Maybe, maybe not.
Johnny Fratto (the son of mobster Louis “Cock-Eyed” Fratto) is suing Cannon for intellectual property theft. Fratto claims that Mr. Mariah Carey ripped off his reality television show idea — or at least title — “Son of Gun”. According to reports Fratto has been shopping around a show (about the life of family after departing from the mafia) with the same name since 2004. Cannon’s show follows the life of rapper Cory Gunz, son of Peter Gunz (of “Déjà vu ‘Uptown Baby’” fame).
Fratto doesn’t play when it comes to money. He’s already sent MTV a cease and desist letter, and wants the network to change the name of the show. Seems like if his pockets take a hit someone else may too.
