isabelle caro dies of anorexia

This is sad:

French model and actress Isabelle Caro, whose anorexia-ravaged body was featured in a shocking 2007 advertising campaign, has died.

The young woman’s acting coach, Daniele Dubreuil-Prevot, revealed Caro died on Nov. 17, at the age of 28, according to reports. She had just returned to France after doing a job in Tokyo.

While Dubreuil-Prevot, Caro’s longtime teacher, said she didn’t know the cause of death, she spoke of Caro’s battle with anorexia, adding that her student – who said she suffered from the illness since she was 13 – “had been sick for a long time.”

The model is known for her appearance in a fashion ad campaign by Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani in 2007. Caro’s naked body was shown with her skeletal frame and facial bones protruding. The images were splashed in newspapers and on billboards with the headline “No Anorexia.”

Earlier this year, she made an appearance on Jessica Simpson’s show The Price of Beauty to discuss body image issues.

This just don’t make no sense that people are still starving themselves to death to be thin! The modeling agency should be shutdown to encourage such ignorance. Just saying.

Get SAVED for New Year!! But don’t go to Mt. Caramel Baptist or else you’ll just end up playing church. Their footstomping and gossipying sideshows take center stage. Read it and laugh, cry and shout! saved-miamac.blogspot.com/

    • Greeneyez

This is a disease ppl… A sandwich cant fixed this problem…. Its alittle deeper… smh..

    • Phacorah

@GreenEyez. To me it’s not a disease. Maybe self esteem issues but not a disease. The word disease to me is something that requires medical intervention to correct. Diabetes, HIV.. whatever. This didn’t require any medication only nutrition. If in her mind she felt unhappy with the way she looked and chose to not live a healthier lifestyle. I don’t feel sorry for her at all. She’s not a 12-13 year old girl anymore(even though it may have started then). She was a grown woman chasing what she wanted. At what point do you hold an adult to being an adult. I feel for her loved ones. A loss is a loss to any heart and mind who cared for her. Just my two cents though.

  • big c

who or why would you want her to model for you rip maybe now god can show your true beauty

  • Sha

I remember her..she’s been battling this for a long time. May she rest in peace.

  • GoodyGirl

Instead of peta running around throwing paint on ppl they need to stand for a real cause and protest the modeling industry for employing these malnutrition models.

    • nana

I soooooooooooo agree with you, these peta people should throw paints onanorexic people and modelling agency employing them..by the way the article say:I dont know wht she died from??? hellooooooooooooooo duhhhhh

    • TruthandConsequences

People can be so ignorant. Anorexia and bulimia are mental disorders. And for people to speak out of one side of their mouths saying the woman is disgusting, but then call people like Rihanna fat when she walks on the beach in a bikini is what makes these women nuts! Pure ignorance! Especially in the black community. Those of you making negative comments about this woman’s disease go kick rocks! You display ignorance at it’s best.

    • Ing Stew

You could not have said this any better. Maybe they will think twice now. HELLO!!!!

  • Nymphis2freaky4church

she was modeling in Tokyo for the chopstick corporation.and making a few extra dollars demonstrating how they put that paper on the straws you get when you go thru the drive thru

    • Nor*cal

shame on you. making jokes about somebody’s 28 year old daughter who just died. If you’re older than 12 you should know better.

  • Bunny(formerly Angel/UrHeiness)

The modeling game is no joke!!! These women may be highly rewarded in this career besides all the glitz & glam however the price they have to pay just to maintain a certain image that seemed as “ideal/perfect” for these agencies is hella tough! To the extent where some even die trying to look “perfect”..shame! R.I.P

These agents should encourage young women to obtain a more realistic/healthy weight as opposed to rail thin where they pretty much have 1 foot in the grave..SMDH!

    • CAN AM

The Modeling Agencies provides the Clothing Designers with these stick figures. That’s who they want modeling their clothes. It’s sad.

  • Mrs. Rance

I find it pretty amazing that she was still booking gigs. Is that what the fashion industry likes and endorses? Insane.

  • 1TruDiva w/the PlatinumVocals--"Bwackka peepul don't teep!!!

    This STILL goes on? Smh.

  • so_sad

The modeling industry wants you to be a walking hanger and hollywood is right on it’s heels. Angelina Jolie has a tootsie pop head now, she is so ultra sick skinny and people glorify her beauty. It’s so sad, not to mention the fashion industry being predominantly gay and wanting women to look like boys. If you are feminine and curvy you are deemed fat. They want all females to look like keira knightly. Women have to stop looking to the media and fashion magazines to tell them what body image to have. Absolutely nothing wrong with having some meat on your bones. Being healthy does not equate to skinny. May this poor lady finally have peace now.

  • LaDiva

The pressure that women have to be thin disgusts me. And I feel for women who do not fit in to what society deems ‘healty’…There is nothing healty about seeing someone’s ribs. This indeed is a big problem. R.i.p Isabelle.
