Tyler Perry is Doing it BIG

Posted by Bossip Staff

Madea’s alter ego, Tyler Perry, just made Oprah cry by becoming the first African-American person in history to own a major TV and film studio.

History was made Saturday night, when Tyler Perry became the first African-American ever to launch his own major TV and film studio. [...]A New Orleans native with a troubled childhood, Perry, 39, credited all of his guests with inspiring his life. Of Winfrey, who attended the celebration with longtime beau Stedman Graham and best friend Gayle King, Perry said, “She owns her life. I am learning that. I never would have shown this to people a few years ago. I was embarrassed by the success.” At one point, Perry unveiled a special surprise for veteran trailblazers Poitier, Dee and Tyson: each now has a soundstage named after him and her. “Is this my wall?” joked Poitier – as Winfrey dissolved into tears.

Say what you want about Madea being a minstrel act, but Tyler Perry’s got them Hollyweird folk eating out of palm of his hands.

Many more pics up under that thang when you…

He’s a credit to his race. Bravo. I wish more of you black people be like him and lead by example. Bravo.

  2. TPS …..Congratulations….

  3. Whatevs...

Tyler Perry is a testimony to the power of faith and deeds. I respect any brother who can turn nothing into something. His movies leave me a little perturbed from time to time; but no one is perfect. If I’m overtly critical towards him I block my own blessings.

And I also love the fact that Oprah openly loves and supports this brother.

  4. jstbnme

Congratulations Tyler!!! You do us proud!!

  5. I hate *****holes...

    Real Conservative.

Get the ***** off of this site with your bull***** perspective. Go find a site that will welcome your *****tard opinion with open arms.

    OBAMA STAN TO THE FULLEST!

  6. Kimberly Elise is such a spectacular actress.

  7. brightseat_bully

Congrats. Maybe ownership will help this dude stop making Sambo-esque movies.

  8. Dominique=Maxwell Fan♥

    That’s awesome!

We now have a better chance of seeing more black actors in movies & T.V thanks to Tyler Perry.[♥]

  9. congratulations.you make us very proud.

oprah open it for all of us.

  10. Trish

Congrats Tyler! I’m so proud of you. I love to see my black people doing big things.

  11. STOP TRIPPING!

john legend looks good! sandra rose says tyler perry is on the down low. is it true? i’m proud of him but i hate his movies.

  12. Nikki

Awesome! I hope he does a movie with Will Smith…that would be cool.

  13. HOLLYWOOD BS

What is EVa the Diva doing there? that talentless HO better sit her lame ***** down…f***king her way into industry parties like she has any talent and deserves to be there.

  14. HOLLYWOOD BS

Derek Duke is married to a white woman?

  15. WordtotheWise

TP is doing his thing. I’m so proud of him. He’s an example of how we can achieve as a people. He didn’t let his past dictate his future. Go Tyler!

  16. WordtotheWise

Hollywood B.S.>>>I think Eva was there because her boyfriend Lance (I forget his last name) is a cast member of TP’s “House of Payne.”

  17. elle

Congrats Tyler! This is such a good look.

Yeah, Eva’s boyfriend is one of the actors that works closely with Perry.

  18. Ara

Tyler Perry is doing it big!!! If I’m not mistaken, he said he wanted to make Atlanta the east coast hollywood or the black hollywood can’t remember which. Do your thing Mr. Perry.

  19. No matter what you may think about Parry, this night is huge and will hopefully make it in “true” black history books to inspire further generations and not appear as a small blurb in “his story” books. This is a major first that I thought I would never see in my lifetime and it has happened. I’m proud! So to all you losers out there, there is no excuse to succeeding in this world. To all the hoodrats, you’re not 7-11 so keep your legs closed and open your minds. There’s nothing cute about having a baby (that myself and others take care of – and we don’t want too) To the wannabee *****ster gangtas, keep your zipper up and stay in school. Also a 187 does not make you a OG. Everyone talks of change, the true change starts with this generation. If you’re parents are worthless, failures, not around, I feel for you. But if you need inspiration, try Tyler Parry and Oprah. It’s the 21 century *****es and there are no more excuses.

  20. HOLLYWOOD BS

Eva needs to stop f***king her way into industry parties…with is a broad of her status doing at a dignified event like this? and Bossip even has the audacity to include her pictures

  21. Correction on Tyler’s last name. It’s Perry. Sorry bro and thanks for showing what you can accomplish with you stay focused, finally! Next time I’m in the ATL, I’ll check out the facility. Peace and best wishes.

