Ho Sit Down

Posted by Bossip Staff

This broad stay running her mouth. Now “Sarah Palin” is saying Barack regrets not choosing that Shady Hillary Clinton as a running mate:

Gov. Sarah Palin says Sen. Barack Obama just might regret not picking Sen. Hillary Clinton as his vice presidential running mate. “I think he’s regretting not picking her now, I do. What, what determination, and grit, and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way — she handled those well,” the Alaska governor told Charles Gibson in her third and final exclusive interview with ABC News.

The thing about Barack is that he doesn’t need to choose some random ass heffah as his running mate to get the woman’s vote. Everyone knows why this Palin character was chosen, and believe us, it’s not because she’s the best man for the job.

  3. you know what bossip. Yall must have some slow *****s working behind your website. YOu remind me of tjose cartoons, back in the 1940’s, where they had black crows talking slow, and stupid, with a piece of straw hanging out of the side of it’s mouth, bare footed, and eating watermelon. REAL SLOW. YOU need to be up on the news and your game.

SHE said this friday, FRIDAY! IT is MONDAY.

  6. WhatsYoursIsMine-Fabulousness for less than $10 a day!

I really can’t believe that people are falling for her as the Republican running mate.

I don’t think Hillary was the right match for this ticket. There will always be a better nominee for each position in someone’s eyes, and Hillary just wasn’t it.

Did anyone see the SNL skit with Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin and amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton? HILARIOUS!!!!!!! And so incredibly true.

  7. Ms. Philly

Who cares what she says, Hillary WASN’T a good ticket choice, who would want to share the office with her? She would thikn she was President not VP…And if Hillary obviously is supporting Barack then thats all that should matter…

    SHOULDA

    COULDA

    WOULDA…

    DIDN’T!

  8. Fit-n-Fab

If Barack had chosen Hillary, she WOULD NOT be on the ticket.

Is she pitiful or what? it is truly a disgrace. Can you imagine the world view, just think about that for a minute.

  15. Scram

    @Stop Tripping,

You’re so right. Obama should have went with Hillary. You *****ed up son! McCain will get this one, thanks to Barack’s dumb, arrogant *****. Oh well.

  16. Aunt Viv

Oshie I see your new gravie-welcome!

And as far as Sarah Palin is concerned, she should be focused on getting her facts straight about the Bush Doctrine and other foreign affairs before throwing stones about who Barack Obama chose as his running mate. SMH.

  17. The_Truth

    ***** talkin—-VOTE!

When it all boils down, our votes speak. . .I’m done watchin these talk shows and polls. I’m waiting to put OBAMA in office, that’s it.

  18. Aunt Viv

Go chew on some moose meat or something Sarah!

  19. Talk is cheap and we need to mobilise the race is still too close to call and we have to make sure we help the democrats register new voters, get out and help campaign, attend meetings and get involved if we want BARACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE IT IS TIME FOR US TO GROW UP AND WAKE UP.

PREACH! My boyfriend’s roommate and girlfriend are mad at us, i was was telling them I don’t care for Palin based on her POLITICAL shortcomings. Screw all the family stuff (although it should be taken into consideration. I take family issues personally, no family is perfect, but they have too many d@mn problems for such a young family). She can’t get her story straight on her own political record or what’s currently going on in this country, why should she be allowed to run it?

HE ***** UP IF PICK HILLARY HE IS GUARANTEE TO WIN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT ITS STILL WHITE AMERICA

  22. B'More

where is she getting that barack ‘regrets’ picking hillary?? barack is sitting back laughing his ***** off at the republicans and their blatantly obvious ‘desperation’.

  23. HF

I saw that miserable excuse of an interview. She was obviously reciting lines she memorized from McCain’s people. When Charles Gibson asked her about the Bush Doctrine, she looked like a deer, uh, moose caught in the headlights.

    Her qualifications on foreign policy?

“I can see Russia from here.”

    Scary.

…and that SNL skit was ON POINT!

  27. Real Talk

I doubt B.O. is sitting back laughingat this situation. The truth is that this is a close race in a year that it shouldn’t be. Even Joe Biden said perhaps Hillary would have been a better VP choice and that’s who B.O. chose as his running mate. Like her or not, Hillary Clinton isn’t just any white lady nearly 18 million people voted her in the primary.

  28. Lou in the Chi

The Republicans “blatantly obviouis desperation” is obviously working. The Democrats better get with it. The Republicans are shysty and cunning. A bad combination. It has been proven that they will go to any lengths to win, so don’t be surprised by the stunts they pull in the coming months.

  29. OBAMA REALLY DID ***** UP HE SHOULD’VE PICK HILARY.THAT PALIN ***** MAYBE TRASHY BUT THIS IS AMERIKKKA FOLKS.

  30. WHITE TRASH THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY…….!!!!!!

  31. Papers91

The republicans knew what they were doing by having her make that statement. They have no issues to promote so instead their plan is to dismantle the democrats. By Palin making that statement she reminds the Hillary supporters that their candidate was (as they see it) snubbed by Barack. The hope of the republican party is that the Hillary voters will do one of two things. Either vote for McCain because he has a woman VP, or that Hillary’s supporters who are smart enough to see that Hillary and Palin have opposing beliefs will just not vote at all.

    ————————————————–

From CNN — Former Bush adviser Karl Rove said Sunday that Sen. John McCain had gone “one step too far” in some of his recent ads attacking Sen. Barack Obama.

Rove has leveled similar criticism against Obama.

“McCain has gone in some of his ads — similarly gone one step too far,” he told Fox News, “and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the ‘100 percent truth’ test.”

The Obama campaign immediately leaped on the quote.

“In case anyone was still wondering whether John McCain is running the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign in history, today Karl Rove — the man who held the previous record — said McCain’s ads have gone too far,” said campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor, in a statement sent to reporters minutes after Rove’s on-air comments. Rove masterminded both of President Bush’s successful White House bids.

She needs to be ignored. Palin isn’t running for President against Obama. John McCain is. We need to keep the focus on the FAILED BUSH ADMINISTRATION. Sarah Palin is a GOP diversion to make sure voters don’t pay attention to the real issues.

It’s very disappointing to see all the anti-Hillary remarks. Before Barrack the Clintons were celebrated in the black community. Did his appearance on the scene undo all the feelings we had for the Clintons? I was raised in a tough ghetto and Hillary was the only First Lady to visit our city after Rosalind Carter in the 70’s! The Obama/Clinton ticket would have been unbeatable. Remember she had 18 million primary votes; that’s more votes than anyone in history including Barrack. He wisely concentrated on delegate rich states which is what put him over the top. I’m for Barrack 100% but endorsing Barrack doesn’t mean I have to bash Hillary. I wish some of you would realize that.

