*UPDATED-FIXED Exclusive* Claudia Jordan BET Awards Explains Why We Should Forgive Chris Brown [Video]

  • Me

Perhaps if we were given a chance on our own to forgive him, we would. But instead, The producers of BET decide to take the Michael Jackson tribute to try and use MJ’s memory and energy to resusitate this loser’s career. Chris Brown will never be Michael Jackson, no matter how much be wears the white socks, hat and jackets and no matter how much he trots around stage and sheds those crocodile tears. If he was truly sorry, it would be genuine instead of a staged event. He and BET should be ashamed of themselves.

  • ayana

Well ME speak for yourself. Why are folks like you always looking to complicate something that is simplistic and sincere? That old negative aura trying to kill life is in full effect with you. Evidently the Jackson’s had no problem with having him perform to lift up Michael’s remembrance. So why should you, me or anyone else’s opinion matter? BET has nothing to be ashamed of, because the best person was selected and supported by Michael’s family to perform. That much emotion could never be staged. I like that BET embraces the talent and not the drama. They put a season in place for the situation that occurred — and now it has past. Everyone who still has an issue with Chris should just do an about face, open the door and walk out and go to a better place for them and leave him alone. Jermaine Jackson is right, he needs to heal and being back on stage and performing is healing. Chris has found self-forgiveness and that works for me and a multitude of fans and supports. Go buy yourself some Michael gear and call BET for a chance to get on the stage if you can do better….. NOT!!!!

  • Penfold, shush!

First, I would like to say, Claudia Jordan could get it. Second, I don’t even care for BET, but I applaud them for letting CB pay tribute to the greatest entertainer of all time. They couldn’t ask him to do it last year because of all the other “goings ons.” I first thought it was staged because Chris is not the best singer. I quickly changed my mind because you can fake tears, but you can’t fake snot.

  • charlieblanko

    she has a valid point…

We gotta start at home with forgivness first. F*ck everyone else… also

  • MS. DOIN ME & NOT U

    OMG @ Penfold, shush!STOP IT!!!

AND I CO-SIGN WITH ayana AS WELL. YOU SAID IT PERFECTLY.

WE ALL FALL DOWN, BUT WE GET!!!

  • Tasha

    @charlieblanco That’s so disappointing.

  • Sheila

There is an old verse in the bible, “Judge not lest you be judged”. We have ALL done some things in life that we may not be proud of but the only one to judge is the man upstairs. We mere mortals can’t get Chris past the pearly gates. All of you with your holier than thou attitudes. Chris is a human being who erred and I truly believe he has learned his lesson from such a costly mistake. He was up and coming and in one night put his career in the toilet. My father used to physically abuse my mother so I know I’m dead set against any man putting his hands on a woman but I do believe in second chances and this young man clearly is deserving of one. “He who is without sin, cast the first stone.” We as Blacks are so quick to condemn each other. He made a mistake, time has passed, let us move on. As someone stated earlier, BET should be commended for they did embrace the talent and not the drama. Much love and success to Chris.

  • MsDtown

lol @ Penfold, shush: First,…. and also lol@ can’t fake snot

My opinion: Give Chris Another Chance!!!

  • obie

i see it like this…. compare chris and charlie sheen. now j and z his wife and that girl who provoked him by hitting him up side the head w/ a high-heel shoe. boycotted bet cause the boy was performing. but i bet you had it been “charlie sheen” j and z, the wife and girl-friend [ri-ri] in tow. would of been grin’n ear to ear taking pictures w/ sheen. you haven’t seen charlie making contrition or feeling bad for beating 2 wifes and calling the first wife a ni##ger…. maybe this is why the law in colorado went so light on his case.

  • christmas808

my question is? why is chris on BET begging… most blk people still support chris…he need to be begging MTV and mainstream white media they the ones how buy albums…..with that said white america will neva forgive chris he just gon have to settle for Plies status in other words #hoodfame

  • j’s world

    @obie

Rihanna has a tour and she had to perform so she couldn’t attend. Rihanna said long ago she forgave him and wished him the best in his career. Funny how people say give him another chance when MJ didn’t commit a crime and people african american and caucasian didn’t give him a chance.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we “excuse” offensive behavior; it doesn’t mean forgetting or even trusting the person who harmed us. Nor does it require us to “let go” of our safety. Rather, forgiveness means to let go of resentment and find peace. To forgive is to “grant release from payment.” To put it into other words, it means to release someone from obligation. We don’t try to make the other person pay for what they did.
Forgiveness is not removing the consequences of someone’s actions, but accepying that sometimes a consequence is enough to bring about a positive change.

