    I want to say I love beyonce but I am growing apart from her music because it is not very mature. She is knocking on 30 and she is still making music for a 15 year old. I know beyonce has not been through a lot in her life. The most dramatic thing that has ever happened to her was the break-up of destiny child. She has always had it good, so it reflects in her music. I am in my 30’s and I can not relate to her music anymore. Most 30 something women are married with children. So she does not write or sing about anything because she has not experienced anything. She need to go home and listen to Carl thomas first album and translate that into a female version album and she will have grown ***** woman music or she needs to find some writers who has been through some things and have them write a few songs for her, and not her dumb ***** sister, she doesnt know anything either. She needs to grow up.

    -Nowhere in this Beyonce did Beyonce dress herself as a man and act like one. She carried herself as a woman the entire time.

    -Nowhere in Ciara’s video was she a police officer.

    -Nowhere in Ciara’s video was there a story line, just dancing in male clothes and female clothes. Beyonce did not dance and emulate men at all.

    -Nowhere in Beyonce’s video was there a male costar that just sat there the whole time, did not talk, and only have Beyonce dance around them the whole time.

    -Ciara’s video had no dialogue at all, Beyonce’s did.

    -Most importantly. Ciara’s song is talking about how she could act like a boy purely. Beyonce’s song is talking about how if she were a boy she would treat a woman different, be a better man, and at the end of the song she ends up realizing it won’t work. Ciara’s song did not have any type of transition at all from out of the “I would do this and that if I were a guy”.

    So again tell me how this video a rip off of Ciara’s video, and how is the song an exact copy? Let me know. If that’s the case noone can make black and white videos n e more.”

    I wish her much luck. She looks great in the video. This idea is not original but taken from past concepts. In all honesty many songs are not new anymore, but she needs to learn to give credit where it’s due which is something she has had a problem with.

    BC Jean is not the original singer of this song. She is actually the writer and the thing on youtube is her singing the demo to send to Beyonce. The lyrics are tight and this song would’ve been better off sung by someone like KElly Clarkson or Ashlee Simpson. Beyonce has a great voice, but it just doesn’t sit well with this song.

    Best of Luck to her though.

    @ A Keys fan why would either one of them be jumping for joy? The new Beyonce songs have received critical acclaim from music critics across the board and radio stations already have them in heavy rotation. Beyonce’s song broke a record for most requested song ever on Thursday at Z100 which is the largest radio station in the country. The video is absolutly beautiful.

    Rihanna has achieved enough success to where she won’t be threatened by the return of Beyonce but the others on that list have no reason to be jumping for joy.

    I loved the video and the song was interesting. Beyonce is trying to reach a different age group and she did it. Those who are saying that they don’t like it probably don’t because your not the age group she is targeting. Some of you should listen to the words and watch the video closely because most of what you said was wrong. She is in a relationship with a police officer. Everything she did as a policy officer (she is not the police officer) her man (who is actually the policy officer) did to her. You can interpret the rest!

    so now whtat i’ve watched the video and listened to the song, its alright. its not as bad as some said but its not like she conquered some new issue that’s never been touchd on in music. it is really reminiscent of ciara’s song. i found that video more watchable b/ of rb of course. the video is cool. overall, theres nothing impressive about either imo. but, im sure her fans will eat it up. i do hope her material on this cd is more mature though

    @ A Keys fan November and December are the biggest months for music sale because of the holidays.

    Beyonce is an r&b singer with pop appeal. There are plenty of ballads that have been on top of the pop charts such as Irreplaceble. You may not like the song but you are in the minority. This song is a hit and Beyonce’s album is higly anti*****ted.

    Ok. I am not a beyonce fan simply because her music is not mature enough for me. However, I want to commend her for “attempting” to step up her game. I think what really bothers me about her music and her music decision is…well..every time she decides to push an album out someone else is affected by it..Jennifer Hudson just dropped her album, Michele Williams just dropped hers…she always doing that; and I am not hating for that because the music industry will pit artist against each other but dayumm…thats some foul trash. But either way…the video is very good. The idea not all that original; but decent. Its a start. You know what is really funny..her sister Solange’s album although very very raw..it had a very mature theme to it. Beyonce just needs to come to grips with the reality that the industry has formed her career to always cater to 13-21 demographic. She is solid music entertainer I will give it to her..but I just don’t see the growth moving fast enough for her.

    I love Beyonce’s new video. I love the song. It’s makes perfect sense. Men can get away with many things women cannot. A lot of men do not appreciate what they have because there is so much out there. They tend to lose track. Her song hits the hearts of my broken ones. Whoever said, Beyonce does not sound mature is wrong. If you listen to all of the R&B artists today they all song the same except for Jennifer Hudson. Many of them need background music to sound good. Ciara’s song had a different meaning. She has a different style. She dance better than singing…..It’s unfortunate but it’s true. Beyonce rocks

    Personally, I really liked the song and the message behind it.