  41. Lady Architect

Lol at how the republicans are really playing on the emotions of the women who were upset Hillary didn’t win the primaries. The sad part is…some of them are actually falling for this mess which is pretty idiotic to me especially when this woman has the complete opposite views of what Hillary talked about. The Republicans know that without the Hillary supporters they can’t win that’s why they put Palin on the ticket. That woman knows nothing about politics.

  42. Lady Architect

    chaka1(Check me out!) ,

You’re so right. John McCain don’t event talk during his townhall meetings anymore and She’s always attacking Obama, but have nothing to say about Biden. I can’t wait till the debates. Obama/Biden is gonna tear them apart.

  43. Underestimate Palin if you want, but before the RNC Obama garnered over 50% of likely voters. Now it’s a statistical dead heat. Maybe that is just the way elections play out every 4 years. However, all of a sudden, McCain is getting more female votes? I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Call her redneck and hillbilly all you want, if McCain pulls this off, it will be in large part because of Palin.

  45. WhatsYoursIsMine-Fabulousness for less than $10 a day!

    @Piercdbruh-

I do agree that Palin has garnered some of the female vote, but honestly, many of those women are voters that were on the fence about who they’d support. Now, I’m saying that based on polls. And you are right, if McCain does pull this off, it will be because of Palin.

No politician is perfect, but McCain added a perfectly flawed individual to his ticket. Her political record is horrible. For every plus she has, there have been 2 or 3 negative things about her.

Yes, residents of Alaska receive the payment based on their profits from the oil companies, but they also have some of the highest income taxes in the nation. That payment doesn’t keep its residents afloat.

Alaska has the highest incarceration rate in the nation.

For a governor that believes in pro abstinence education only, Alaska has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation. Alaska also has the highest rates of Chlamydia.

Every politician has to be taught about foreign policy when they come into office, but she has been depressingly clueless on several issues. The Russia/Georgia conflict, global warming, the Bush Doctrine. Now on the Bush doctrine, most Americans won’t know what it is, I myself had to look it up to see what his doctrine entailed, but Sarah Palin should have been taught that from day one. Her handlers aren’t doing her any favors.

  46. It’s the same politics with John McCain and Sarah Palin. They would rather focus on running mates than the issues. I think that is so because McCain and Palin have no substantive solutions for the issues, whereas Obama and Biden do. So, when it’s all over said and done, I am ready to make my voice heard in November and place Obama and Biden in the White House for 8 years, and I hope you all do the same. We need a change, and we can have it.

    Obama-Biden 08

  47. For a governor that believes in pro abstinence education only, Alaska has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation. Alaska also has the highest rates of Chlamydia.

That statistic would include Britstol Palin, which is all the more reason Sarah Palin needs to shut the hell up.

  48. @ WhatsYoursIsMine

The “Bush Doctrine” question was a trap. She just saw it a little too late. she should have asked for him to be more specific. I mean, could Biden tell you what he thinks about the “Obama Doctrine”? She is going to need to be more polished in future interviews.

    Pierce

  49. I Don't follow I Lead

I don’t think Sen. Obama has one minute of regret about his V.P. pick. Sen. Obama knows why McCain picked this unknown, moose hunting, sessionist supporting, earmark loving, abstinence only, pro life, no foreign experience having, Russia baiting, abuse of power loving, neophyte; to distract the people from the issues, most of which have been created by the Republican Party; issues that they have offered no solutions to.

It’s not Sen. Obama’s pick that’s the problem, it’s the American people who will look past all the negatives swirling around this women in order to justify not voting for Sen Obama. It’s those voters(and the media) that held Sen. Obama to this ridiculously high(and most times bias)standard, but refuses to question McCain or Pallin on the lies and lack of substance in their campaign. This McCain/Pallin ticket is worse that Bush/Cheney, but hey maybe people like Bush/Cheney more than they let on.

I don’t think Sen. Obama will lose, but if he does it just goes to prove IMHO that we as a country have not advanced as far as we would like to believe.

  51. Suzette

Hilary is not some “random heifer” and Obama should have chosen her. He needs the votes, it’s going to be close. She would have been smart enough to choose him as her running mate. But his arrogance in not picking her could well cost him the election. Thanks, Obama.

  52. WhatsYoursIsMine-Fabulousness for less than $10 a day!

    @Pierce-

She does need to be more prepared, for more than just her interviews.

And if you don’t mind my asking, where are you pierced?

  53. shavon denise

The republicans are soooo FAKE! I mean would she have the same thing to say about Hillary if she was running against her a McCain?? Hillary tried to play Obama, he didnt do anything to her so WTF is she talking about? She is trying so hard to appeal to the Clinton supoorters and at first I was proud of her being nominated as a women but now she’s becoming a disgrace because she is trying step on people to get to the top. She is *****-riding/sucking to get to the top and any women shouldnt promote that. Winning without any dignity or cl***** isnt winning.

  54. kigali (Why do Black girls get pregnant by thugs?)

First off this is some bull*****. She is only saying that because she is making overtures to the Clinton supporters. Clinton never wanted to be Vice President she always wanted to be President and I have half a mind to say that she wants Obama to lose so she can run against Palin in four years.

The GOP has some nevere talking up the Clinton nomination, sexism and feminism. It was McCain party supporters asking, “How do we beat the *****?” In fact go on one of those right wing websites and you can find a shirt that read just that with Clintons picture on it. You can find it on You Tube.

It has been the GOP for the last 15 years subjecting her, Bill, and her daughter to the worst kind of abuse. McCain even said about Chelsea that the reason why she is so ugly is because Janet Reno is her father. Yes, he did say that. Now that Palin is running they are trying to *****uage the feelings of Clinton supporters never mind they have been dragging her name through the mud for almost two decades. I mean, whi besides some wacked out right wingers believes that Hillary and Bill stuffed Vince Fosters body into the truck of their car? These people are insane.

Do you guys remember in the 2000 South Carolina Republican primaries, how the GOP spread a rumor that McCain had a illegitimate black baby? They did that because they wanted Bush to win and McCain happens to have a very chocolate Bangledeshi daughter his wife adopted many years ago. These people are vicious.

  55. kigali (Why do Black girls get pregnant by thugs?)

It doesnt seem like Palin can actually stand McCain her chose her in part to attrack a Republican base that couldnt stand him and that would even admit that they wouldnt be voting for him if she wasnt on the ticket. This race has been turned into Obama vs. Palin. I hope Joey the Shark creams her in the debates. This guy is a known loud mouth.