  22. Ara

It would be nice if some of the well known black actors would work with Mr. Perry to help him get established as a owner of a film studio. Tyler Perry mentioned that he was interested in Denzel Washington for one of his upcoming movie roles but by Denzel commanding 20 million per picture he did not know if he would be able to obtain him.

  23. memchee

may he never stop learning and seek to make sound business decisions…..

…happy for him and wishing him nothing but good luck, which he doesn’t really need considering his talent.

  24. CONGRATS TYLER HOPEFULLY NOW HE WILL START MAKING SERIOUS MOVIES TO COMPETE WITH OTHER STUDIOS.

THOSE MEDEA MOVIES ARE GETTIN REAL OLD

  25. KUDOS TO TYLER PERRY FOR FEEDING UP TO 1000

PEOPLE IN A FOOD DRIVE IN ATLANTA IT WAS LOST IN THE

NEWS CYCLE, NOW IF HE WERE BRAD PITT THAT WOULD BE A FRONT PAGE STORY BUT THATS JUST THE WAY IT IS

  26. Tahuh

Now that’s how you do it BIG! Loves it! Big ups to TP for making history. Hopefully I can get one of those 100 jobs he’s promised to bring to ATL!

You ain’t neva lied. Can’t knock his hustle, but he won’t be getting any more of my hard earned cash any time soon.

  28. ThinkFirstGirl

This is a post about somebody black doing something spectacular and we have people here cursing other black people-calling one a ho; one on the down-low. Come on black people can we stop demoralizing each other?. It’s time to stop this disgusting behaviour. This plantation style behaviour has got to stop. Stop calling each other these derogatory names.

Just be happy for the man. If you’re not just say so without the deragotary remarks about him and other black entertainers. There was a time when people that looked like you and I would get killed just because we dared to breathe the same air as someone white. Have some self-respect and gratutide for how far we have traveled and how much we’ve achieved with all the obstacles erected against us.

  29. DR.FUNK

T.Perry is a real gamer.Good for him.Hope he’s able to put many Black writers & tech support to work.More importantly I hope he TURNS A CONSISTENT PROFIT.Gotta laugh at how the media mafia is picketing his studio to hire union labor.

  30. Natasha

If anyone thinks negative about Tyler Perry than that is simply the devil!! Because what Tyler has been through to get to where he is now should be hope and inspiration to people who look like him! And the fact he is successful in an industry that does not cater to black folks shows when God has a plan for your life, no one can stand in your way honey!!!

  31. im no longer a fan of Tyler Perry’s “typical” movies, but I’m very much a fan of any black brother who worked his way up in white hollywood to get this money…and some of the power. Props to him.

  32. Hot Sauce

    HOLLYWOOD BS(Check me out!)

Derek Duke is married to a white woman?

hell yeh he marryd him a white woman. Shiiiid when you be gettin status and fame the last thing you do is marry a hoodho. Leeve that ***** for the suckas and lame *****s.

  33. OK

Very proud, saying it loud a la James Brown. May his tribe increase.

  34. always knew

Tyler!,brother I am sooooooo happy for you, despite the recent setbacks, it’s good to see you still getting yours! Congratulations! And keep doing you…

  35. ShavonDenise

Thats great!! Man people dont understand what the Oprah’s, the Will’s, and the Tyler’s do in the industry. Like owning your own stuff in the industry is like the difference between selling crack vs. weed. Its like either Will can demand a flat 20 million dollar salary or he can take 10 and produce the movie so he can get a % of the gross revenue which will often times triple what he wouldve made on a set salary. What Tyler is doing is not answering to studios. He can make the films he wants to make without a big name out of touch studio exec saying its not “enough” of something. Most times with Black movies they want all of us to fit into a stereotypical role with ghats and fowl language. Big ups to T.P. for doing big things and also, most importantly, paying homage to those people who didnt have it as easy as the modern generation has it.

  36. sniper

    WHO’S TYLER PERRY?

  37. DA TRUFF ??? YOU CAN'T HANDLE DA TRUFF!!!!!!!

    CONGRAT’S TO T.P.!

HE WORKED HARD TO COME UP FROM NOTHING TO HIS CHITTLIN’ CIRCUIT PLAYS, THEN MOVIES, NOW A STUDIO!

HE PROVED YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A HOLLYWOOD INSIDER TO MAKE IT IN THE BIZ!

  38. WeStKoaSt

    You Go TP! You Go!