    She portrayed how her husband/boyfriend actions with his female work partner affected her from her point of view or “what if it was me acting like that” theme.

    After, reading some of these posts I get the idea she copied this from someone else.

    I didn’t know because I have never seen this done by anyone else, but I really liked her video.

    Nice video. I’m not feeling the song. It is pop music. I like R&B and this is not it. The musical arragement sucks as well. There is no base just guitars. This song should be played alongside with bon jovi and aerosmith.

    I do agree with previous posts about Beyonce’s lack of life experience — and how her songs tend to stay slightly juvenile. And I almost agree, except I think of songs like “Listen” and “Me, Myself and I”. But for the most part — I agree.     I really liked this video. It’s a whole new sound for Beyounce and good for her because she had to change it up. Her old stuff was unbearable. But she needs to show more emotion in her expressions. She had the same stone face throughout the whole video. She has no range in acting. She has a beautiful figure and very pretty eyes.     I understand the need to compare Beyounce to Rhianna. But there’s really no comparison. They come from totally different wolds. They’re different ages and their music styles are different and more importantly they have very different personalities. Rhianna is outgoing and Beyounce is shy. Now I prefer Rhianna’s look over Beyounce’s. Rhianna’s look is international and evolved. Polished. She always looks like she just stepped off the cat walk at some major fashion show. After all of Beyounce’s success, she still dresses like she’s going to go hang out at the mall or in the neighborhood. When you see pics of her, you never ever say, “Wow, love that dress ore Beyounce look is sensational”. She still small town and it suits her. I think what Beyounce has to figure out is who she is. Her music should change, but should it change into something that sounds like everybody else’s. No. But she’s definitely needs to find her voice.

    I feel that the song was great and she did show you great range and emotion. I feel that it is a lot of hating on this blog and some of these girls wish that they did look and sound like this woman. I feel that this hate is going to continue until we find out who we are as a people. hint (look up Willie Lynch). Second, there is nothing wrong with taking a concept and taking it to another level. Beyonce and Rihanna are compared alot because they are the two biggest black artist right now, and the whole Rihanna and Jay rumor. Beyonce has been around for 10 years dominating pop as a black artist, and when Rihanna came along it was a breath of fresh air to music….she may not be on point in her singing and performances but she has the “IT” factor that draws people to her energy and music. ITs the fans of the two that draws the comparison, outside of the internet many people dont care…*****ody is fighting in the streets for these chicks. Both bring their flavor to the table.

    I will say it was a good video, hats off to the directors and to BC Jean the writer of the song. Bey does NOT pull off the song vocally, to me, but she does pull of the visuals, and like someone said yes her BEAUTY does play a HUGE role in her success, which she and her camp well know.

    Beyonce has shown a vindictive streak and is very competitive and Im sure she had no problem building on Ciara’s concepts and making them her own, as she did with Jlo, Amerie, Shakira, Janet, Tina, Josephine…name them.

    Again, since the song is primarily the MUSIC and not the VIDEO, I still don’t like the song, her voice is not suited to the song TO ME and it just isn’t an easy listen on my ears.

    My ears are actually tired of her voice, just tired, the same way I am tired of food from the Red Bamboo in NYC, which is good food but too much of anything can do that to you.

    beyonce is obviously fame obsessed and I also think it was just tasteless and really telling for her to release her songs, videos right around Michelles release date. I think all the stank that has been seen from Tina (abruptly ending interviews), Solo (rude), Matt (arrogance) are ofcoure traits that Bey has that she carefully veils and I think her camp is using JAYZ, because at the end of the day, it is ALL about BEYONCE.

    In my opinion, Ciara’s video had more meaning. When she’s like ” what you getting mad can’t handle that?” just seemed more authentic. Beyonce is fake and it is comming across to more and more of the people who used to respect her and her music. The song is ok, and the video is ok.     In my humble opinion-there are reasons for why artists like Mary J Blige are successful. Since her debut “What’s the 411?”, Mary has giving her heart into her music, and her fans can feel that. She is a soul singer.

    Now, Jill Scott is moderately successful compared to both Mary J, and Beyonce-but she gives her soul to her music, too. When you can write music that truly identifies with the audience you want to sell it to-then careers in music are prolonged, and not based on gimmicks or trying something new for vainglory. I do not identify with Beyonce with this song. I-I just don’t get it.

    Beyonce takes others idea as a way to take their shine, render them an afterthought, as with Ciara, now people will not think of her when the like a boy is mentioned or thought of they will think of B, just like if its true the title I AM, the will not think of Alicia, they will think of her, the Ring the Alarm performance where she bit Britney and Janet–she does this to render other artists’ accomplishments obsolete and to subsume them into her brand, its like a merger and acquistion in a business setting, with the acquiring company (biting beyonce) being remembered in the end. She’s a beast and takes no prisoners thats for sure! Its calculated and deliberate, she is very competitive and wants the spotlight and history for herself, that is why she is playing all these icons as you won’t be able to remember them without talking about her.