  56. Reggie08

I tried to warn all you Obama supporters about this type of stuff. I am very disappointed in my people to think that our little 13% of the U.S. population is going to bring about change in voting results in the U.S. I have been saying Hilary since the beginning. It is not our time, and we should learn to play the game before we can become major players in it. Now, we don’t see Obama posted all over the t.v. anymore, like when Hilary was still a candidate. This is why we are loosing because people are so in need of change..that they sacrifice logic for emotions. SMH! I think I’ll change my political party now, because I’m cleary on the wrong side.

  57. Katherine

Bossip, for one this is old, for two instead doing a daily “I don’t like Sarah Palin” post “ho sit down” how about you do a daily post reminding your readers to get out there in vote..Obama needs are support but not like this..

  58. Why choose Hillary?? They would never have been able to work together as a team! This woman ran this man’s name in the ground during the campaign,,so why choose her? You have to look at the long haul. I’m quite sure his top advisors were against her as a choice. She is not someone that you can work closely and intimately with, under the cir*****stances. It is pretty clear that she would not have played “second” to this man, and even that her and Bill would attempt to run the Whitehouse and take credit from him. She smeared his name pretty much to the point that McCain recycles her campaign ads and negative spin for his OWN use. Hilarious! Ms. Picky Palin was only chosen and is being “used” as a token to *****ist McCain with stealing the Hillary Clinton female voters. Who by the way are basically just feminist women who are not true and loyal democrats, but are seeking to support a cause and an effort for the “first woman president” ! A true democrat would support the party and it’s views. Switching to the republican party vote in an effort to place a woman in power is irresponsible and a disgraceful act of betrayal to the party. What will they do if McCain and Palin push forward efforts to over turn “Rowe vs Wade” ?

  59. marlon

    ***** PALIN!!!. OK that said.

How are you guys planning to win this election now? Cuz the blaming of all the crap on the repugnicans and them choosing Palin is crap. We tried to win on star power it aint happening. The only thing that will make OBAMA win is if somehow he manages to get out genuine views. HE WILL WIN IF HE GETS OUT HIS VIEWS AND THEY ARE GENUINE POLICIES THAT will affect real positive change.

The ball is now in your court.

  60. marlon

o yes Repugnicans is my invention and its the coolest name so far.

  61. got2bghettob4u

The sad part of this is:

Even if Hillary were the VP candidate, you know these folks would still be comparing the VP spot to the Presidential spot? They aren’t even trying to recognize “Big O” as a Presidential Candidate. Why are they comparing the Number 2 spot to the Commander -n- Chief spot? WTF is up with that?

  62. @ Reggie 08. I tried to warn all you Obama supporters about this type of stuff. I am very disappointed in my people to think that our little 13% of the U.S. population is going to bring about change in voting results in the U.S. I have been saying Hilary since the beginning.————-

(SIGH) WTF? We are not doing this alone! WE KNOW THAT! Our 13 % is not enough. The white vote got him the democratic nomination and the white vote will help him get the presidential win. There is also a large pool of unregistered voters and new voters that have turned 18 that will be coming out in record numbers, due to the influence and interest in Obama. Give him credit for that. But, Go ahead and switch. It is Judas’s of the world like yourself that holds things back from progress. Obviously you are not solid in your views on anything , and therefore, can blow in whatever the direction of the wind blows. “If you don’t stand for something”..you will fall for anything”. I am going to look for your blog after the Obama win. See ya on November 5th..when the Bossip site reads. ..OBAMA DID IT! YES WE CAN!!!

  63. i found out this is not really her this is a pic of someone else and the just pasted her head on there with a computer. they are just gettin rediculous with this ***** i dont support her i support obama but still it need to stop

  64. @ kigali

First off this is some bull*****. She is only saying that because she is making overtures to the Clinton supporters. Clinton never wanted to be Vice President she always wanted to be President and I have half a mind to say that she wants Obama to lose so she can run against Palin in four years.

    _____________________________________________________

cosign! You are so on point! However, i think she’d love to see OBAMA win only because she would hate to see McCain win, then to later die,(God forbid) and have Palin become the “first” female president. Hillary wants to be the “FIRST”.

  65. Leann

You are COMPLETELY WRONG with your statement. The world is changing drastically; therefore, you need to accept the fact that women are just as capable of men to run for office. In this instance, it is Sarah who is running for VP not for President that everyone *****umes she is running against Obama. These type of statements are no longer political, they are discriminatory in the corporate world. With this thought, “A women is very capable of filling a man’s shoes,” That’s what Palin’s running for office has ended up to be is that of how the world is changing and the US needs to catch up with the fact that women are just as capable as any man.

  66. quicker than u

wow. thats our VP. what a great example of how all american women should be!!

  67. kigali (Why do Black girls get pregnant by thugs?)

    @Foxxie,

Not seeing Palin become the first female President would be inticing to Clinton. But yo! These folks are dirty. Like the Republicans. We wee supposed to take it to a higher level but I guess America isnt ready for issues.

  68. I Don't follow I Lead

    ***** PALIN!!!. OK that said.

How are you guys planning to win this election now?

    ______________________________________________

    1. By not letting defeatist attitudes rule, and by not believing everything a pundit says, or every poll that’s out there,

    2. By continuing to support Sen. Obama with monetary donations, or by volunterring.

    3. By making sure that my voter’s registration info is up to date.

    4. By registering, and encouraging as many people as I can to vote, this one is too important to sit out and do nothing.

    5. BY VOTING ON NOV. 4TH!!

Yep, pretty simplistic I know, but if the unthinkable happens and Sen. Obama should lose, at least I can tell myself that I did my best, as I am stand in the food line at the homeless shelter after 8 more years of Republican (greediness) rule.

  69. kigali (Why do Black girls get pregnant by thugs?)

    @gottobeghettob4u,

Well because McCain wasnt doing anything for the base. They hated him especially the religious right. They needed someone like them to but on the ticket. And she is a woman too? Seriously. If this race goes back to be about McCain vs Obama, McCain may not win but Palin will. Which is the point.

  70. black woman

    STOP TRIPPING!

    (Check me out!)

leave that white woman alone! white women have turned against obama and now they are supporting mccain. obama underestimated how white women would react. he focked up! bossip admit that obama may lose because he dissed hillary!

lol you sound so dumb white women dont even give a to ***** about black men they will allways stand by they white men when it comes down to it. and she is one ugly ***** white old pale looking ***** damn white women ugly i have not seen not one pretty in my life!

