I don’t think that Black people are looking for Obama to show any type of favoritism WHEN HE IS ELECTED simply because he is Black – he is actually bi-racial but you know about the 1-drop rule. Also, many of us believe in personal responsibility. All we want is for things to be fair and truly equal. I think that Black people are willing to take responsibility, but that should include other ethnicities also. There is the widely held misconception that we want something for free; that is not the case, all we want is for things to be fair. We do not mind working for or paying for what we want, but we have to be able to get jobs that pay a living wage in order to do that. How many times have you personally seen a white person with only a BS or lower degree making mad loot while Blacks can have BS and higher degrees but just never get the opportunity to have the high paying jobs. and also, they seem to find high paying jobs in fields that they did not major in, if we go for an interview and the qualifications say a BS degree plus 5 years of experience, then we do not get called back if we have anything less. That is not fair, if they can get jobs, mortgages, cars, credit cards, etc, without being qualified, than the same thing should be true for everybody! Thats just all I’m saying. African Americans feel that Obama will understand this dynamic a little better than Mccain will. So Mr Harris, it is not about wanting something for nothing, it is about wanting things to be fair.

When did Obama/Dems ever say that people shouldn’t take personal responsibility? Obama has said that families/individuals need to step up and do their part in being good and productive citizens, and that the gov’t should be there to support the things families or individuals can’t do all by themselves (i.e. infrastructure projects, access to better health care). This belief by conservatives that “liberals” don’t take ownership of their lives is wrong and ridiculous.

I live in Milwaukee, WI, and I know this guy. He used to be a High School teacher, but now he’s is a black conservative talk show host trying to make a name for himself. He’s he’s got a part-time show on a station here, but I think he’s trying to get some attention so he can get a full-time job somewhere.