  39. Creole Baby Says Y'all Haters Betta Get On Job Bebe

tyler is from my neck of da woods. congratulations

  40. It is a histroic day, but he is still not paying the writers on his show the correct wage or into the *****on or giving them helath benefits. I’m not knocking the accomplishment, but he knows how hard it is and to deny seven people the right to the correct wage and health benefits, he’s paying the actors, the crew and the directors (which he is the only one) those things is unfair. Okay now here comes the “hater” posts towards, but fair is fair. If this were a white man doing it to black writers black folks would be up in arms about this. Al Sharpton and Jesse would be searching for a press conference to talk.

  41. who said Madea was a minstrel act?

  42. Buckey Chrome

    @ Nita,

It’s such a minstrel act. It’s hard for me to really be proud of someone who’s single handedly revived “Mamie” and brought her to the silver screen. I hope I don’t come across as hating but this *****’s got to stop! I cannot embrace this. If it was Denzel, Don, Forest, Will SMith, F Gary Gray, Bill Duke doing it I would be so so proud. I just can’t get down with his movies man….I really can’t I’m sorry ya’ll. Not trying to rain on anyone’s parade but we are better than this.

  43. Buckey Chrome

    @ Rusty Eagle,

    I agree with you man…..100%

  44. Sideshow Bob

I’m happy for Tyler as well. I hope he don’t fall victim to Hollywood for real and start excluding black actors. He’s already recycling the ones he has now like there ain’t no more black actors out there. And why are his writers striking him?

  45. hope4more

Little do people know that this is not the first black studio in history, there was one back in the 1920’s which made over 200 films. One may have been Fly Boys with Harry Belafonte. I have to research cause I can’t remember the name now, can anyone else remember? Debra Lee pay attention and start changing that programing at BET, it has not had a program make over in years.

  46. Encyclopedia Brown

You minstrel writers at Bossip should post positivity like this more often

  47. Zenbabe

Way to go Tyler!!! I hope that through this one man, he can do what other great black filmmakers like Spike Lee have been hoping to do for a really long time and have laid the foundation for guys like Tyler, to find the industry ready and waiting… I hope and pray that Atlanta does become the black Hollywood of America and that they give them pinkies on the west coast a run for their money…

  48. Bella

YES TYLER HAS COME A LONG WAY, I GIVE HIM PROPS. I JUST HOPE HE CAN KEEP IT GOING AND MONEY IN THE BANK.

  49. mzsweetface

I wish more celebs would follow in his footsteps. Maybe then there would be more black TV shoes and more black films in theatres.

  50. warning:very opinionated

CONGRATULATIONS BROTHER. LOVE ME SOME TYLER…

HE PROVES *****ODY WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT SKIN COLOR YOU OR WHERE EVER YOU MAY DERIVE FROM ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE THROUGH FAITH IN GOD AND DETERMINATION…THANK YOU TYLER FOR BEING SUCH A POSITIVE EXAMPLE TO OUR PPL.

    MAY GOD KEEP YOU BLESS.

  51. Jade Hummingbyrd

This is rather random but…Kirk Franklin and “guest”? Sooo…that isn’t his wife then? I don’t remember much about how she looks but I think she’s got a bigger booty than the chick on his arm and thus I conclude that all is not well?

  52. She's a GOALdigger

I thought Oprah was the first to do that. Harpo productions and the oxygen channel. Well…kudos to you bro

  53. She's a GOALdigger

I thought oprah was the first to do that? Kudos to you Mr. Perry!

  54. Kompton's Kutie {{Suivez la Faveur}}

    Congrats Tyler! YEAH!

  55. Way to go Tyler. He is unbelievable successful…is this the typical part where the “pink toe” ends up on the arm. Not tryin to hate or speculate…I am prayin it doesn’t.

  56. Jasgood

Congratulations Tyler. That’s what’s up. I like his movies. There is truth in em.

  57. uptowngirl

Congrats to him. Maybe now he will make some better movies. No hate just real talk.

  59. Jay

Dude really gives off A LOT of gay vibes.

  60. tg

May God continue to Bless him and his success. I’m really happy someone can have some good news out here today.

  61. Donny Boi

As much as I’d like to be completely happy for Tyler, I’m torn by this. He just fired four BLACK writers on his show because they had the nerve to ask for MINIMUM Union wages. The actors, and production crew are all receiving Union scale, so why not the writers? They helped him write 100 episodes and get his big deal, and then they got fired via conference call. As a writer myself I find this outrageous. Obviously Mr. Perry can afford to pay them. They just wanted health benefits and residuals just like any other writer. Were they supposed to accept less because they were black and should be happy to be working for him? He was homeless and living in his car. Perry should know better.

