For some artists, it can take years to build a solid fan base. Others never get a stronghold on any population’s listeners. And then there are those who seem to have subliminal mind control over their flock of followers through their music.
They are characterized by having fans who cry upon seeing them, faint upon seeing them; camp out over night waiting to buy tickets for their shows, get tattoos honoring them, fight people for talking bad about them, have e-churches dedicated to them (see Lady Gaga), dress like the artist more than the artist dresses like the artist.
