Jermaine Jackson Thinks Chris Brown Should Be Forgiven

Jermaine Jackson hugs Chris Brown onstage at the BET Awards

Chris Brown has the support of Michael Jackson’s brother, following his touching BET Awards tribute. Yesterday we asked if he should be forgiven…. Jermaine says yes! Pop the hood for his words

Jermaine was so touched after Breezy broke down during his rendition of Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ at the BET Awards, that he expressed his hope that Chris Brown’s critics to forgive him for beating up Rihanna:

“He’s a human being like all others, we all make mistakes. What he did was wrong. I love Rihanna… I’m one of his biggest fans… We can’t condemn him because of what happened. We hope he learns from this,” Jackson told TV news show Extra.

“He (Brown) deserves to perform because it’s healing for him. How can he learn from his mistakes if you don’t give him the chance? He needs that. I support him a thousand per cent; I’m not supporting what he did because it was wrong, but, at the same time, we have to give him a chance,” he added.

Jackson added that he was greatly moved by Brown’s tribute to MJ, “It was very emotional for me… It was just a spectacular moment.”

As we all know, Jermaine is no Michael, still it’s a pretty heavy endorsement. Jermaine Jackson wasn’t the only one pushing for Brown to be allowed to push ahead with his career, although people have been divided over whether or not Breezy was faking the funk with the tears during his Michael tribute.

I don’t think he was faking those tears…you could tell he was really choked up and unable to sing…

Everyone deserves a second chance if they are willing to change their ways…obviously the song ‘Man in the Mirror’ hit him hard…

  • Ummmmmm.....

…Maybe so, but I cannot forgive Jermaine or his barber for that hair!

    • LOL

LOL….THAT HAIR IS THE COMEDIC RELIEF OF MJ’S DEATH…WHEN I SEE HIM SPEAK I JUST LAUGH

  • PRETTYGIRLSWAG

ITS NOT UP TO JERMAINE JACKSON OR ANYBODY ELSE FOR THAT MATTER TO FORGIVE CHRIS…ITS UP TO GOD AND THATS IT. WE HAVE NO HEAVEN OR HELL TO PUT HIM IN..

and i completely agree with him..chris should be forgiven

  • LaDiva

    @ Caramel Cat

I agree. I thank God that He is my judge and not ppl b/c mankind is not one to give second chances despite the fact that we are not perfect. I’m so thankful that my Lord has blessed us all with His grace. And my happiness and grace is contingent with God and not others…

    PrettyGirlSwag:

You were on point when you said that “WE HAVE NO HEAVEN OR HELL TO PUT HIM IN.” However, people have condemned Chris and GOD does ask us to forgive so that we might be forgiven. This is how I view the scenario.

  • underwsr1

    PRETTYGIRLSWAG:

You are on fire! I feel the same way because when Michael was living it was Wacko Jacko and folks were giving him the business. Even though he was acquitted of the child molestation charges people were still condemning him.

  • Hannibal

A WOMEN BEATER PAYING TRIBUTE TO A CHILD M0LESTER, SMH…

  • they killed mike

    @ LUV MIKE JACKSON

WOW….I THINK WE WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS “MOVED” IF DENZEL CRIED TOO. IF U GET MY DRIFT.

O WELL, DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES.

  • RazeKane

Jermaine…I agreed with you when you mentioned that michael should be buried at neverland, also agreed with you when you wanted to turn neverland into the next graceland, but there is one piece of advice you best not mention to chris brown and that is…how to do his hair.

    @ pretty girl, I beg to differ; the media has made his life a living h e l l on earth for the past year; but Chris just needs to keep on keeping on;

We ALL will reap what we sow; it’s the law of God and of the universe; for the good and bad and KARMA comes calling for us all

people, especially today with this technology, feel so powerful — thinking they can make or break somebody with awful words on social media.

what goes up must come down; and one must careful of all the butt we kick on the way up (Rihanna, JayZ and Beyonce and the machines behind them) because these will be the same butts you gotta kiss on your way down.

it ain’t over and I for one that God has kept control; which is why he tells us to fret not because of evildoers.

    All we’ve got to be is real and as right as we can; the rest is up to God;

people who cannot forgive are the ones who are going around with the poison within them.

So what!! whoever missed the show missed the second most memorable event in BET award Show History; the first is the Michael Jackson/James Brown reunion.

And Michael was at the forefront of it all; Michael wouldn’t hate Chris because look what Michael suffered. Why do we hate Chris so much?

Because in hating Chris and what he did, we somehow feel better about ourselves, even if Rihanna wouldn’t give us the time of day.

We like to feel like we’re better than others, until our stuff gets put on front street.

I’m sure many of you don’t know that Chris had on Michael’s clothes as he did the tribute. Those with hardened, bitter hearts could not possibly know how Chris was affected by having the honor of wearing Michael’s beloved glove. I would have been emotional, too; I’m sure Michael was there and was telling Chris to “go get ’em”

Y’all just hatin cuz Chris is the real deal and you HATE it and don’t wanna give the boy his props.

