Maria Sharapova Calls Serena Williams Intimidating, “Bigger” In Person

Maria Sharapova plays tennis, but has made career off of talking about her opponent, new glowing momma Serena Williams. In seemingly every interview, all she does is discuss different matters regarding Williams and continually shows that she should really just keep her mouth shut when it comes to her foe.

The latest installment of Maria’s chit chat about her opponent comes from her new memoir, ‘Unstoppable: My Life So Far.’ She reveals her feelings about Serena and says that, “even now, she can make me feel like a little girl.” It’s the description of Williams that Sharapova details in the book that has everyone talking.

“First of all her physical presence is much stronger and bigger than you realize watching TV. She has thick arms and thick legs and is so intimidating and strong. It’s the whole thing – her presence, her confidence, her personality.”

Intimidating? Ummm….for reference, Maria Sharapova is 6’2″ while her “stronger and bigger” opponent” is 5’9″. Seems legit. Naturally, this got everybody talking and bringing up the fact that there’s much more muscular white women in tennis who would never be called intimidating by their fellow caucasian.

Hit the flip to see the people of Twitter speak their piece on Sharapova’s questionable words about Serena.
