@ Takealook – I took a look and found that the page you referred us to was full of factual errors. Martin Luther King Jr. was not a republican. If you’ve read his autobiography, then you know that because of his goal to achieve Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity for all, he knew that it would take working across political lines and remainng neutral on things that were not condusive to reaching this goal. In his book “A Measure of a Man” he wrote that as a clergyman well as an activist and had to use all of the weapons in his aresenal at times which caused him to remain neutral. There is no record of him voting for Kennedy but the relationship he had with the Kennedy was a tenuative one, however he was said to have worked very closely and well with LBJ, who signed the civil rights act into law. We was a classic independent and did not affiliate with either political party. Just ask his children. Martin Luther King Sr. wrote in his autobiography that HE was @ one time a registered republican, but after the Kennedy’s help procure the relesae of his son, he thanked them and started to lean more to the left. It was after Nixon won the white house that King Sr. changed his party affliation to the democratic party and stayed with that party until his death in 1984.

Exactly @ Deano!!! You also define you as having “an attitude problem” if you don’t bow down to them and allow them to keep believing that they’re better than you. Trust me!! Hold your head up when you walk into any establishment where “they” think you shouldn’t be, or don’t belong. You can feel the tension and the hate… especially if you keep your head up and maintain your cool. They’d prefer to burn your ass to a stake, than let you order one (a steak)!! LOL!! Po’ ignorant thinking fools!!!

This is just another instance of subliminal prejudice. Whenever an african american shows intelligence and self-confidence they are considered uppity by society. It’s ok for a caucasian person to be educated and self-confident, because that is how they believe it should be. But, let an african american show intelligence and self-confidence and they are uppity, because (as they feel) it should not be that way. It’s not about money as you never hear anyine describe african american athletes or entertainers as uppity. It is only when we rise to a position of power through our intellect that we become uppity because we challenge their authority.

Actually I don’t because i am a single mother who works for $7.35 an hour. So no I don’t have $50 for you to borrow and it’s simple minded people like you that continue to make tension between whites and blacks an issue. So have fun spreading your hatred. I have come to the conclusion that the republicans couldn’t even spell the word “Uppity”. They are so jealous of this man’s intelligence and ability to articulate and hold the attention of masses of people. They have real personal issues to many to mention (any time you can be persuaded by bullsh**t and manipulation tactics something is definitely wrong). Hell, stimulate my intellect. They have taken all of Obama’s concepts and slogans yet don’t even sound convincing. And let’s not forget that they talk about Obama being elitist and uppity, hell, they are the ones who call themselves conservatives. What’s the problem They can’t live up to your name?