  71. MH

Excuse my language…But these damn WHITE people are gettin’ on my damn nerves…Hillary Clinton already she DID NOT want to be VICE PRESIDENT she wanted to be PRESIDENT…Barack ain’t regretin that ***** he is respecting her wishes to be PRESIDENT.

  72. Miss Theo

For all the people on here saying that Barack has “regretted” not picking Hillary…keep in mind that Barack chose someone that was going to help balance his ticket and someone that he felt most confortible with. He was NOT obligated to pick Hillary. People’s biggest issue with Barack is that they said he didn’t have much foriegn policy experience..so he goes and gets someone in Joe Biden who has 26+ years in international affairs. The democratic ticket is very balanced. I respect Hillary, but she lost..get over it.

As far as this woman Palin is concerned, she is the same woman that has been do*****ented calling Hillary Clinton a “whiner” while Hillary was running for the democratic party and Hillary was talking about “sexism”..now all of a sudden the republican party is trying to use “sexisim” as a shield to protect this woman from questions about her policies. The hypocrisy has been ridiculous.

If white woman go out and vote for McCain just because he has a woman on his ticket (although she is a woman that is NOT qualified to be in the White house) then that is truely pathetic..it also goes against everything Hillary stands for. With all this “white vs black” talk people tend to forget the Barack is half white his damn self and was raised by a WHITE woman. Therefor, he’s a part of ALL of us. Both white and black people need to grow the f*ck up and move on past the race issue, because it is beyond old now. Someone on here said we can’t just count on our 13% to vote for Barack, im not sure if anyone got the memo..but 18+ million people voted for Barack also which means black people weren’t the only ones out voting for the man.

I don’t think people realise how much of an impact this election will have on not only america, but the world. I seen a man on t.v say that if McCain wins the White House running this dishonarable campaign that there will be a huge backlash maybe worse then Bush..America will truely be divided. They just did a poll on CNN asking countries around the world who they want to be Americas next President and Barack won in a landslide. Americans need to wake up and realise that the world is watching this. What will it say to them if after this past eight years, we go and elect someone that is similar to our last President with basically the same policies (no matter how much he tries to sugar coat it)? People think we are in trouble now, watch whats going to happen if McCain gets in and how the world will react. The way that McCain has run his campaign speaks volumes on how he might govern this country. Very scary. We are just coming off an 8 year administration of a bunch of lies, minipulation and secretcy…and McCains campaign has been filled with a bunch of LIES, MANIPULATION and SECRETCY.

I find it funny when I read some people say they won’t vote for Obama because he didn’t chose Hillary or because he is black (although he is also white), because at the end of the day, if Obama loses its he can go back to his job at senate making his money him and his wife BOTH have great educations… so them not voting for him is NOT going to hurt him…its going to hurt THEM. So Americans can keep on playing around if they want to, listening to McCains flat out lies and minipulation…all the while McCain does not have an economic plan that is sutible for the situation we are in right now and continues to talk about war and drilling holes all over the earth. Both he and Palin have BOTH said going to war with Russia is a possibility..we are already in two wars right now, we know that Russia has weapons of m***** destruction, as we speak Korea has gone back to their labs and are working on weapons of m***** destruction (due to Bush not keeping up his end of the deal with them)..that is a fight no one in the world needs right now. If McCain and Palin (a broad that no one in the world even knows) goes trying to continuosly play “bully” without rebuilding our relationships and allies that have been strained these p***** eight years with other countries, that will spell serious problems. We have been at war for 7 years now (longer then any war in modern day history) and people have come accostomed to seeing the war on t.v. Americans need to realise that we are at a cross roads, if McCain and Palin get in the White House and start poppin their gums and countries get fed up and take it the wrong way they could cause WWIII…only this time we won’t be witnessing the war on t.v, it could possibly be brought over on our own soil…in our own backyards. People better wake up.

OBAMA 08′!! Not because he’s black, but because he represents all that is great about America, policies of hope and change for our future…not desperatly trying to keep us in the present and past.

Does anyone remember Rush Limbaughs Operation Chaos? Basically he told his listeners to dam bear commit voter fraud by changing their party affilliation to Democrat so they can vote for Hillary in the primaries so she could win. They wanted Hillary to win because they believed she would be easier to beat. Consider what they have done and said about her and her family for the last 15 years or so, only God knows what they have under their sleeves.

I’m like, so, you’re not voting for his black half, the half that’s 2nd generation Harvard educated? Or are you uncomfortable with the white half of him that’s 3rd generation college educated, and a product of a self-sustaining and progressive middle American family?

ARTICLE” BARACK MESSED UP BY NOT PICKING HILLARY…

    Could Clinton have Palin-proofed Dems?

Glenn Thrush, Martin Kady II Wed Sep 10, 5:32 AM ET

Republican Rep. Candice S. Miller says Barack Obama had only one shot at Palin-proofing the Democratic ticket — and he missed it when he p*****ed over Hillary Rodham Clinton as his running mate.

“Every woman in America knows what Barack Obama did to Hillary Clinton: He looked at her and thought, ‘There’s no way I’m doing that,’” said Miller. “If Hillary was on the ticket, he’d be in a much better position to win women voters.”

Sarah Palin’s presence — coupled with Clinton’s absence — may be altering one of the great verities of American politics: that women voters overwhelmingly favor Democrats.

A Washington Post-ABC News poll released this week showed white women swinging hard against the Democratic ticket. Obama left Denver with an 8-point lead among white women; by the time John McCain pulled out of St. Paul, Minn., with Palin at his side, he had taken a 12-point lead.

Former Clinton strategist and pollster Mark Penn on Tuesday said that it’s too soon to know where women will wind up in November, and he declined to engage in any “woulda, coulda, shoulda” speculation about how things might be different if Clinton were on the Democratic ticket.

But another former Clinton adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that the “Obama people have got to be kicking themselves” for not putting choosing Clinton as his No. 2.

Julia Piscitelli of the American University’s Women and Politics Institute agreed.

“I don’t think Palin would be seeing these kind of gains if Hillary was on the ticket,” she said. “When Obama picked Biden, it gave Republicans an opening, and they are taking full advantage of it. … The question is: How long will it last?”

The answer, some Democrats say, is not long.

“I don’t think this is a real swing [in the polls] until it’s been a week, said Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), one of Obama’s busiest female surrogates. “We’ll need to see whether Sarah Palin is willing to answer questions. … No one will be a stronger advocate for Barack Obama and Joe Biden than Hillary Clinton.”