  • TPain

I heard she had talent rocking celeb microphones if you kno what I mean. Lol. Free Chris Brown!

  • Niki

The well known Hollywood wh0re is at it again putting her foot in her mouth like does every single day on Twitter

  • Money Mike

I don’t see why folks give Claudia a hard time. Like Ice Cube said. Let the lady eat! Hooes gotta eat to!!

  • Real_talk

I don’t agree with what he did but its not for me to judge and honestly,I am more appalled at these so called GOD fearing people @ radio and TV stations who have let this blackballing go on..I think Chris broke down because he has carried the burdon of every man who has ever done anything wrong against a woman for the last year 1/2. Rhianna herself said to let it go,the judge ordered a restraining order against them both;(which is rare for a judge to do in 1 sided altercations)but all these hypocritical people have taken it upon themselves to single him out and destroy any hope of recovery.. (C.B. was 19 years old when this happened)with proper guidance he CAN change. To me saying someone doesnt deserve a second chance means you think. Once a cheater always a cheater once an abuser always an abuser..Once a junkie always a junkie, this isnt ALWAYS the case…the people who have succeded with AA, ALaNON, Narc Annoy, etc prove that sometimes a second chance is all it takes. If everything you did in the dark came to light how many of you wouldnt need forgiveness from somebody:?

  • keepin1t100

Black folks gonna do what they always do remember him when he is gone in the most positive light like they did M.J. to me what we he was accused of was far worse, but at the end of the day he was still able to make a living, all C.B. is looking for is the same chance..you dont have to buy his music but you dont have to purposefully block him from making a living where people do want to hear his music or see him perform.. what Chris Brown deserves is for people to leave him the h*ll alone, if you dont like him change the channel, dont buy a ticket..How is he supposed to move on and do better whether he sings or not when our society continuously punishes him for a “what was” instead of rolling with “what it is” right . Even in the court of law DOUBLE Jeopardy attatches jeesh

  • shoes

penfold i agree snot cant be fake and the last thing did any1 notice the lyrics he got out half way ” not enough 2 eat who am i 2 be blind”,”gonna make a change 4 once in my life “,”this is wind is blowing my mind”, and “And 1 man’s soul”. Then gets extra emotional in the chorus at the part “I’m standing with man in the mirror”, also lets out that whew.

  • Houston we gotta P!

Chris Brown for president! F**k the B**ch with the penciled in drawn in eye brows though

  • Chocolate Sister

Why does this girl always look and sound a mess

  • DEZIRE

Someone missed medication time at the asylum.

  • CriticXtreme

Chris Brown should never ever be compared to Michael Jackson because he’s not! Maybe Jesse Jackson but not MJ. He should be forgiven. And again, Chris, if there’s a next time that you have to slap the taste out of a female mouth, make sure it’s not someone everyone loves who has zero talent.

  • SexyBlack81

At the end of the day Chris Brown deserves to be looked at as an artist. He is a talented singer and dancer. It’s been 2 years and things tend to get old. The problem with people going forward in life is that they tend to live in the past. What’s done is done and we can’t change that. He doesn’t need forgiveness from Man because Man continues to fall short.

  • Umm…

    woooooow.

  • LaLa25

The problem is we all have seen the picture of RiRI after Chris beat her up, and I think that is what keeps a lot of people from forgivig him and not being supportive of him, even now years later. We should not judge, it is wrong to judge other people but the close up of RiRi’s messed up face keeps popping up in my head when I hear Chris Browns name, just being honest. He is talented and I wish him the best.

  • Adrianna

I don’t believe Chris Brown is truly sorry for hurting Rihanna!

There is only one person who has to forgive Chris Brown – Rhianna! I am totally against woman battering, abuse etc but at the end of the day I wasn’t hurt by him, nor my family, nor my friends. So I really don’t get to forgive him.
More time, most of the people outraged at his behaviour are not Rhianna fans anyway! I don’t get it! Same with Tiger Woods, that big apologetic speech he gave… for what? He didn’t cheat on us! We are not his damn wife!

  • NicoleUK

    @ Yasmine

FYI Yardies are Jamaican not West Indian

  • andrea

AYANA SAID IT BEST,WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND WE EXPECT TO BE FORGIVEN HE IS HUMAN AND DESERVES NO LESS THAN ANY OF US. IT TAKES TWO TO HAVE A FIGHT,THEY HAD A FIGHT GET OVER IT. RHIANNA IS DOING HER THING LEAVE CHRIS BROWN ALONE.

  • Denyce

I hope she gets what she deserves which is a foot up the azz!
