Rumors are flying around that Magic pulled the old, “I have the HIV,” one on us:
Magic Johnson says he’s outraged that a pair of Minneapolis talk radio hosts accused him of faking AIDS. KTLK’s Chris Baker and Langdon Perry made the remarks during Baker’s conservative talk show on Wednesday. Perry responded by asking about treatable diseases that a person can live with for a long time “if you just get some basic drugs.” Baker responded, “Like Magic Johnson?” Perry replied, “Like Magic with his faked AIDS. Magic faked AIDS.” Baker said, “You think Magic faked AIDS for sympathy?” Perry replied, “I’m convinced that Magic faked AIDS.” “Me too,” Baker said. Johnson issued a statement Thursday saying he was “outraged that Chris Baker and Langdon Perry would minimize such a serious and deadly issue.”
“Millions are dying from HIV/AIDS, and the fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable,” Johnson said. “Chris, Langdon and KTLK should use their power in a more positive light by encouraging people to get tested for this disease instead of making up such ridiculous lies.”
Why would showtime fake HIV? SMH.

Why would someone be stupid enough to fake having HIV/AIDS? No, I do not believe he faked it. I think the man takes care of himself by eating right, exercising, and taking meds. He was diagnosed in its early stage, thus he caught it in the nick of time. There’s a girl named Hydeia Broadbent who had AIDS as a little child (she used to be a guest on Maury’s show) and she’s now 24 years old.
Why would someone want to lie and say they have AIDS? People with HIV/AIDS are incredibly stigmatized, why would someone subject themselves to this unless it were really true? Magic has tons of money and star power so he might have medical treatments available to him that others don’t, which could explain his seemingly good health despite his HIV positive status.
I hate to rant but It’s a saaaad day when the Black family has such fleeting faith in this “NEW WORLD”, that we wonder if a person faked a testimony about being a big-time w*****monger, getting the AIDS virus, repenting and doing right (i.e. being faithful to your wife and only sexing that one person, as God intended) recovering and going on to live a happy, prosperous, God-fearing life.
Those white boys can’t wrap their minds around the concept because they’ve never been blessed to have a relationship like that with our Lord….EVER!!!! They’ve always worshiped Satan. All you have to do is check out their true roots, in Europe. God is a fad for the greatest majority of them, Fake *****- Jews and all. Jews were Hebrews…aka…BLACK!! and we’ll always be in God’s eyes. I wish we’d wake up and smell the Sanka. I love Magic (minus the nickname) for putting his business out here like he did so SOME OF US may change. I know I did when AIDS came on the scene. Anyone who thinks Magic or anybody else would fake AIDS is an absolute idiot! And Magic doesn’t have AIDS, he’s HIV positive. I know people who have lived with HIV going on 20 years and are still healthy. And they aren’t rich. They take the same meds Magic has access to.
Majic has HIV, not AIDS. He was lucky that he had the funds and the physical health to be extremely agressive in his treatment. That 10 year rule has been blown away for anyone that gets the virus now. you can live far longer with today’s treatments. Let’s not have one of the best “black” websites be ignorant on one of the central issues of our comunity. Bossip, do better
Not so much faking, but faking if he is cured or not?
He has been alive for a long time and has put on amples amount of weight? He is even looking a little bit obesed?
There is a cure for AID’s and HIV, but it is big business with the DNA altering AIDs drugs, and also it is a population controller also.
You know MILLIONS in Africa are being diagnosed with AIDs even though they do not have the disease, it is said they have a weak low immune system (via hunger) many suffer with sickle cell trait and malaria at the same time…then get diagnosed wrong, get put on the AID’s drugs and die of the result of the way the drugs alters their DNA….as well as starving to death also.
Anyway, I just wonder if Magic is cured, rather than never had it in the first place?
I’m dissapointed in you Bossip. You’re only perpetuaing more stupidity. With all of the stigma, social outcasting, and emotional turmoil a person goes through, why the hell would anyone even dream of faking something like that?

I cannot believe that after 25 years we are still horribly miseducated about HIV/AIDS. Magic announced that he had HIV. At the time, it was normal for HIV to take 10-20 years to morph to AIDS. Thanks to treatments people with HIV are not guaranteed a definite death sentence.
Apparently, it was early enough for Magic. Freddie Mercury ended up dying about two weeks after Magic’s announcement. It was way to late for him.

I personally know people who have lived with HIV since the late 80s and still walk among us. They are not wealthy either so it is unfair that people claim he “bought” his health. And if he did, so what??? Wouldn’t YOU if you could??