Sen. Blanche L. Lincoln (D-Ark.) also sounded the Palin-will-wilt-in-the-spotlight theme.

“Sarah Palin delivered a great speech, but we haven’t heard anything else about what she’s going to do,” Lincoln said. “American women are smart, they’re bright and this election isn’t just about Sarah Palin. This is about what they want to do for the country.”

The Obama campaign has denied that it has a serious problem with female voters.

On Monday, campaign manager David Plouffe told a Washington Post reporter, “Your poll is wrong,” adding, “We certainly are not seeing any movement like that. Polls, time to time, particularly on the demographic stuff, can have some pretty wild swings.”

That view won support from two unlikely sources Tuesday: Penn and a Republican senator who backs the McCain-Palin ticket.

BIDEN SAYS HILLARY WAS A BETTER PICK FOR VP THAN HIM…

Joe Biden said Wednesday that Hillary Clinton “might have been a better pick than me” to be Barack Obama’s running mate.

The Delaware senator was responding to an audience member at a town hall meeting in Nashua, N.H., who criticized Clinton and said it’s a good thing Obama chose Biden over her.

“Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Lets get that straight,” Biden said in Clinton’s defense.

“She’s easily qualified to be vice president … and quite frankly, might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate. I mean that sincerely. She is first rate. So let’s get that straight,” he said.

The comment comes after Clinton tried to *****uage tensions last month at the Democratic National Convention between the Obama campaign and her supporters — disenchanted over her primary loss and her absence on the Democratic ticket.

John McCain spokesman Ben Porritt within minutes sent around an e-mail saying the choice of Biden was Obama’s “most important decision of this election.” The e-mail then skewers Biden for suggesting “that he wasn’t the right man for the job and that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice.”

It was the latest shot in a spate of political crossfire between the two presidential campaigns. Biden earlier in the day compared McCain’s attacks on Obama to the attacks McCain faced during the 2000 White House race — when Biden rose to McCain’s defense.

Addressing an audience of about 300 political donors in Boston, the Delaware senator said he would respond forcefully to anyone attacking Obama in the manner of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that questioned Democrat John Kerry’s military record during the 2004 campaign.

“Swiftboating is not going to work this time. And the reason it’s not is, No. 1, I’m going to smack ‘em right square in the chops,” Biden said.

Biden did not get into specifics, but a spokesman said he was referring to a new McCain ad suggesting the Illinois senator supported

does the man even look white? nope does he goes as half? nope he dont give a damn about his white mother he could care less about his white side its clear to me he goes as a black man and thats what he is. white people dont even like obama lol so his black. and the funny thing about a 100% black man is jealous of him cuz he goes as black and he is mix but yet black men makeing mix kids now so that means they jealous of they own mix children and it had to take a mix man to run this a full black man could have never done this.

NEITHER BARACK WHO HAS AN ATTORNEY BACKGROUND OR MCCAIN WHO IS A WAR VET NEITHER ONE OF THEM HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO BRING THE ECONOMY BACK…

I agree. But Obama is SO INEXPERIENCED!! I dont care what anyone says. SARAH is WAY and I mean WAY more experienced than Barack is. All that fake ***** that comes out Obama’s mouth just astounds me..how could someone fall for him. Yes, McCain lies A LOT but Obama just seems so damn fake IMO. If Obama was completely white:

    1. Hillary would’ve won LONG TIME.

    2. If he did win half of y’all wouldn’t dare where a shirt with him on it yet alone right his name on a paper.

Yes we’re making history BUT I don’t give a *****. Obama doesn;t do anything for me. Especially because he “CLAIMS” He’s a Christian YET he said he would want his daughter to have an abortion if she was 17, he supports gay marraige etc…go on youtube and listen to his foolish uneducated about the Bible response. I’m not voting. If I would DEF MCCAIN, MY TAXES DONT NEED TO BE RAISED!!

    Either McCain ‘08 or

    God ‘08 but NO OBERMA!!

  86. HF

    I agree, Ms Theo.

People 4get that Hillary flat out, ran a BAD campaign. Her and her strategists were so sure they had the nomination in the bag, that they didn’t even budget past Super Sunday. Iowa gave them a dose of reality with a QUICKNESS.

Oh, and who can 4get Bill Clinton’s belittling comparisons 2 Jesse Jackson, as well as Hillary’s comment about Obama not appealing 2 “hard-working (white) Americans?”

Hillary ran a sloppy and disorganized campaign. Not only that, her and Bill made a bunch of stupid remarks -flat and simple… then Barack was OBLIGATED 2 pick her????????

Hillary can blame HERSELF 4 her loss.

If that won’t work, then she can blame Bill and her campaign advisers.

Did anyone pressure McCain about his VP selection?

    No!

    Now, further on the matter:

Barack has overcome long-shot odds b4. If Hillary Clinton couldn’t defeat him, Sarah Palin damn sure won’t. BTW, remind me… who exactly is Barack running against?

    Relax folks, he’s got this.

    @ “WhatsYoursIsMine-Fabulousness for less than $10 a day”!

I don’t understand it either… the ignorance in this country is beyond me at this point…along with the bigotry that goes on on this site with people.

    —————————————————-

    @” Chrissy”-

You sound like an angry Hillary Stan…Warren Buffet supports Barack Obama 100% on his economic policies and will be voting for him, they just said it on the news today. You can go on and on but the fact if the matter is you have two choices…its either Obama or McCain, deal with it.

    —————————————————–

    @ “black woman”

You sound beyond ignorant. Regardless of how Barack looks…the fact of the matter is he is still half white. Its funny how black people want some of these people to be black when it is convienant for them. The same way some black people want to try to call Halle Berry out for being mixed when indeed she looks like a strait black woman and doesn’t have the luxury of pulling out the “mixed card” when she gets casted for these films…they cast her as a BLACK WOMAN, the same way that some people want to call someone like her a “sell out” for supposidly dating outside of her race…when she is half white her damn self…its ignorant, period. So I felt the need to remind everyone in here that Barack is half white and if some white people are going to vote against him simply based on his skin tone (when he is also one of them)..its going to be their downfall at the end of the day, not his.

You said that Barack don’t care about his mom? All he talks about is his mom…what the heck are you talking about? He mentions his mom in just about all his speeches. You say white people don’t like Barack (for some of the bigots in this country that may be true)? Thats funny, considering that the man got 18+ million votes to become the democratic pick…im sure all those people weren’t black. He was able to go over seas to Berlin and draw a crowd of 200,000 people and get them to wave the American flag. Everytime I see him draw crowds of 20,000-80,000 people in America, all I see is a sea of races, ages and genders…no one looks alike. So again, what are you talking about?

