We’ve gone from talking about “lipstick on a pig” to real issues facing Americans, and you can tell he has hit his stride. And I still don’t understand why he mentioned Spain in the same context as Latin America during his interview. I think he may have had a senior moment.
And let’s not forget that, according to McCain, despite the rising number of home foreclosures, unemployment rate, and national debt, the “fundamentals” of the economy are still “strong.” What planet is he on?

I am all for a woman working – hell I’m at work right now…but what bothers me about her is she is going to CHOOSE to be away from her newborn with DS and the rest of her kids. Say what you want, but GOD gave women the milk meaning WE are to raise the kids and especially THE NEWBORNS. Of course, we can go to work and come home to take care of the kids, but she CHOOSES to be away from her kids for weeks and months at a time..what woman CHOOSES to miss her baby’s first steps, first words,etc. Even in the military a woman with special needs baby isn’t sent on deployment!! NOT TO MENTION, obviously the “first dude” isn’t doing a Great Job becuase her soon was a drug addict who they forced into the military to get his life together and their daughter is a freak!!

I think the glow is getting dimmer for Palin, according to recent polls. Obama is up in support among white women voters, including former Clinton supporters. To me, if you’re a true supporter of Hillary, there’s no rationality to support Palin whose views are the polar opposite of Clinton’s. Did you see the SNL sketch with Tina Fey? It was hilarious. Also, Chuck Hagel, a Republican, made a very honest *****essment yesterday of Palin’s foreign policy credentials:

you get what u pay for when it comes to leggings..if you want something that is going to last then you should go for american apparel because their’s last a while..i got leggings from them 3 winters ago to wear with skirts and sweater dresses and they are very durable and I still have them and they are intact..with leggings from macy’s and other discount retail stores after 3 washes they start to unravel..but if you’re not looking to keep them that long macy’s is your best bet as far as affordable and easy on your wallet goes.

I only wished more people would understand that the polls are not always accurate. They’re like a “guesstimate” on an estimate. I’ve received a few polling calls and it’s always a group I’ve signed up for, never anything from Fox News or MSNBC or anyone else who waves their opinions on TV.
Now, when I see the results of a MoveOn.org or ColorofChange.org poll, I always stick my chest out in pride because I responded to those. I still know that the polls I parti*****ted in don’t represent everyone.
I wish there were a way to do an accurate polling of registered voters.

That being said, the polls have been against Obama in the past and he has still prevailed. I think this race will come down to which candidate has the best ground organizing game, and I think that’s one of Obama’s chief strengths.

I am registered to vote, and I have voted since I was 18, but I refuse to vote this year because the election has already been decided, just like all the others for the past twelve or so years. Dems and Repubs talk about the same ***** Jobs, Healthcare, College, and the war. The real issues that I feel should be exploited are not being talked about.
1. -Unemployment..how cam we even keep people employed in America when the Top Fortune 500 companies have outsources their jobs overseas, and everything is MADE IN CHINA…Oh and by the way China owns the US..
-Education- Minority schools have been broken since Brown vs the Board of Education, and the college is a business, you have more kids going the college and not knowing the what they really want to do becoming more in debt. College is a business. No wonder the US educational system is damn near dead last among industrialized nations
Healthcare ? Heathcare wouldn’t be so high if doctors could afford their malpractice isurance premiums.. There are very little lobbyist working in their favor..And the big Pharma companies are killing us.
Until one of the candidates have a proposed solution for the following, these these people are frauds to me and dont really card about domestic issues:
-Overthrow the Federal Reserve, and bring back the gold standard.
-Dismantle the FDA because this is who keeps us sick with stuff

I like they way you think. you are right about brown black children were recieving a better education when they were segregated. It seems as though people worked hard and had more of a since of who we are. Still till this day these schools are on the lower end of the pole. The “worth” of gold flucuates as well so this wouldn’t avoid inflation per se. The “value” of gold is limited at best. It is only used as jewelry and in some case as a conducter due to it’s high reisistance to heat. I doubt poor countries would have much use for gold and thusly our currency.

