? Tyra Banks is 5’10 and 160. lol

I think other folks feel better when they can point at someone fat and say….oh the fat hog is depressed like we want. I’m happy because I know that doesn’t define me. I’m cute as can be, smart, funny, fun, I love activities, last doctor check came up great, I make money, work hard, I try to be a good person, career oriented, travel internationally. I think I have so much more to offer so I’m happy and I think I will be happy when I lose weight as well. The people that I’ve met so far that put too much stock in being thin(and I mean anyone thinking that jennifer is fat), that is all they are able to offer..thats it. Okay listen up! The reason Jennifer should lose weight is because being a star is not just about being able to sing. You must have a great image as well. People buy music based on star quality and image, as well as a great voice. She needs to get the total package together. Therefore, get the heck in the gym and tone up and do some sit ups. Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Beyonce and many many more stars already know this.Beyonce gave up Popeyes Chicken because it caused her to gain weight. Beyonce would be huge if she didnt watch her figure. Jennifer likes to act tuff and tell everyone to kiss her a-s-s and she will wear what ever she likes etc. That attitude will work against her if it is not used appropriately. It is already working against her. She must know when to use that and when not to. With the weight and the big tummy, flabby arms, and wrong clothes for a plus size large woman, Jennifer stop!!! Use common sense and stop pretending to be so tuff and like you dont care what people say. Get real! You are human like all of us women and you do care about that big pouch in front of you.