This is the type of thing that *****es me off about some black people…because you are never satisfied and will hate on someone no matter what. For white people, Barack isn’t white enough…and because he speaks commen sense and is intellegent he is labeled an “elitist”. For black people Barack is not “black enough” for those very same reasons. Its ridiculous. The thing I respect about Barack is throughout all the hypocrisy, bigotry and nonsense he has had to endure throughout this election process, he has handeled himself with nothing but grace and dignity. The man has not only been drug through the mud, hated on relentlessly, the republicans have also went after his wife and family (yet they want for people to leave Palins family alone, the hypocrisy kills me)…people have been arrested by the FBI because of supposed **********ination talk on Obama. So regardless if someone beleives in his policies or not, you have to recognise the fact that he is literaly putting his LIFE on the line for something he believes in and for the people that believe in him…if that is not a “leader” then I don’t know what is. Like alot of Americans, he got tired of what has been going on in this country for the past 8 years, but instead of just sitting around talking about it he decided to get off his @ss and do something about it. Instead of sitting around your computer all day on this site talking a bunch of sh*t, why don’t YOU follow his lead and do the same.

What I/we can do each day to enrich the campaign (written by wife, english teacher and tennis player):

    1) Ask those in your circle of contacts if they are registered. Help register folks who aren’t–applications must be postmarked by OCTOBER 15, 2008 (15 days prior to any presidential election).

    2) Write letters to all officials and challenge media sources/blogs who use racist tactics (e.g. Fox News, New Yorker magazine) to undermine Obama’s momentum.

    3) Entertain discussions with the children you love (have them visit http://www.kidstalkpolitics.com for inspiration).

    4) Build a “Mr. & Mrs. Obama “historical collection (clip articles, buy magazines, save those Obama buttons and t-shirts in a special place–your grandchildren& great grandchildren will be educated and fascinated by these items decades from now!

    5) Throw a Sept. 25 debate party, then evaluate the political discourse—vodka martini in hand of course!

    6) Have students in your cl***** do formal critiques of the Sept 25 Obama/McCain debate for extra credit (for teachers)

    7) People who never thought an iota about you at work/school/in public are now aware of African Americans in a whole new way. Walk with dignity the way Obama does, esp. in the face of indignity because WE are such an INVALUABLE component to this history-in-the-making!

    8) Plan a pre-election party Nov 1 to send positive energy to the gods!

    9) Visit Obama’s website and see what can be done to help–itty bitty or something grand–You even get a cool gift for donating $15 to the campaign! http://www.barackobama.com

    10) Dare I say plan a Victory party for Nov. 5???

Yes we can, beautiful people…YES WE CAN!

  90. Miss Theo

    @ ChiTownChica-

Please explain to us all how Palin is “way more experienced” then Barack? Is it because she has been govener for as long as Barack has ran his campaign? Or the fact that she has governed and been a mayor of a state that has the lowest population in the U.S? Or is it because she has only been out the U.S once, has NEVER met with any world leaders and just got her past port in 2007? Or the fact that she is being investigated as we speak for abusing power (sounds like a previous president we all know)? Oh I get it…its because shes a Hocky mom? A Pit Bull with lipstick? Or its because she has five kids? Seriously, GTFOH. I think Palin is accomplished (short termed), but is NOT suited or ready to be in the White House (her interview and uncertaincy on foriegn policy she showed the other night proves this), especially with McCain being 72 years old…if he was thinking about his country first he would have been a little more responsible with his pick. A lot of Palins political believes will set us back rather then move us forward. And since you want to talk about Barack being black is what got him this far…if Hillary was picked as VP, we would not know who Sarah Palin is because her @ss wouldn’t have been picked. There you go. She was NOT the most qualified canidate, not even the most qualified woman among republicans.

Regardless of what anyone says about Baracks “experience”…he has earned his right to be where he is right now and was not just chosen to get a token vote (like Palin was to get the womens vote)…Barack is the vote. And because Barack supports gay marriage, he is not suited for the White House? Are gay people not a part of America as we know it? Give me a break. Some of you people are getting played by McCain and it is scary that some Americans can be so blind and ignorant.

As a HIllary supporter, I’m choosing not to vote in this race. I wasn’t fooled, not even for a second, at Palin being picked as his running mate. I was actually more offended by the notion that as a woman I’m just supposed to vote vagina… I can’t bring myself to vote for McCain, it goes against everything I believe…

But Palin may have a point here, if Hillary were on Obama’s ticket, he’d have my vote. As it stands, no one has my vote – and I know that view is shared with A LOT of voters, enough that Obama may just lose this one.

  93. HF

Good points RJ, but believe it or not… even if u sit this election out, u will still have made a VOTE.

Those who DIDN’T make their voices heard in the last election r just as responsible 4 George W Bush’s bull***** as those who voted 4 him.

Heck, write ‘Hillary’ on your ballot, but apathy is the WORST thing.

    Just a thought.

    Later, Bossipers!

  94. Miss Theo

    LOL @ HF

I swear when I see some of these people (white) talk about Obama on t.v they seem like they want to call him a “n*gger” so bad…but they can’t. Things get very interresting when some older white men see a black man with so much power. They hate it. They have lied and minipulated throughout this campaign so much and have even went as far as trying to steal Baracks message of “change” and make it unto their own..they have even pulled out this desperation hat trick in Palin to try to stay competetive in this race. Its pathetic.

I’ll tell you one thng, for all this talk about Barack supposidly not being experienced enough the republicans sure have “borroed” a lot of Ideas off of him…something to think about.

  95. memchee

this woman continues to talk out the side of her neck.

As much as I supported Hillary, she would not have been a team player as vice president on obama’s ticket.

I really believe that the clinton’s history as career politician was a big hint that the clinton’s would have undermined everything on obama’s agenda.

Obama could have chosen better than Biden, and probably would have if did not chose under the pressure of being inexperienced.

  96. I Don't follow I Lead

But Palin may have a point here, if Hillary were on Obama’s ticket, he’d have my vote. As it stands, no one has my vote – and I know that view is shared with A LOT of voters, enough that Obama may just lose this one.

    ____________________________________________

Don’t vote that’s your right, but I don’t agree that a lot of voters share your sentiment. We as a country are in caos, Bear Sterns failed, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac failed, Lehman Bros. failed, WAMU will be next. The failings of the banking and financial industry fall right at the feet of the Republicans and Phil (“Americans are whinners”)Gramm and his failed banking policies; is your retirement fund safe, is your home safe, do you have a job? can you afford more of the same if McCain wins. I don’t get “cutting of your nose to spite your face”, just because one is PO’d about Sen. Clinton not winning, Sen. Clinton ran a campaign that almost guaranteed that she would not be Sen. Obama’s running mate. I hope more people look at the big picture and realize that all votes and voices must be heard.