African-American women are 23 times as likely to be infected with the Aids virus as white women and account for 71.8% of new HIV cases among women in 29 US states, government research shows.
The Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-profit health organisation, has found that in 2001 roughly 67% of black women with Aids had contracted the virus through heterosexual sex – up from 58% four years earlier.
“Yes, the risk of contracting HIV is highest in the African-American community and there’s no question black women are at higher risk compared to other women,” Robert Janssen, the director of HIV/Aids prevention at the Centres for Disease Control (CDC), told the New York Times.”

We have to have faith into the sworn voting location officials and have faith in our constitution and know that our rights as voters, and as Amereicans, are being granted to us when we cast our ballots.
In the 2000 election, I had to vote absentee because I went to school out of state. I found out later that my vote wasn’t counted because of some fraudulent technicality that has since been overturned in Texas. I was so angry, I began to research voter’s rights. I don’t understand everything, but what I’ve learned is that you have to have faith in our rights.

The reason “gold, silver, copper” were used as currency no longer apply today:
-different colors (to denot different values)
-durable (could go through cold and hot temps)
-portable (could be broken down)
Now, compared to paper money gold and silver is beaten in every aspect.
The “printing” of more money is never done to try to control the economy in any way. The Fed provides more funds to banks via a loan. The time value of money is the cornerstone to the economy.
Every human interaction is based on “faith” in some aspect so the “gold standard” itself would still rely on “faith.”

In my opinion, a radical change must happen. A Revolution. People got to die for tha cause. Me? I cant lie, sometimes I feel like talking a podium outside my house and preach what I feel. Kinda how Malcolm used to do it.. To be honest I am keep nervous speaking to large group of people, but I am working on that. I am going to work with Toastmasters to practice my speeches and writing so I can learn to articulate better. I blog to get my point across most of the time. Women, minorities, younger and unmarried people were likelier to prefer catching a game with Obama while men, whites, older and married people would rather watch with McCain.
“I think he’d be fun to sit back with and hear his experiences, all his stories,” said Kyle Ferguson, 28, a Republican from Santa Rosa, Calif., who picked McCain. But reflecting a sense some voters have of McCain based on the complaints of a few Senate colleagues, he added warily, “I bet he’d probably get pretty angry and lit up if his team was losing.”
Democrat James Smith, 29, of Asheville, N.C., picked Obama because he believes he and the Democratic senator from Illinois have more in common.
“With McCain, I have such an age difference,” said Smith of the Arizona senator, who is 72. But with Obama, 47, he said, “If things went well with the conversation, the football game would be forgotten. There’d be a lot of back and forth.”
Such views are significant because in many elections, candidates considered more likable often have an advantage.
McCain backers were a bit more intrigued by watching with Obama than the Democrat’s supporters were with making McCain their football buddy. While fewer than one in 10 Obama backers wanted to watch with McCain, nearly one in five McCain supporters wanted to do it with Obama.
“He seems intensely focused in a way I’m not sure he does sit down and relax,” McCain supporter Lanita Linch, 41, of Harrison, Ark., said of the Republican. She said she’d rather watch with Obama because he seemed like “someone you could be comfortable and at ease with,” but cautioned, “If he’s not a Cowboys fan, we’d have a problem.”

My point was not that there are those that do not look like a more Eurocentric version of Cubans or Puerto Ricans, but that at the end of the day, they cannot possible be considered Europeans; their recent ancestors are descendants of the Diaspora peoples, in turn, making them Black/African as well. Now whether they are claiming their minority status is a whole different issue!
Also, most of the list you provided us with are people that have at leat one parent that can be considered European/Caucasian in their recent ancestral heritage, which provides them with even more of a typical white American look (eg. Cameron Diaz’ mother is half-German).
Lastly, yes, most of us are mixed; however, in many of your previous posts in this thread, you were demonizing and denigrating your own heritage, which prompted me to point out the fact that the very heritage you were spending so much time downplaying is defintely and indeed your own.
There was no disrespect intended, despite the fact that you were giving out plenty of disrepect to lots of other posters; I was just trying to put you up on the facts, mi hermana, whether you are claiming us as hermana’s or not!
I also noticed that more black women are quick to put me down than black men. How can you all explain that?

I never denied my latino heritage. I think it would be silly of me since my parents and I are Cuban. I am not African-American so cannot really identify with everything that they went through in the United States (e.g. Jim Crow).
