Indiana Pacers draft pick Lance Stephenson is doing damage control.

As BOSSIP previously reported that Stephenson had been arrested for allegedly pushing 21-year-old Jasmine Williams, the mother of his child, down a flight of stairs.

BOSSIP was contacted this afternoon by a spokesperson for Lance, who offered the following statement:

Lance Stephenson’s actions do not reflect his esteemed future career or the public reflection of the Indiana Pacers.

The responsibility of Stephenson’s actions will be handled with proper legal consequences if needed due to the alleged incident. The amount of emotional strain affecting Lance, his family, and of those involved are firmly being challenged by Lance’s sincere desire to obtain emotional help.

Lance’s overwhelming past has no connection to his inspiring future with the Indiana Pacers.

Is it just us, or was that confusing???

Lance has already had his share of problems with the law, and now it looks like he could potentially face felony charges. SMH.

    This is some bull. He, as a man, needs to stand up and say, “I MADE A MISTAKE. VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. JUST BECAUSE I’M A SOON-TO-BE NBA PLAYER DOESN’T GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO LASH OUT…I WILL TAKE MY PUNISHMENT LIKE AN ADULT AND MAKE AMENDS.”

    Seriously, they’re treating him like a product or something. This is a grown man who assaulted a woman. And I wouldn’t even call it ‘DOMESTIC VIOLENCE’, they’re not married. That’s too soft a term: this is VIOLENCE, RAGE, AGAINST A WOMAN. Plain and simple.

    This should not be tolerated. HELLO! Micheal Vick got more heat/time for beating dogs. And this is a a human we’re talking about.

    His team and everyone else who represents him, is wrong if they don’t make a statement saying, “WE DO NOT CONDONE THIS AND WE ARE CONSIDERING WHETHER OR NOT HE WILL INDEED PLAY/BE SIGNED…” Otherwise, they’re saying it’s okay for players to commit crimes as long as they run up and down a court, dunk a ball, or make that pass/touchdown really well.

    Sad.

    @She Said It

    Darling you’re an absolute idiot! There, now that I’ve said that, this man struck a woman and no matter how much talent he has, I for one am sick and tired of these men abusing women and getting away with it. He needs to be BANNED from any NBA involvement and tried in a court of law. PERIOD!
