Rules are rules and he’s not an exemption. He must live in Haiti for 5yrs to be eligible among other things. I get that he wants to do good, but things happen for a reason. His charity is under investigation for mismanagement of funds and I don’t think this is the best time to run. Haiti has a strong history of corrupt officials and he doesn’t
need his name even whispered in the same catagory. If he really wants to be president of Haiti, then he should clear his name, pay his debts, live in Haiti for the next 5yrs, become more active in the political scene, and then he’ll be more prepared to run for government. The country really needs a strong leader who’s really about the people and who will do right by them. Until then, he should do all that he can to still help his people.
