And if she’s looking even further into the future, a man who degrades/devalues/berates black women would not be an ideal husband nor father of black children. What could an individual with such perceptions possibly teach his black daughter, for instance?

Of course most black men (or men period) would choose Vanessa Williams over Sherri Shepard or Whoopi Goldberg. Vanessa Williams is beautiful (irrespective of her skin tone) and Whoopi and Sherri are not very attractive (irrespective of their skin tone).

Furthermore, your claim that 99.9% of black men would choose Alicia over Kelly is problematic. To suggest that nearly all black men would make the same choice ignores the fact that black men are NOT a monolithic group. They have a wide range of experiences and value sets that would influence their preference one way or another.

Of course, colorism might create a bias in favor of Alicia, and maybe a majority would choose her based on that. However, the simple matter is that not all black men have a preference for light-skinned women. I know quite a few men that prefer dark-skinned women and there are others that refuse to date light-skinned women (for various reasons).

On the rare occasion, I’ve actually defended black women on this site as well. I pointed out one time how black women are underrepresented in Hollywood and I even acknowledged to Sydney and a few other people that there are some good lack women out there that deserve respect who no one pays attention to. I also defended black women against a racist white chick up here before. This isn’t really defending, but I also stated that black women were the most attractive women in my opinion.

I’m gonna comment but who really cares, he says his johnson decides look at what he uses to make decisions…the wrong head…we as BLACK Women give these men (boys) whatever who make these statements too much attention. I havent seen the show, and dont know this man. But he should date who he wants. Dude! I understand the psychology in that. Perhaps his mom and grandmother were overwhelmed because THEY!!! had to take on the burden and stress of raising a male child or children with out the help of a father (black male) and as a result, his emotional, and psychology needs were probably not met. So, he probably saw what a struggle it was for his mom and grandmother and decided that thats how it would be with most black women.

I still think based on his adulation towards them present day I feel he holds them both in high esteem. Most boys do unless they were abused. Regular hard scrabble treatment is usually accepted as the norm to typical boys I would think. That is unless they are sissies-lol!

Anger (ill-gotten emotions) blind a lot of people from the truth. Ochino & Reggie B. are NOT worthless piece of black men. They are college-educated, successful black men who are WEALTHY. You are not in a position to put down such a worthwhile brother. This is why some of you on hear are so angry…and pretending that you couldn’t care less. It’s the same ghetto mentality that we’ve seen back in grade school: jealousy, angry, etc. due to low-self esteem & frustration. These men do not bother me with their choices because I am happy and confident within myself. How many brothers that these black females are with have creeped around with WHITE women, etc? Black females are still the only one trapped in their mentality. These men have dogged them after saying whatever to get the drawers. Now all they have is bills, frustrations, unwanted kids with issues, etc. Wake up, get it together. Think long & hard before getting caught up in the moment and get your life together and stop worrying about some athlete.

Several of you are missing the point. As one person stated earlier, it’s not that black women have a problem with Chad having a preference for other races that upsets black women. The fact that Chad completely EXCLUDES black women is what’s most disturbing. He’s the type of guy that will pick an average caucasian or latina woman and want even give a GORGEOUS black woman a chance.

@Big B Brother you are right. Lets not leave Chilli out of the mix. She went out of her way to exclude the brothers. She was very rude and confrontational with them. She should be put on blast, too. However, she is–in my opinion– the exception to the rule.

Omarosa’s show, for example, had one white guy and all the rest brothers, and maybe one Latino. Even though, Donald Trump, who is white himself, is funding the venture. Pepa, chose an Asian, but at least she gave the brothers a chance. And she wasn’t rude and disrespectful to them.

Most black women will put up with a lot of isht just to be with a black man, oftentimes when it is not in their best interest. But you have to give them props for the loyalty, even if the guy doesn’t deserve it. That doesn’t mean this will always be the case. What it does mean, is that we need to step up our game.

Many more Black men, on the other hand, don’t have any qualms about crossing the racial divide. As I have said before, people should be able to date who they want to. The problem, from my perspective comes when you dis your own, in favor of others. Both Chad and Chilli, in my opinion are guilty of this.

I used to follow him on twitter but stopped after one day he was on Ustream and seemed visibly irritated and upset that he was out in the sun and got darker. I think he is a handsome guy but he is entirely too full of himself for my taste and IMO hates his skin color.

Hoodspokesman is obviously white. People of lighter persuassions who don’t particularly care for black people, I ask you this, why not patrol your websites. The ones that promote hate and the like. I have a dark skinned daughter who is model beautiful, as I am always being told, and I fully intend on encouraging her to keep her options open. Black women are alone because they choose to only date black men, not because they have no other options. I pray that she finds a man, regardless of color, who will love her and be a good partner for her. If he’s not black so be it. A man from another race will likely respect her more than men from her own race would anyway. Sad. Also these days black men seem to only be good at making babies and leaving us to raise them anyway. Fortunately I am not in this siutation but I see it all the time.
