You can’t really blame the doctors, I’m assuming that she has that rare condition that makes people appear dead because their heart rate slows beyond detection so they get really cold (sign of death) as well as very shallow breathing (you can hardly hear it). Add this to the high fatality rate of immature babies and it’s easy to see how this mistake was made. We’re all human and we all make mistakes, stop being so quick to judge and be happy that you still have your child!

This is clearly a case of a doctor and his staff not doing thier job, but the miricle is the fact that the family was able to hear the baby alive in the coffin before the actual burial. This was truely a blessing despite the initial heartache. I hope this doctor and the hospital will properly compensate the family for this horrible error and for thier suffering. The hospital needs to do a better job of it’s checks and balances, and if they don’t have a system in place, I’m sure they’ll have one very soon.

wtf i dont think this story is true…how can the baby have been alive if it went to the morgue and got embalmed?? you can have a wake or a funeral without having the body embalmed…

This is truly a blessing, but in most cultures and religions embalming is not common practice b/c their funerals closely follow after death.

In lots of places in Mexico, they don’t do the week at the morgue and embalming stuff like here. It usually takes only a day after death when they do the funeral so I can see how the baby could’ve been alive. Same thing happened to a family friend, he died on a Thursday in the morning and by Friday late afternoon they had him in his casket being taken to the cemetary

This is why wakes were created in the first place. to see if a person is still alive they used to be at a persons house. But now it’s just a ritual and you don’t have to embalm your family member if they don’t care for it. Some religions are against it. God bless the baby and fam

MEXICO CITY — The Mexican newspaper Reforma is reporting that a newborn baby girl, who authorities said revived in her coffin, has died.

The baby, who had been declared dead by doctors then stirred during her wake, died at General Hospital of Pachuca, the newspaper reported this morning.

Thursday, Hidalgo state Attorney General Jose Rodriguez said the parents heard a strange noise coming from the tiny casket. Opening it up, they found her crying and very much alive.

Rodriguez told state public radio Thursday that the doctor who pronounced the girl dead at a hospital in the town of Tulancingo is being investigated for possible negligence.

The baby, was born prematurely on Monday.