It was right before your eyes and YOU STILL DIDN’T BELIEVE IT.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOLK TO DO FOR YOUR HATING, BITTER HEART.

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED . . .

This is the promise for all God’s children.

So, yes heaven does exist, but hate makes this and what we are going through h e l l on earth.

    KARMA . . . huh!

We all will REAP what we sow; for the good and the evil we put out in the universe . . .

  • Cafe Au Lait

I’m just glad Chris didn’t trip on all that juice Jermaine got leaking from his head…

  • GOLDEN_314

WOW…. DID LLOYD TELL CHRIS BROWN TO CRY…LMAO THAT’S NOT A GOOD LOOK!!! EVEN THO I FELT CHRIS WAS REALLY EMOTIONAL & HEART FELT BUT SOME PEOPLE WILL QUESTION WHAT LLOYD SAID!! THANKS LLOYD FOR RATTING HIM OUT!!

  • cruzan trini

That moment was about MICHAEL JACKSON and this buster made it about him.

It reminded me of how there is always once person at a funeral that cries the loudest and throws herself on the casket, and only met the person once.

  • S M H

And it’s been more than a year — Chris has paid enough! but to some, never enough. but you know what, that’s YOUR problem, not Chris’

    TeamBreezy All Dang Day!!!
If Jermaine, whom stood Michael while they were the J5, can accept Chris doing a tribute, what the the world is wrong with you people.

It’s a shame before the Almighty God; as if Rihanna was Jesus mother.

Anger at Chris at this point is severely misplaced.

  • Miss U Much MJJ....Lovely1

@Hannibal It was so nice when you weren’t around. Why don’t you just GO AWAY???

    @LaDiva
I think your being a bit harsh. Jermaine was probably asked about the performance and he answered. I agree with Jermaine! Everyone deserves a second chance if they are truly sorry. I may not buy Breezy’s music but he should be given the opportunity to just live. We sin EVERYDAY and God keeps giving us chance after chance after chance.

FYI to everyone out there. You can’t talk about God in one breath and then trash people in the next. Blessings and cursings cannot proceed out of the same mouth.

  • Lisa

@PrettyGirlSwag—I agree with you. MJ died from a broken heart when the world turned against him during those child molestation charges. When he passed away, I was quite p/i/s/s/e/d that NOW people want to give him his props, but it’s too late. He needed that same admiration and love from his so-called fans when he was alive, that we gave him in death.

CB is in the same boat. We can either kill him (in spirit, mentally, or physically) or breath a new life into him and his career.

  • jswang

hannibal you are an idiot! What are you? Your username is Hannibal.

  • PRETTYGIRLSWAG

@smh..I DONT KNOW WHETHER YOU ARE AGREEIN WITH ME OR DISAGREEIN WITH ME..SO PLEASE EXPLAIN BECAUSE U SAID YOU BEG TO DIFFER BUT EVERYTHING U JUST SAID I AGREED WITH

@UNDER..YEAH I KNOW IM ON FIRE LOL IM SO GLAD MY LIFE IS NOT IN PPL’S HANDS..YES PPL DO WRONG AND TO ME I DONT CARE WHETHER YOU A FAMOUS SINGER OR WORKING AT A GROCERY STORE GOD LOOKS AT SIN THE SAME WAY..BUT THAT HAPPENED IN FEB OF LAST YEAR..IT IS NOW JUNE OF 2010 AND WILL BE 2011 VERYYY SOON…AGAIN..WHO ARE WE TO KEEP TO FORGIVE HIM..HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE (LOOKIN…) UM THATS WHAT I THOUGHT. AT SOME POINT IN OUR LIFE WE HAVE ALL DONE WRONG..NOBODY WANTS THAT HUNG OVER THEIR HEAD..HE HAS APOLOGIZED OVER AND OVER..ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

  • cruzan trini

I love how all the Bible beaters keep preaching that forgiveness. I bet if he beat up your daughter, sister or mother like that he’d be the last person you would want to see on TV.

  • Hannibal

ALL I’M SAYING IS, MICHAEL WAS FAR FROM A SAINT, I MEAN, ALL OF THE LITTLE BOYS WILL TELL YOU THAT. MICHAEL WAS GREAT IN THE 80’S, BUT AFTER THAT HE WAS WACK. THE TRUE KING WILL ALWAYS BE, ELVIS!

  • ME

I agree that Chris should be forgiven. However, forgiveness is an individual choice that usually comes with time. Unfortunately, some people will never forgive him and many others haven’t yet gotten to a time and place where they are ready to forgive him.

But over all, I hope Chris Brown and other young people are learning from his experience. There are many people who are either in jail for life, dead in their graves, dying, or in all sorts of other horrible situations just because of ONE mistake.
