Crime is a Recession’s Best Friend

Crime is expected to go up due to the current recession:
The last time stocks on Wall Street fell hard, in 1987, crime was exploding, and the city saw historic highs in murders in the following years.
Before that, the fiscal crisis of the 1970s helped lead to the abandonment of neighborhoods, failing schools and startling crime rates: robberies built through those years to a high in 1981, when there were 107,495 of them, for an average of 294 a day. (Last year’s total reported robberies, 21,787, was the lowest figure in modern history.)
“Every recession since the late ’50s has been associated with an increase in crime and, in particular, property crime and robbery, which would be most responsive to changes in economic conditions,” said Richard Rosenfeld, a sociologist at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Typically, he said, “there is a year lag between the economic change and crime rates.”

You know it too, right! I said this a couple of weeks ago that it was going to go back “to the 80’s when people used to get knocked upside their heads for their leather bombers.” The was during the crack error.
My man leaves earlier than I do to go to work. He came home last week and told me, “Baby, I’m seeing all kinds of clowns hanging out around the train station.” I told him hell yeah. They scoping to see who leaves for work and at what time so that they can get people schedules down.
Afiya’s right; keep ya heads up. Don’t use the same routes going / coming back from work. Leave at different times and LADIES, if you are going to work late get that cab voucher or have your man / husband / friend meet you at the train station so that you don’t walk alone.
The have some damn scalple up by this building where I live. I don’t walk under that *****. I WALK IN THE DAMN STREET. There’s a little alley way near that thing and is a perfect spot to hide if you wanna catch somebody slippin’.

This is just the beginning. Yes, Bush has created this mayhem!! If he would have put his country before his personal beef, and paid attention to the economy as well as the war then we would not have been in this mess!

But the economy is bare and their is basically a drought (on street money) so you know what that means!!! Who remembers FORT APACHE THE BRONX? That movie was filmed in my neighborhood. My girls went to Head Start in Murphy Projects on Crotona Avenue. I STILL remember how Boston Road & 174th looked before they built all them single-family homes in that area. I went to the movies @ Dover and Deluxe theaters.
