We just had to drop line about being fatigued with seeing the “Darryl Willis” BP commercial.. The PR team was quite predictable with finding a southern brother to do the bidding of the corporate manifestation of the devil. Oh yeah, not only is he a brother, he says he is a “volunteer”. Ooooh–the historical victim who lives in Louisiana is down with BP.
Don’t all employees “volunteer” for jobs in America? In a recent interview with Advertising Age, Darryl talks about “Mr”. Feinberg, how he is happy to be the face of BP in the commercial, and seems to use “we” a lot. (See Malcolm X on negroes who use “we” a lot in the context of grouping themselves with corrupt people when in fact they are individually are innocent). How many damn stacks are they paying you to be “happy” about representing a certified corporate criminal on TV?
For those who can stand watching the commercial again, the video is under the hood