  62. Donny Boi

Spike Lee wrote on a public message board:

    Tyler,

Come on, man. Being a writer yourself you should know how important it is to be a union member and support union wages and benefits for those who you employ on your writing staff.

Look at the temperature of the country now with corporate greed and with the very few profiting off of the very many. Don’t fall into that trap.

    “Do the Right Thing.”

    – Spike

  63. WhatsYoursIsMine

    Congratulations, Tyler!

  64. Wordz Of a Prophet (Blessed 4rm da womb 2 da tomb)

Im proud of him. True example of getting up off your ***** and making something happen for yourself… more ppl should be like this, its commendable

  65. Its6amHoGetOut

I beg to differ bossip, Tyler has uneducated, low income slow blacks eating out of his hand by selling them warmed over dog***** as entertainment and charging them full price for it, Tyler’s not interested in quality, he’s interested in getting as many dumb *****es/*****s into theatre as possible and seperating them from their $10.

  66. I actually love TPs movies. I think he shows the different dynamics of black people. How anyone can say that his movies are like minstrel shows is beyond me. My family consists of Madea. IT also consists of Robin Givens type charachters in “…Family that Preys”. I love his movies and will continue to support them when they come to theaters.

  67. Its6amHoGetOut

Lets all celebrate the opening of the new “Tyler Perry/ Stepin’ Fetchit” academy for coonin’

  68. Blacksmith

Glad for him, with his own production studio, he should now be able to put out more ‘developed’ characters and films and show more complex stories of black folk.

    Handle it, Tyler.

  69. lala#1

Tyler Perry is a prime example that you DO NOT have to be a product of your environment! Anyone can acheive and aspire to do better and be better no matter what their cir*****stances..

  70. Jahpson

    Progress…

thats whats up! very proud of him.

I will be watching just to support

  77. 1968 was one of the worst times in the lives of blacks. 2008 has got to be the best. Tyler Perry’s studio, Barack’s (almost) win, Spike Lee finally getting the respect he deserves from Hollyweird. Congrats to all!

It’s6am….LMMAO. Here’s hoping TP’s new company won’t result in my people being subjected to more coon-dom and downright bafoonery. Hopefully he was just producing bullsh*t because he knew that would bring in the black dollars. Maybe now he has the money and backup to make quality films. Here’s hoping anyway…

  82. gimme a break (vote for change)

  86. FLY_GUY

I hope that he GROWS in his “art” —-

he is UNTHREATENING and GENIAL and

GOOD NATURED —- nothing wrong with

    that.

I just hope that he realizes that

“Medea” is a diversion —- and that

he grows enough to produce art.

  87. Carla

I’m not a fan of Tyler’s films but that’s cool that he has a movie studio !

  88. RaphaelK

Big up to Tyler. its about time, a true rags to riches story he is. Even though he makes coonery movies he’s come a freaking long way. But Why is Will all on his chest like that!

  89. FURIOUZ STYLEZ

YO AS MUCH AS TIRED PERRY LIKES DRESSIN’ AS A WOMAN YOU NEVER SEE HIM WITH ONE…SUP WITH THAT “HOW-YOU-DOIN’” *****

–HE MAKES DAMN NEAR A BILLIONAIRE SALARY…***** HE CAN AFFORD A DECENT LOOKIN’ BEARD ON HIS ARM

  90. MJ

For the folks saying Tyler Perry’s movies are about “minstrels,” you’re way off base. Minstrelsy was typified by white men dressing in black face and mocking a perverse vision they had of blacks. Tyler offers positive images of Black American life…it’s the complete opposite.

If you’re trying to say it’s the mammie character that offends you, then, first of all, you don’t know much about Black American culture. Matriarchs have been the foundation of our families for centuries; this is an extension of our African heritage. Because he makes his version comedic doesn’t mean it’s stereotypical or offensive.

Secondly, half of Perry’s movies hardly even deal with Madea– Daddy’s Little Girls: a single black working cl***** father trying to find love and raise his children, Why Did I Get Married: a group of successful, educated black couples who are dealing with the pressures of marriage and find ways to heal their relationships or themselves, The Family that Preys: *****esses how money can lead to corruption and greed. Even the ones WITH Madea all centered on spirituality and promoting strong family bonds. Do your homework before you knock the dude.

I was never into the chitlin curcuit, and I do get tired of stereotypical, shuckin and jiving productions, but I cannot call Perry’s films any of these.