She thought that since she was credited on the song Listen that she would have automatically be nominated for an Oscar along with the other writers but the Oscars stated that if they are more than 3 writers on a song only the 3 major writers on the song will get a nomination and since Beyonce was credited 4th or last, she was not nominated along with the rest.

    Also i loved how the c*****ographer from Dreamgirls beat her to the punch, you know Beyonce loves to say she is ‘involved in every aspect of everything’ well the c*****ographer went on record stating how she came up with ALL of the routines, cleared it with the white producer, forgot his name, and then they taught ‘the girls’. Homegirl wasn’t gon have Beyonce trying to take credit for HER c*****ography! Jennifer chilled, didnt rush things, she knows she’s the real thing, Jennifer will still be around 10, 20, 30 years to come! Beyonce’s album, after 4 or 5 singles, include a re-release of the Bday ’special limited’ edition, it all fizzled out within a year or so… but listen to Jeniffer’s first single, “spotlight” Tighter than a g-string on an elephant!!

    She keeps working harder and harder as if that’s the answer, its not…put depth and substance into your music and you can be like the musical kings and queens who only release once every 3-4 years… You are beautiful and the camera sho does love you B, but hey… give us more…

    It is so refreshing to read that people are finally seeing Beyonce for who she really is. She is a pretty young lady but that’s it. Make-up and fake hair does wonders.

    Oh yah for all of those Stans who dont know, Distribution companies and labels actually pay for their artists materials to be aired. This means the video countdowns are fake and the radio plays are fake. It is all about which artist is paying them the most money.     We can relate to Beyonce’s life. She is human just like any of us. she can talk about being a black girl in the industry- if the industry is agist, or racist, or sexist at times then we can relate. In my opinion, it was boring. She’s over-rated and over-exposed. Those are my opinions. I dont blast the ones who like her (for whatever weird reason) I just let them be.

    But when you dont like her, your a hater. Why do I have to like her, because a million other people do. That’s stupid. Nothing she does is original. And I get tired of everyone saying she soooooo beautiful. When no-one really knows what the girl REALLY looks like. She stays in character 100% of the time.

    Oh well, I think she has talent, but in my book she in no way a legend or and idol. Or anyone, I think young girls should look up to. Contrary to what some think, money isnt everything. Hate to break it to ya.

    I think it is horrible that she would release her singles and videos the same week as Michelle released her album, just HORRIBLE. How does one do that to someone who helped save Destiny’s Child, she didn’t release when little sis released her album. Its called courtesy and decency which she obviously lacks. The same being on cover of VIBE when Kelly should have been. The same with having Solange in the Loreal ad and Kelly modeling Dereon on Oprah, no decency at all. But just like Kelly and Michelle since they allow themselves to be walked all over she does. And since her stans are so gullible she continues to play them for fools.

    How does someone so shamelessly promote HOUSE OF GARBAGE but at the same time claim they aren’t materialistic, but the public is supposed to be (materialistic)–for her gain.

    How is her marraige private, now her album coming out now let’s talk about it.

    No other artist is the big LIAR and FRAUD and MANIPULATOR that Beyonce is, that is why she is always being talked about. No other artist has played their band mates like she did. No other artist has been as self absorbed–I want to be an ICON–than be one, don’t talk about it–that is why she is talked about.

    Prince is a composer, lyricist, singer, plays every instrument known to man and have you heard him talk so arrogantly? Or EVER speak on his private life. That is a real artist. Not an ego maniac as is Beyonce who don’t write ***** but states that is what she wants to be remembered for.

    I want to be the first to do this, the first to do that, NO other artist has been so obsessed with accolades, they were in it for the love of it. That is why she is talked about. Whoopi already won the tony/oscar/grammy by the way, why is she obsessed with being first? Damn, just make music and act and if the glory is meant to come it will (and in her case Matthew will pay for it).

    This song is nothing like Ciara’s so why is it being compared? Is it because of the title? Well if that’s the case LL Cool J and Michael Jackson both have song’s called “I’m Bad” or Chrisette Michelle and Jill Scott “Golden” and so forth. Anywho, they both have the same concept on the double standard of what men can do but a woman can’t. I thought the video went very well with the song and it was meaningful whereas (and I love Ciara by the way) her’s didn’t but both of them have great songs, I just don’t see what’s all the comparison is over.

    I like B and all, but I will have to agree that for a married woman, her music hasn’t evolved much. Fans will relate more when the music mirrors the artist’s life.

    I’m also REALLY tired of B yelling on high notes. She is practically screaming and I know she can hit the notes without all the added emotion. In the words of Randy, “It’s a little pitchy, B.”

    First of all I have never been a big fan of Bey, but after looking at her video I LIKE IT.. I don’t think it’s like Ciara’s. She was just tryn to make us see exactly what a lot of us have been thinking.. It’s a slow song and not seductive like C’s.. It’s Different.. Bey I love it.. I don’t think it sucks at all..
