Word is that Jay-Z is in negotiations to leave Island Def Jam and follow his boo, Beyonce, over to Columbia Records. Def Jam co-founder and now Columbia co-chair, Rick Rubin, is making a change in his staff at Columbia.

“He’s creating a supergroup of staff,” a second source explains. “So it would make sense that he would want Jay on his side.”

Hell yeah, especially since Jay-Z will be able to bring ownership of his own master recordings including his personal puppet/chart-topper Rihanna along for the ride. We all saw this coming a long time ago…
