Janet Jackson has signed on as spokesmodel for fur firm Black Glama, and of course the singer rubbed PETA the wrong way by rocking a mink in her new ad. The BlackGlama ads, featuring Jackson captured by top photographer Rocco Laspata, will run in magazines including Vanity Fair, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar later this year. Jackson will also appear on a BlackGlama Billboard above Times Square in New York City.
Past BlackGlama legends have included Sophia Loren, Diana Ross, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minnelli.
When asked about Janet’s decision to be BlackGlama’s new face, we think PETA spokeswoman Amanda Schinke went TOO FAR, saying:
“It’s amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn’t think that Janet was this desperate…Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognize that both occur in the production of a fur coat.”
PETA is asking Janet Jackson to quit the campaign and donate her furs to be used as bedding for orphaned animals.
WHAT? Did this out of pocket beyatch really just call Janet desperate??? THE NERVE
Is she trying to say something about Michael with that business about “suffering and unjustified death”?
