I dunno, it seems like she is coming out with all of this now because her money is low. One would think that she would take a more serious tone if the true purpose of her putting this book out is to help other victims of abuse. If I were an abuse victim, I would not take her seriously, because there is nothing humorous or lighthearted about being beaten or raped. And as for her being the reason Left-Eye burnt the house down, PLEASE. That is just another way to try to sell a damn book. She should be ashamed.

This is why I laugh when I hear women say “they want a thug in their life”.As a social worker,I hear domestic violence issues all the time from women and they all seem to follow the same pattern:

1-woman suffers low self esteem to the point that any man who gives her even a little attention now dominates her.All attention is damn sure not good attention.

2-relationships started too young for woman to understand who she is as an individual.School becomes a thing of the past,all hopes and dreams end up in the toilet.

3-no positive male role model growing up-most women who end up in these types of relationships either had no father figure or the one they had was a control freak too.Most women tend to go for men who remind them of a male figure they grew up with.

When I began working for the prison system,I was sent to work with the women and at least 75%of them had some sort of domestic violence in their life.I decided not to do DV support groups because I felt that they would only tell their stories and not seek solutions-I began self esteem workshops 3 days a week where we began to show women what a positive relationship looks like,why she deserves positive relationships and how to tell when a man is not in their best interest.We also made sure that they realized that they DESERVED positive relationships.I can’t tell you how many women had a very different outlook on life once they really got into these workshops.

I’m not saying that people should feel sorry for Pepa,but this could easily be any of our daughters in the future-we have to teach them what is and what is not acceptable.

Why is it that when we hook up w/someone of questionable character, we are surprised when the results go awry? That old adage, “Lie down with a dog and you get up with fleas” is so befitting with stories like this. She did say, however, that she had to do some soul searching as to why she picked a certain type of man. I think w/a lot of women that it boils down to either, 1) having a man at all costs, or 2) not having enough self-esteem to make better choices. Let me add, men make bad choices too that’s why so many of them are bitter. Sometimes we know from day one that the person isn’t right for us (we get that nagging inclination (like she did about going into that house) that says, “Don’t do it! Yet we push past it anyway, and then we wonder why we end up in a bad place. This is not only to women. I know this from personal experience. I know love is a powerful thing, but sometimes matters of the heart can lead us down a long, dismal path. Maybe we believe we can change the person. WRONG!!!

Be caution in not only a bad neighborhood, but any neighborhood. Haven’t you heard stories of a wanna-be model/actress being lured into some stranger’s Hollywood Hills home only to never be heard from again?

Pepa obviously does have low self-esteem which is why she acts so over-the-top with all the extra weave and revealing clothes. She should have focused more on getting an education and settling down like Salt did, but they are two totally different people with totally different backgrounds. And when they parted ways from the music, they grew apart to an extent. Pepa is nearing 40, so I think that this book is helping her to heal and grow.

WOW! She was laughing, was she high? Was she on dippers? She laughed the whole time she was telling us a story of a possible gang rape.

The craziest part was when she laughed as she said, “They was gonna get us.”

I like that Pep came out to share her story with everyone except for the Left Eye and Andre Rison part. Left Eye should be respected. She isn’t here to speak for herself. It’s hard to believe because not one time was Peps name mentioned during ‘the burning the house down’ fiaco! So don’t bring Left Eye into the story to help boost sales for a book.

I think Pep is stupid as hell. I mean, between the reality shows and everything else, it shows this broad is really hungry for two things: Money and Attention. unlike sperhead and faith’s tell alls, i would buy this book because i’ve been abused as a child and can totally relate. If this woman can reach one child who’s being abused, and encourage them to reach out for help, then that’s a good thing.