I’m so glad this is in my city (ATL!!). Blessings to you my brotha! This is an historic event, and if you think you can do better, let this inspire you to do more.

  91. star jones looks like a uncir*****sized ***** when she’s naked.imagine all that excess flab hanging,iiiggggg.

  92. maddzzu (Not just cause hez black cause hez BLACK & QUALIFIED!!!!!)

CONGRATS TO HIM !! lol buts its true he does give a gay vibe

  93. terry

his movies are making big stacks but producer beware! Ideas are hard to come buy.The folks behind this are going to want more than a nicca dressed up as some ole ***** granny talking that “Looky he-ah Tyrones”.He’s going to have to turn it up a notch and that will require more money. and as it stands, his low budget fracas gets a lot of bang for the buck. And things become riskier as the budgets grows. Aside from that, I’m proud of him.

    PS

I don’t watch them bull***** ***** Medea movies!

Before bamas try to define minstrelsy, maybe they should 1) look it up, or 2) rent “Bamboozled”

  98. A MESSAGE FROM: MICHAEL AJAKWE JR.

SUPPORTER OF THE “HOUSE OF PAYNE UNJUSTLY FIRED FOUR”

Tyler Perry, with all his millions, can afford to treat his writing staff like any other comedy writing staff in our industry. The fact that he, a writer himself, has chosen to screw over not just his writers but the folks who helped make “House of Payne” a success says more about not just him but also reveals a sort latent, maybe even subconscious, self-hatred that he has for his own (i.e., other writers). I have always found it interesting that his show is SAG and DGA but not WGA. He knows that no matter how rich he claims he is, Allan Payne and some of the other more notable actors would not appear on that show if it wasn’t SAG. Even when he appears on the show, he gets SAG wages, pension etc. I also find it extremely interesting that he doesn’t write any of the episodes but directs all of them and, of course, the show is DGA, which means Tyler Perry receives a DGA rate for directing plus all the goodies (pension, health and welfare) that come with it.

It’s amazing how a brother can start off doing so much good and wanting to make so many positive changes in our industry (and let’s give the man his due, he has done a lot in a relatively short period of time), yet fall prey to the same draconian mentality when it comes to his own folks that other “Black media entrepreneurs” like Bob Johnson have done. I mean, we will now be talking about Tyler Perry in the same breath as Bob Johnson — a guy who made a billion dollars but who had an image problem inside and outside of the Black and entertainment community. People do not hold him up in anywhere near the same light as an Oprah Winfrey. He’s not even in Oprah’s shadow’s shadow. Yet they both have reaped billions through the media. Oprah, for all her success and riches, is almost always viewed as cl*****y. You NEVER hear about any unions *****ing about not being treated right by her Harpo. Why should they? Everybody knows there is more than enough money to go around. With BET, I know people who worked there whose checks used to bounce. And this was after the company had been around 10, 15 years. The programming, for the most part, seemed to cater to the lowest-common denominator (booty videos and gyrating hos). And when they finally (after God knows how long) did find a signature show in “Comic View”, what did BET do? It did not want to pay the comics SAG/AFTRA rates so it moved its operations to Atlanta (Hmmm… sound familiar?) and produced the show there. The comics, I was told, had to fly themselves in, put themselves up in hotels and buy their own food. They didn’t get paid when the show reran and got nothing on the DVD sales. It was a travesty. A lot of comics either refused to do the show out of protest or did it out of desperation, which is what I believe BET was banking on. Did Bob Johnson give a rat’s ***** that these comedians were being exploited? Uh… HELL NO! He had his billions.

Well, Tyler Perry is acting the same way. He seems to be saying, whether he realizes it or not, that having millions of dollars makes him better than the next man; makes him impervious to rules and doing what is right; and permits him to ***** over other Black professionals who are just trying to get what their White counterparts are getting that this so-called “emerging billionaire’s” company is more than capable of paying. It’s just a bunch of “***** mess,” as my mom used to say. And all this man ever talks about when he’s not dressed up like a fat gun-toting Black woman is Jesus and the Lord. Would God approve of what Tyler Perry just did to his writing staff? Or would God say, “But Tyler, I’ve made you so rich. Don’t you think you should share the wealth accordingly?” Tyler Perry may not realize it, but his actions say that he worships the Almighty Dollar more than his God. Because, again, he can’t cry broke. He can’t cry poor. There is no reason why he can’t do what is right and fair because that is what God, what his Bible would instruct him to do if he still adhered to it. He still talks that talk, but he has clearly stopped walking it.

