I agree with the poster who said where are these folks when it comes to issues of black on black violence, fatherlessness in our community, and drugs destroying our bodies? The white man can only be taken to task so often. They stay silent on our inner ills and even DEFEND them. Why? I give these folks credit for breaking down doors, yet once they started lining their pockets they became ineffective. Again, why are they silent when it comes to what we can do to help each other after the white man stops being the main concern?

Am perturbed. He was arrested for a peaceful march, but not the cocaine. What is the world coming to? African Americans, lets hold each other accountable! We don’t need anyone but ourselves to solve African American crime. Maybe if we stop the violence with each and value ourselves more, so will the police. I believe in all of us. Crime is not just an African American issue, its a world issue, but lets be the example, Sarah Palin watch out, if your qualified, I am overqualified. Troppergate coming your way!

Why does everything always have to be about color??? Why can’t everyone just get along??? Every man and women have the same thing!!! The police shouldn’t target any race but every race should do what they can to bring themselves up and prove that not all white, black, hisp., or etc are the same. You also shouldn’t go out committing crimes to make it the easy way and then get upset when you get caught. Everyone has a chance in this world to make a better life for themselves and THEY are responsible for their own actions. If your doing what you can and trying to better yourself NO MATTER what life brings your way you can have a productive and happy life without the worry of crime and people trying to hurt you all the time. Everyone should be helping eachother to make this a better world especially for our children. Show a good example that you want them to make it further in this world than you even did. They do what they see and now are out committing crimes at 14 yrs of age including killing people with guns. Where are the parents that should be teaching and guiding these kids in the right direction??? EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE EQUAL RIGHT BUT DON’T THINK THAT YOU ARE OWED ANYTHING. YOU STAY IN SCHOOL AND WORK HARD AND YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT!

Why is Al out when there is a killing of a young black man by the cops when young black men kill each other every day? I am mad and against the killing of Sean Bell myself and may he rest in peace, but what about this epidemic of black men killing black men? Where is Al & Jesse then? They have their priorities strewed up. They should be on the road and trying to reach out to our young men and get them on the right track, getting an education, away from gangs, out of prisons and away from the grave. I guess that is not of any importance. It is okay if our sons kill each other, but the cops better not. Al & Jesse are pathetic and are in no way concerned about the civil rights era. They are too busy going to parties & taking pictures with celebrities. Yeah, Dr. King would really be proud.

While I usually have a strong opinion about the topic I would have to say that I am stradling the fence this time.

Al does make money off black people, extorting our suffering and pain because that’s part of what’s he’s here for. He aint just doing this out of the kindness of his heart, he looking for some money too cuz he don’t have a regular job or a job period for that matter.

But then again I do see the point that he has raised awareness to alot of young people about things they would never know becuase you right Cliff, they don’t open books and read. There’s nothing wrong with Sharpton wanting to protest the brutal murder of this man and the police officers who got off on his murder. All he is saying is that there is no justice for this man and his family. WHATS SO WRONG WITH PUTTING THE POLICE ON BLAST????
