She was always cute, and when I saw her on shows like the view and various other talk shows she was looking well put together. People are claiming she never was noticed back then, but now she is. Of course that is going to be the case. When someone first comes out people genuinely don’t know much about them. When they blow up people start to take notice. Is that so hard to believe? Rihanna is an artist, Rihanna never claimed to have the best voice in the business but I have to admit that all the songs rihanna releases, and the ones on her albums are very nice catchy songs i can play while driving eg. Sos, Ride, pon de Replay, unfaithful, please don’t stop the music, disturbia take a bow, and not to mention umbrella. All these songs are songs that can be played on the radio years from now and still sound good. The music she puts out makes sense the lyrics are sound. That is why Rhianna will still connect with some people because she puts out hits.

Since this post is still going let me point on one thing, I was watching some Pon de Replay performances last night on ytube and let me say I AM SO HAPPY that RIHANNA switched up her performance style…as the windy waist, booty pop is sooo stereotypical for ‘black girls’ and I am so glad for HER that this will never be her trademark, ok you all like it but it is so degrading TO ME in a sense if that is what a black women is expected to do every time she gets on a stage.

I also heard that she doesn’t WANT to perform like, ofcourse she could be somewhere practicing the pop incessantly but she doesn’t WANT that right now, she wants to be recognized for many things not making people salivate by how she can shake it, that is why she changes up her stage outfits, sometimes long, sometimes revealing but she hasnt ‘hoed’ herself out, she was on her way…check pon de replay performances, sos, and she has pumped the brakes andis forcing her fans to take her in many forms…and its working

It is quite scandalous that the one with more talent is known for her signature booty pop and the one with less talent is known for her artisty, risk taking and willingess to try many genres…seems like the latter is more something, if not talent, then definitely daring, challenging etc…

Go Rihanna, her performances in the UK have been great as like i said I don’t want it to be the case that if you are black you have to get on stage and shake it and drop it like its hot, I am glad that she is performing the way she is and breaking the stupid mold set by Ms. Knowles and her pimp daddy, whitney never did that nor any of the black women that paved the way for bootyliscous I am so glad that the that will be HER signature and not the WAY THAT everyone has to go, as it was seeming, thank goodness that music has not inherited her legacy and not the standard, as like I said, I personally find it degrading.

that thanks to Rihanna (and others) it is not the standard that black artists have to wear blonde weave and shake their tails…I am so glad that that will be Beyonce’s signature and not the standard for black women. Everybody was going that way for a while, Christina milian, even Brandy was trying that as it seemed like they felt that was the only way to succeed but thanks to Rihanna, that myth has been shattered…and now Leona, and Jhud…to her stans, no that is not the goal of every performer and that shouldnt be the measure either, that is one person’s claim to fame as it should be. It would be an insult to our wonderful musical legacy for the beyonce way to become the only way, when for years and years and years black women were not forced to be naked, swing weave and booty pop to be heard and liked.

Amy winehouse has outsold them all and she isnt booty parading on stage, so why should we set this standard for black women. I am glad like I said that they is “BEYONCE’S LEGACY” and hers alone, and not the standard and measure of every artist as her stans would like to have it, if no booty popping then they say so and so can’t perform…yes they CAN, they ARE PERFORMING EVERYBODY DOESN’T HAVE TO BOOTY POP AND EVERYONE DOESN’T WANT TO SEE THAT!!!!