He was ridiculed and scorned and dang near pushed out of his career and STILL made a life for himself and his family. Why would he do that intentionally?

Plenty of people who were diagnosed in the 80’s are alive and kicking. There are people who have HIV who don’t even have symptoms. They are called elite controllers. How do I know? I read. I think a lot of Bossip is funny, but this is just stoopid and too many of our folks are already walking around with HIV and ignant as hell. I got tested, everyone should.

He never said he had AIDS. He said he is HIV positive. I guess ignorance is bliss. I remember reading an article about 10 years ago in Ebony when his wife said she and Magic didn’t even think he had HIV anymore because he was so healthy back then. I wonder if she still feels that way now.
Ok, why would anyone, especailly back in that day and time, when if you had it you where for the most part labled gay, fake having AIDs, who knows, He has been around, and never been in the news for being hospitalized, for something related to aids, kind of subspect, but I still dont believe this story.

I read this story on fox sports yesterday. I don’t blame magic for being *****ed off. That is ignorant to suggest that he is feigning a deadly disease.
A man with HIV can’t buy hus health. His body adapted well to the medicine. Some others can’t and the disease takes control. There are no special meds for the wealthy.

I’m sure Earvin bought the cure if there ever was one, which I believe there is. Chris Rock eloquently stated that they make money on the “comeback” for prescription drugs. Money isn’t in the cure and they know that. Leaving AIDS out there as an incurable disease also serves as some silly method of population control. They thought they could use it as a morality control as well.
Pimped Magic out there as one of GHW Bush’s 1,000 pts of life. He was to educate his people. I believe he did that and did it well. Back then, guys stopped poking everything that moved. Now, that season is over and people have gone back to unprotected sex and have thrown caution to the wind.

Look Magic barely has any traces of the HIV virus (if any). That should be front page news Period People. I have been asking my friends that exact question for 5 years. Some serious questions need to be asked and answered on the HIV issue. We need to be kept up on the lastest info at all times. It shouldn’t be just for the priviledge. It’s only allowed cause we the people don’t ask questions we just accept, so we die he lives………..What exactly is he taken for his treatment???

There is no such thing as HIV. People die from the drugs and the prognosis of death. There is no evidence that HIV exists. The HIV tests merely show mucosa and pathogens in the body. This is ***** science people. Has anyone here seen “HIV” under a microscope or are you reciting what you see on TV? Africa has been hit with fake tests for AIDS because of the amount of raw and fertile land that’s going to be used for food production and raw materials once the African Union(new world order) is in place. Welllll I always felt the he lied about having aids. I felt that they wanted him to say that he had aids so people could have a reaction to the virus. It was at a time when he was a big Basketball star and people felt like ‘I COULD NEVER GE ANYTHING LIKE THAT’. If he does he does, if he doesnt he doesnt. The final point I’ll make in here is that almost all pathogen diseases are p*****ed from male to female. It takes a significant amount of cc’s of female vaginal fluid for a man to get any dis-ease from a woman. In essence, if Magic has anything. He has homosexuality and was a bottom betch. The ***** has to draw A LOT of female fluids in a reversed suction effect after ejaculating. The so called HIV drugs are EXTREMELY powerful and will kick your body’s azz. That’s how you die.

Your 0925 post was the first rational thing I could agree with. Its TRUE.. HIV is spread primarily through MALE-to-MALE contact. Men having sex with infected men, then p*****ing it out like nickel candy to any one else he sleeps with.
While Magic may not have traces of the virus in his blood stream, that is very possible given the strength of today’s medications, or “*****tails”. *****tails are often given to pregnant mothers to prevent the infection in newborns. In someone with a relatively low viral load (amount of copies of the disease in your blood), taking a *****tail will eradicate traces of the disease HOWEVER, you are NOT CURED. You still have the virus and even then the disease will CONTINUE to replicate and regenerate in your body i.e. organs, blood, etc.
At the present time, I do NOT believe that there is a cure for the virus, but who the hell knows.
I do know that IT IS REAL. It is DEADLY. And that without the proper EDUCATION OF THE M*****ES it will continue to wreak havoc on our community.

I have a friend in the Medical industry and she gave me food for thought… when you come up positive w/HIV they test you again. How do we know that the HIV postive wasn’t aired b4 he had the 2nd test completed? I doubt that someone would walk around and lie about having AIDS. But Rock Hudson had way more money than Magic did and he died along with other famous stars. Just thought I’d share that.
