After finding out their fearless leader had been suspended indefinitely on Friday over some bullsh*t, Keith Olbermann’s fans and followers were in an uproar! So they b*tched, moaned and cried injustice ’til he got his job back.

Olbermann fans got good news late on Sunday night: Griffin announced the embattled MSNBC host will return to the airwaves on Tuesday night.

“I have determind that suspending Keith through and including Monday night’s program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy,” Griffin wrote in a statement.

On Sunday, Politico reported that Olbermann could have avoided the suspension if he had agreed to apologize on air for donating to three Democratic candidates.

Olbermann reportedly refused and argued to his bosses that he didn’t know making campaign contributions was against company policy.

After Friday’s news, Olbermann fell silent – but his supporters were vocal. As of Sunday night, more than 275,000 people had signed an online petition on the website saveolbermann.com to reinstate the talk show host.

One fan even created a Twitter account with the name ‘Team Keith Olbermann’ and numerous users tweeted MSNBC president Phil Griffin’s phone number, encouraging followers to call and complain about Olbermann’s suspension.

“MSNBC President Phil Griffin’s office number has been changed due to constant phone calls regarding @keitholbermann,” Twitter user @TeamKeithOlbermann tweeted proudly on Sunday.

Happy Countdown-ing!
