Please do not attack this man! Think about it…. with the high unemployment rate amongst African American man, the dude did it bcuz he needed the money & a job! That’s y I am not mad at him. I don’t think he was necessarily trying to do the bidding of BP. I think that he was moreso trying to represent the people of the area.

yeah it was very predictable and typical that bp would use a southern black man as their”face” during this situation, but , surprisingly, I somewhat agree with WWR’s post. Let this not be another b/i/t/c/h and moan session about how “the man” blah blah blah- but rather a reminder of the dirty (yet subtle) ways that we get played by the powers that be aka “the man”- and that yeah, we still gotta keeps our eyes open and fight real dangers; violence, unemployment, stds(aids), etc.

Whether they did put this guy up because he is black or he really just volunteered, none of us know for a fact how it went down, but one thing we do need to do is focus on the issue at hand and try to lend a helping hand. Not get mad or falsely accuse someone.