  97. chaka1

The GOP IS viscous and the previous poster is right about how they started a rumor that McCain had a black baby. If the 2000 election has taught us anything, it’s “WE” have got to stick together and not be swayed by obvious false rumors and trickery.

I think one reason McCain picked Palin is because none of the true power players wanted to run with him because Bush has practically destroyed the country. Now the Wall Street Journal is saying our money is not safe in the bank? Huge multinational financial institutions are going bankrupt? The country is sinking!!!

The Republicans have more in store for us, so we have got to be ready and unwavering in our support for Obama. It’s got to be a united front. Let’s stand behind the Clintons in their efforts to support Obama. I feel the GOP is going to pull some outrageous drama in late October and early November. We have got to be ready.

Kenya, it’s a ploy to get our attention off the issues and on Palin, and unfortunately it’s working for 1) Americans that are asleep at the wheel; and 2) The ones that won’t vote b/c they didn’t get their way; the ones that keep whining about Hillary not being on the ticket (people really need to get over it – it’s a done deal), and the other nitwits that just don’t have a clue. SMH.

  104. mimi

obomba = Uncle Tom he is letting his black kin live in poverty!! White grandparents raised him.

  105. 16 REASONS PALIN SUCKS!!!!!

1.A poor record: Her only political experience has been a few years as mayor of a small town in Alaska and less than two years as governor of that state. Her record wasn’t so great: the small town she left behind is now in financial ruin.

    2. She has no experience with national level politics. At the time of this posting, many of her views on national policy issues were unknown simply because she is so inexperienced that she hasn’t even made public statements about them. Presidential history scholars believe she may be “the most inexperienced person on a major party ticket in modern history.”

    3. She has no foreign policy experience. None.

    4. Iraq War? Our country is in the midst of a war, and Palin’s son is going to fight in that war. However, Salon.com reports that she hasn’t even given much thought to the Iraq War, and has no clear opinions about it. Great.

    5. She is a creationist, and she wants “creation science” to be taught in public schools.

    6. She doesn’t believe in man-made global warming. Maybe that’s why she supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge?

    7. Not only does she think the government should be telling people who they can and cannot marry, she also thinks that same sex couples should be denied benefits given to straight couples.

    8. Palin has been accused of abusing her power as Alaska governor to try to get her ex-brother-in-law fired as a state trooper. An investigation is underway.

    9. She has messed up views on wildlife protection. Environmentalists are appalled by her support of a $150-per-wolf bounty program. She’s also supported the use of government money to educate people about how great it is to shoot bears and wolves, and she doesn’t want the polar bear to make it onto the endangered species list.

    10. One nation, under stupidity: When defending the phrase “one nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, Palin said, “If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.” Reality check: The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892, long after the founding fathers died. The phrase “one nation under God” was added in 1954….

    11. Anti-birth control nutcase- Not only does Palin oppose abortion in all cases, she also opposes the use of birth control in all cases. That includes married couples that want to use condoms or the pill!

    12. Politicizing non-political jobs: When she was mayor of small town in Alaska, Palin abused her authority by firing city employees that did not fully support her reelection campaign.

    13. She can’t even manage her own family – rumors have given way to an admission from Palin that her teenage daughter is pregnant, and will be having a shotgun marriage to the guy that knocked her up. That’s what abstinence-only education gets you.

    14. Ninja editing: Her Wikipedia entry needed to be cleaned up before the public announcement that she was McCain’s VP pick.

    15. She has no clue about the role of the Vice President.

    16. It is quite clear she was chosen just because of her gender (most Republicans have never even heard of her), and she’s being used as a trick by the McCain campaign to gain some of Hillary Clinton’s supporters.

  106. mimi

OBOMBA= Uncle Tom!! He does not care about Black folk!!! Wise up!!!!!

The only way Senator Obama and Senator Biden will lose this race is if you and I and the rest of the people in the United States don’t get off of our *****es and either register, and then get out there and vote.

We got the power in our hands and need to stop looking at man made polls that are tilted in Mc Cain’s favor and stop listening to the KKK News Media who don’t even wear their white hooded robes anymore and along with Mc Cain and Palin don’t have enough brains if put together to fill a thimble tell us how to think!

  111. Ara

    Sarah Palin is a gimmick.

  112. Lookout

LOL, look at that photo. It is CL*****IC! Three products that fed the pockets of our government for DECADES. Look closely….cigarettes, guns and beer. McCain is going to pull a fastone. He cannot stay with her for the long hall. No Way!

  113. black woman

    @ miss theo

A senior advisor to Barack Obama says the Democratic nominee would engage Iran on its nuclear work early next year if elected president.

“He (Obama) is saying that as soon as he takes office that we have to have a very serious set of negotiations with the Iranians in which we in effect present them with a choice,” said former US national security adviser Tony Lake, who now serves the Obama campaign, on Thursday.

Iran, a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), says it is constructing nuclear power plants as its growing population suffers from electricity shortage. The US, however, accuses the country of having plans to develop nuclear weapons.

This is while the UN nuclear watchdog has confirmed that Tehran enriches uranium-235 to a level of 3.7 percent – a rate consistent with the construction of a power plant. Nuclear arms production requires an enrichment level of above 90 percent.

The Bush administration, claiming to be committed to diplomacy to resolve the standoff, has sought to persuade Iran to abandon its uranium enrichment activities through a carrot-and-stick approach of incentives and sanctions, as well as threats of launching strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Under US pressure, the UN Security Council has so far imposed three rounds of sanctions against Iran, demanding the country to halt its enrichment program.

Tehran says while it is fully committed to dialogue to protect its right to the peaceful application of nuclear technology, it will not accept Western demands.

Lake said Tehran should be given a sharper choice between the ‘consequences’ of continuing its nuclear program and the benefits of abandoning it.

“This is an extremely important issue, an extremely serious issue and an extremely urgent issue,” Lake continued.

Despite Obama’s promise of bringing ‘change’ to the White House, Lake’s remarks suggest the Democratic candidate has adopted an approach of sanctions which echoes eight years of policies pursued by the in*****bent US President, George W. Bush.

    U.K. to Begin Microchipping Prisoners

    NaturalNews | June 23, 2008

The British government is developing a plan to track current and former prisoners by means of microchips implanted under the skin, drawing intense criticism from probation officers and civil rights groups.

