Seems like award shows nowadays are full of awkward moments and uncomfortable pairings of celebrities who are supposed to interact like they’ve known each other for years. Last night at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards the trend continued strong with Neil Patrick Harris and Dana Owens.

The 2011 People’s Choice Awards ceremony was full of awkward moments, the most cringe-worthy involving host Queen Latifah and Neil Patrick Harris.

The duo started out on a promising note, dancing awkwardly together as the show returned after the commercial break. But then Queen Latifah made the mistake of asking the former Emmy and Tony host how she was doing.

“You’re doing OK, I give you a solid B+,” Harris said, boos erupting from the audience.

The “How I Met Your Mother” star tried to redeem himself by bringing up the fact that Latifah’s mic had acted up early on in the night.

“The microphone thing! What was with the microphone thing!” he said before changing Latifah’s grade to a “solid A with the wacka wacka wacka” referring to the host mocking a DJ while testing the mic.

Latifah responded by bringing up what appeared to be a mock rift between her and two former BET hosts (she hosted the show in 2010).

“Wait a minute, are you down with Mo’Nique [2007 BET host] or Jamie Foxx [2009 BET host] or something?” she asked as NPH looked genuinely concerned. “Why’re you hating on my stuff! B+? What?!”

Not only is it funny that Harris kept it funky about Latifah’s hosting techniques, but its pretty clear that despite both of them being gay Doogie don’t want any problems with The Kang. Can you imagine the headlines the next day? ‘A King Assaults A Queen Live On Stage’