Maybe he will just write all of the episodes himself, direct them and then play all of the characters. After all, he’s Tyler Perry! He can do anything! Who needs writers! Everybody knows scripts write themselves!

The biggest crime that will come out of this is that the Black press, I believe, will not go after him for what he is doing. There will be a general feeling of “let’s not bring this successful Black man down.” You know how we do. A brother could be running over children, but let him be successful, rich or famous and watch the Black collective make excuses for his bad behavior and try and justify it. Our so-called “Black leaders” will be silent because they want to make sure they get invited to the yacht parties and other fun stuff rich and famous Black folks like Tyler do. Did you ever see our so-called “Black leaders” go after Bob Johnson during his 25-year reign of terror on the Black community? Of course not. You think Oprah will check her boy Tyler for screwing over his writing staff? Uh, I doubt it. Black folks, we need to stop giving a p***** to Black entrepreneurs who use their power to bully and mistreat other Blacks in business. We need to stop making excuses for their wickedness and call them on it to keep them honest because we all know that if Bob Johnson was a White man BET would’ve either had to clean up it’s act way back in the 80s or it would’ve been shut down. And you also know that if Tyler Perry was a White guy, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be picketing outside his mansion at this very moment, trying to get him to “do right by the brothers.”

I wish I was in Atlanta. If I was, I would be picketing right alongside Teri Brown-Jackson, Kellie Griffin, Christopher Moore and Lamont Ferrell. I happen to know them all personally and they are all good people. They did not deserve to be treated like garbage and put out on the street for pick up just because they stood up for themselves after two years; stood up for something Tyler and his minion of mostly Yes Men at his company know is fundamentally right. How they justify screwing over writers (“Because we can!” they are probably saying) escapes me. It’s mean-spirited, un-Christian, anti-Black, and just *****ing gangsta. It’s not right. And the people at Tyler Perry Studios know it’s not right, but they’ve been allowed to get away with it for 126 episodes, they’ve gotten comfortable/used to viewing writers as disposable (of course, they all see themselves as “indispensable”). But the people who have helped give TP Studios value are summarily dismissed. Tyler’s people who are signifying as he makes bad decisions such as this should keep in mind that if he could ***** over these guys, guess what? He can, and probably will, someday ***** over them too. So if I’m in the TP Braintrust, I’m watching my back for the elusive but very real TP Shank. Again, and I mean this, IF TYLER PERRY WAS WHITE HE WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. HE WOULD GET CALLED OUT ON HIS BULL*****. WELL, I AM CALLING TYLER PERRY OUT RIGHT NOW.

I don’t care if Tyler Perry reads this and I don’t care if he never hires me or wants to work with me. I had a career in this business long before he did and Tyler Perry has never paid any of my bills. I continue to thrive in the industry without what he has to offer. And even though we don’t know each other and have never met, I have never wished him ill. I have always sung his praises and told others to support him. I also recently saw my first Tyler Perry anything when I caught “A Family That Preys,” which I actually enjoyed. But those days are over. So long as Tyler Perry disrespects and devalues writers by not paying a fair wage, I will NEVER support any of his creative endeavors again. I will also tell everyone I know not to support him. If enough people take a stand against Black-On-Black (Brothers-Exploiting-Brothers) Crime, it will stop being profitable for the perpetrators. I know Tyler Perry doesn’t care if I support him or not, but if enough people like me say “enough!” he will have to care because he won’t have an audience to support his films and TV shows.

You cannot screw people over and expect to get blessed, Tyler. Don’t work that way. You know that. And you have been EXTREMELY blessed. Maybe you have gotten so big for your britches because of all of your success that, brother; you are out of touch more so than you think. It can happen to anybody and now it appears it is happening to you; you who s*****ed on the scene from such meager and humble beginnings. I have seen the family that preys. And it wasn’t on the big screen at the ArchLight. It is happening in Atlanta, at your studio where you are supposed to be trying to empower and build Black folk in this business not oversee and punish them for being talented, Black and in need.

No matter who you are, what you drive, where you live or how much money you got in the bank, *****ody is on top forever. What goes up must dome down. Just ask Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Mike Tyson, *****nio Hall, M.C. Hammer, Red Foxx, and Bill Cosby. What goes up must eventually come down. A universal law. That being said, unjustifiable and vile actions like what Tyler Perry allowed to happen to his loyal writing staff (a staff he had already pimped out for 126 episodes) leads me to believe that Tyler Perry is sewing the seeds of his demise. So stay tuned.