As a way to reduce prison crowding, many British prisoners are currently released under electronic monitoring, carried out by means of an ankle bracelet that transmits signals like those used by mobile phones.

Now the Ministry of Justice is exploring the possibility of injecting prisoners in the back of the arm with a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip that contains information about their name, address and criminal record. Such chips, which contain a built-in antenna, could be scanned by special readers. The implantation of RFID chips in luggage, pets and livestock has become increasingly popular in recent years.

    (Article continues below)

In addition to monitoring incarcerated prisoners, the ministry hopes to use the chips on those who are on probation or other conditional release. By including a satellite uplink system in the chip, police would be able to use global positioning system (GPS) technology to track subjects’ exact locations at all times. According to advocates of such a measure, this could help keep sex offenders away from “forbidden” zones like schools.

Harry Fletcher, *****istant general secretary of the National *****ociation of Probation Officers, blasted the measure as degrading to the people chipped and of no benefit to probation officers.

“Knowing where offenders like pedophiles are does not mean you know what they are doing,” Fletcher said. “Treating people like pieces of meat does not seem to represent an improvement in the system to me.”

Shami Chakrabarti of the civil rights group Liberty had even stronger words:

“If the Home Office doesn’t understand why implanting a chip in someone is worse than an ankle bracelet, they don’t need a human-rights lawyer; they need a common-sense byp*****.”

    @eddiedollars215

So what do you suppose we do, not vote?..I don’t believe that Obama is going to be some kind of quick fix to solve America’s problems, most people aren’t that blind..Why can’t we just be happy to make history and see a brotha in the white house, this election isn’t all about politics or believing a black man is going to take us to the promise land *****, it’s about pride, pain and the common struggle of black people.

When I look back at the civil rights movement and think about what happen on Edmund Pettus bridge and what black endured to have the right to vote, and think about all of those who lost their lives in the struggle and how pround they would be right now and then I listen to you so called INTELLECTALS and INTELLECTUAL ***** NEGROS posting ***** like what you posted and calling everyone else dumb it makes me *****ing sick!! Regardless of what kind of president you think Obama will or will not be in regard to politics you can’t deny the fact that he brings hope and inspiration to a generation of young people..Why can we just celebrate that!..Politics is what it is and you can’t blame any candidate for playing by the game rules..No matter what he does he can’t please everybody..Do you think some of the old heads who lived through the racist 60’s when their were white only bathrooms and water fountains, got sprayed with hoses and bit by dogs give a ***** about all this ***** you posting? Yesterday September 15, marked the anniversy of the 4 little girls who died in a church bombing n Birmingham, Al, people who lived through that ***** are voting for Obama for reasons you can’t begin to understand.

You say Obama isn’t going to do *****, well guest what, the white one’s won’t either so I guess we’re screwed either way.

  124. We "Blacks" Are The Real Hebrew Israelites

This is Your Nation on White Privilege

    By Tim Wise

For those who still can’t grasp the concept of white privilege, or who are constantly looking for some easy-to-understand examples of it, perhaps this list will help.

White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because “every family has challenges,” even as black and Latino families with similar “challenges” are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.

White privilege is when you can call yourself a “*****in’ redneck,” like Bristol Palin’s boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you’ll “kick their *****in’ *****,” and talk about how you like to “shoot *****” for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.

White privilege is when you can attend four different colleges in six years like Sarah Palin did (one of which you basically failed out of, then returned to after making up some coursework at a community college), and no one questions your intelligence or commitment to achievement, whereas a person of color who did this would be viewed as unfit for college, and probably someone who only got in in the first place because of affirmative action.

White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don’t all ***** on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you’re “untested.”

White privilege is being able to say that you support the words “under God” in the pledge of allegiance because “if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it’s good enough for me,” and not be immediately disqualified from holding office–since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the “under God” part wasn’t added until the 1950s–while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous and silly idea only supported by mushy liberals.

White privilege is being able to be a gun enthusiast and not make people immediately scared of you.

White privilege is being able to have a husband who was a member of an extremist political party that wants your state to secede from the Union, and whose motto was “Alaska first,” and no one questions your patriotism or that of your family, while if you’re black and your spouse merely fails to come to a 9/11 memorial so she can be home with her kids on the first day of school, people immediately think she’s being disrespectful.

White privilege is being able to make fun of community organizers and the work they do–like, among other things, fight for the right of women to vote, or for civil rights, or the 8-hour workday, or an end to child labor–and people think you’re being pithy and tough, but if you merely question the experience of a small town mayor and 18-month governor with no foreign policy expertise beyond a cl***** she took in college–you’re somehow being mean, or even sexist.

White privilege is being able to convince white women who don’t even agree with you on any substantive issue to vote for you and your running mate anyway, because all of a sudden your presence on the ticket has inspired confidence in these same white women, and made them give your party a “second look.”

White privilege is being able to fire people who didn’t support your political campaigns and not be accused of abusing your power or being a typical politician who engages in favoritism, while being black and merely knowing some folks from the old-line political machines in Chicago means you must be corrupt.

White privilege is being able to attend churches over the years whose pastors say that people who voted for John Kerry or merely criticize George W. Bush are going to hell, and that the U.S. is an explicitly Christian nation and the job of Christians is to bring Christian theological principles into government, and who bring in speakers who say the conflict in the Middle East is God’s punishment on Jews for rejecting Jesus, and everyone can still think you’re just a good church-going Christian, but if you’re black and friends with a black pastor who has noted (as have Colin Powell and the U.S. Department of Defense) that terrorist attacks are often the result of U.S. foreign policy and who talks about the history of racism and its effect on black people, you’re an extremist who probably hates America.

White privilege is not knowing what the Bush Doctrine is when asked by a reporter, and then people get angry at the reporter for asking you such a “trick question,” while being black and merely refusing to give one-word answers to the queries of Bill O’Reilly means you’re dodging the question, or trying to seem overly intellectual and nuanced.

White privilege is being able to claim your experience as a POW has anything at all to do with your fitness for president, while being black and experiencing racism is, as Sarah Palin has referred to it a “light” burden.

And finally, white privilege is the only thing that could possibly allow someone to become president when he has voted with George W. Bush 90 percent of the time, even as unemployment is skyrocketing, people are losing their homes, inflation is rising, and the U.S. is increasingly isolated from world opinion, just because white voters aren’t sure about that whole “change” thing. Ya know, it’s just too vague and ill-defined, unlike, say, four more years of the same, which is very concrete and certain…

White privilege is, in short, the problem.
