A suspect was arrested last night in the shooting death of a 19-year-old honors student killed while saving her friend at a house party near Seton Hall University, police said. Nicholas Welch was busted at his home in East Orange, NJ, on the same block where he allegedly unloaded a fusillade of bullets early Saturday after being denied entry to the off-campus fraternity bash.
Welch, 25, has multiple prior arrests for drug possession, sources said.

He “didn’t say much of anything,” when he was arrested, said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino. Welch was being held in lieu of $2 million bail. Cops said he got the gun from 19-year-old Marcus Bascus. Both men were charged with murder, conspiracy and weapons possession, but cops were still hunting for Bascus.

Jessica Moore, a psychology major from Virginia, was killed in the hail of bullets as she jumped in front of her friend Nakeisha Vanterpool, of The Bronx. Four other victims — two 19-year-old co-eds and two men, ages 20 and 25 — weren’t as seriously wounded. Cops said Welch began randomly spraying bullets after returning to the party, minutes after he was told it was too crowded for more guests to enter.

WTF? We’re honestly sick and tired of reporting on this weak-minded individuals committing these senseless crimes and taking the lives of innocent people. Jessica had such a bright future ahead of her, and this fool ended all that because he couldn’t get into a party because it was too crowded?!?! SMH.
